The Inescapable Celibate Heir Chapter 23: Exposed
Ella's big reveal about her heart condition really shook things up among the students.
"She shouldn't be doing any heavy exercise then."
"Ella's so tough, dealing with a heart condition and still training with us."
"Victoria even tried to wake her up with water. That's just cruel!"
"Seriously, why is Victoria giving Ella such a hard time? Is she jealous of Ella's popularity?"
"I can't believe Victoria's so pretty but has such a nasty attitude."
Dean frowned, "Take Ella to the medical room to rest and get a leave slip. If she has a heart condition, she shouldn't be here training. We can't risk anything happening to her."
Victoria thought, 'A heart condition? That's weird, I never heard about this in the past.'
She knew Ella was faking it, but without proof, she could only shoot a cold glare at the gossiping classmates.
"What's her problem? She's glaring at me? She does something awful and expects no one to talk about it?"
"Exactly! Does being pretty make her special?"
Dean saw the team getting rowdy and shouted, "Everyone, quiet down! Stand for an extra ten minutes!"
The classmates were annoyed but didn't dare talk back, worried they'd get more time added.
Some didn't think about their harsh words but blamed Victoria, thinking it was her fault they were gossiping.
Meanwhile, Ella was chilling in the medical room, getting a glucose drip, and playing on her phone.
She also told Ember to whip up a fake medical record for her heart condition, and Ember had to figure out how to forge it.
Soon, the counselor approved Ella's leave slip, praised her, and told her to rest up.
Ella said, "I still want to be with my classmates and fit in with the group."
Mainly, she wanted to keep an eye on Victoria, worried she might try to flirt with Dennis during training.
Dennis, the student council president, would be delivering supplies to the new students during training. If she went back, she'd lose any excuse to see him.
So, Ella stayed at the training base. While everyone else trained during the day, she rested in the shade, always dressed up like she was at a fashion show.
When everyone took breaks, she helped the student council members hand out water and snacks, especially liking to hang around the boys, enjoying their compliments, which made her feel great.
"Ella is really beautiful and kind-hearted," one student remarked.
"Yeah, look at her skin, it's so good, unlike other girls who are all red and sweaty," someone else added.
"She's also very approachable, and even handed me water! Unlike Victoria, who doesn't even respond when you talk to her."
"Victoria is so arrogant, where does she get the confidence from? Besides, I think Victoria isn't as pretty as Ella; she's too aggressive."
Ella enjoyed three comfortable days.
The only issue was that every time Dennis came over, she tried to talk to him, but he barely responded, only saying a few words related to work, and his eyes never lingered on her.
But this little hiccup didn't get her down; being in the same school, she knew there'd be plenty of chances in the future.
That afternoon, though, someone anonymously posted on the school forum.
#Shocking! Did You Know a Freshman Faked a Medical Record to Avoid Training?
During the training period, both freshmen and upperclassmen were paying attention to it, especially since the military training at Nexus College was notoriously rigorous and no one had ever dodged it.
The post blew up, with tons of comments and views. It went viral in no time.
[Which freshman has such obvious privileges? Causing trouble right from the start?]
[Isn't it that girl who took leave? I've seen a pretty girl sitting in the shade every day, thought she was a senior.]
[Are you talking about Ella from the performing arts department?]
[Just say it, who else could it be but her!]
[Unbelievable, if she's taking leave, just stay away quietly, what's the point of sitting there every day, showing off?]
[Didn't she say she has a heart condition?]
[The post title says it's fake, didn't you read the title before coming in?]
[No way, right? Isn't the school always super strict?]
[Be careful, your account might get banned.]
[Having money is great, even Nexus College bows to money.]
[Is her family rich?]
[Yeah, she's a rich girl; she came in a luxury car on the first day of school!]
[There are so many wealthy students in our school, how many of them fake to avoid training? Even the Charming Four from the computer science department participated in the training.]
In the afternoon, when Ella got to the base, she noticed her classmates looking at her differently.
They were avoiding her, not even taking the water she offered, with disdainful looks on their faces.
Natalia pulled her aside and told her to check the school forum.
Natalia also despised such behavior, but since Ella was generous and often gave her things, she didn't want to cut ties with her.
Ella quickly browsed through the post, gritting her teeth, thinking it must be Victoria targeting her.
But she still defended herself, "She just said it, and everyone believed it? What a bunch of idiots! She has no evidence at all!"
Ella quickly posted her medical record, with a caption: [What are you talking about? The medical record is stamped by a legitimate hospital, with photos and evidence. This is a deliberate smear!]
Just then, a fruit delivery arrived, and Ella offered the fruits to her classmates and the instructor.
For a moment, Ella's reputation improved again.
No one would suspect that the kind and generous Ella was deliberately avoiding training.
Ella even pretended to cry among the girls, "I really didn't fake it, who hates me this much? Is it Victoria? No, it can't be!"
She shook her head, denying the suspicion, but it still planted doubts about Victoria, who, indeed, was the mastermind behind it.
