The Inescapable Celibate Heir Chapter 76: Incorrect Conjecture
Lily felt a lot more at ease. The Sword Dance wasn't a dance that can be mastered overnight. If Victoria had some foundation and combined it with impressive stage effects, she might actually fool the audience.
After all, the audience wasn't made up of experts; they cared more about the visual impact than the difficulty or professionalism of the dance. Since Ella was so confident, there was no need to worry.
Unfortunately, Ella only knew the Victoria from before she turned eighteen, not the current Victoria.
With memories from her past life, the steps of the Sword Dance were deeply ingrained in Victoria's soul.
Moreover, with Diana's full support, Victoria had only focused on this dance, and her current level was on par with many professional dancers. These students wouldn't be able to find any flaws!
"Someone mentioned seeing Victoria at the Starlight Dance Hall. Could she have been getting special training from a teacher?"
Vivian rolled her eyes. "In less than a month? What do you think she is, a genius?"
Lily sighed. "If she managed to find the best teacher and has a high level of understanding, she could learn the basics well enough to fool the untrained eye in such a short time."
Ella asked, "Lily, who do you consider the best teacher?"
Lily replied, "Diana. She's the best highland dance teacher in the country, maybe even the world. I wanted to be her student, but she had already taken on two students and wasn't accepting any more."
Lily had loved dancing since she was a child and was exceptionally talented. After being rejected by Diana, she gave up highland dancing and turned to ballet, eventually learning many other dance styles.
"Then there's no way she taught Victoria! Lily, if Diana could turn you down despite your background, there's no way Victoria could get her attention. She probably found an average teacher, and she'll definitely embarrass herself on stage!"
The dance club members laughed, already picturing Victoria's failure.
Ella covered her mouth, laughing happily, thinking, 'Victoria, your luck won't last forever. This Thanksgiving will be the start of your downfall!'
Meanwhile, the snooker club members didn't care about the dance club's performance. They were fully focused on setting up the stage for Victoria, spending their own money on elaborate props to ensure her dance would be perfectly presented.
Although none of them had seen Victoria dance, they were confident. The snooker club members came from wealthy families and didn't mind spending money.
With their support, Victoria's stage effects would rival professional dance performances, far beyond the usual school event standards. It was certain to leave a lasting impression on the students!
Eric even brought in a small lift from his family's company to allow Victoria to descend slowly from the air.
This move required a lot from Victoria, but with her experience from her past life, she could still perform the dance moves perfectly in mid-air.
One afternoon, Victoria and Mira went to the cafeteria for lunch and ran into some dance club members. Led by Vivian, they deliberately blocked Victoria's path, completely blocking the passage.
Vivian, relying on her numbers, arrogantly said, "Victoria, don't think Eric's kindness means he truly likes you. He'll soon dump you, and more people will come after you. If you know what's good for you, leave him now and keep a low profile to avoid more trouble."
Victoria remained expressionless. "And if I don't?"
She and Eric were just friends, not particularly close, but she wouldn't neglect her friends for irrelevant people.
Vivian sneered. "Victoria, you're just an ordinary student. Why go against Lily? The Martin family is a major donor to Nexus College. Once Eric gets tired of you, Lily can get you expelled with a word, just like you bullied other students before. Is a man worth sacrificing your future?"
"Expelled?" Victoria's tone was mocking. "Why don't you tell Eric to stay away from me?"
Vivian was stunned. She couldn't afford to offend Eric. Her face flushed, and she shouted, "Do you think you're special? You're just a stand-in for Lily! Eric likes you because you look like Lily!"
"Are you mad because you can't even be a stand-in? You keep mentioning Eric; do you have a crush on him?" Victoria raised an eyebrow at her.
Vivian was shocked, her face showing a mix of shame and anger.
Yes, she liked Eric, but she was too insecure to compete with Lily, and Eric had never paid her any attention.
Now that Victoria had exposed her feelings, she worried Lily might be upset if she heard.
Victoria thought Vivian was pathetic. Her actions and expressions had already betrayed her thoughts, but she was unaware. Victoria said, "Move."
Vivian stood with her hands on her hips, biting her lip and glaring at Victoria with hatred, not moving an inch. "Make me."
Victoria quickly raised her hand and slapped her. "Satisfied?"
Vivian clutched her reddening cheek, staring at Victoria in disbelief. "You actually hit me!" Victoria hadn't held back, and Vivian's face stung painfully.
The dance club members were about to attack Victoria. They had the numbers and weren't afraid of Victoria and Mira.
Mira, though a good student who had never fought, wouldn't let herself be bullied without fighting back.
Just as the two sides were about to clash, a steady voice called out, "Stop!"
It was Dennis, accompanied by some student council members. They had been watching for a while.
When someone reported that Victoria was being blocked in the cafeteria, Dennis rushed over with his team. Hearing Victoria mention Eric, he stayed silent.
But now, seeing the situation escalate, he had to intervene as the student council president.
The dance club members lowered their raised hands when they saw Dennis and immediately complained, "Dennis, Victoria hit Vivian. Are you going to do something? Vivian's face is swollen!"
Dennis stepped forward, glanced at Vivian, and said coldly, "If it's swollen, go to the infirmary for some ointment. Don't block the way."
Vivian protested, "Dennis, are you covering for Victoria again? Just because she's in your snooker club doesn't mean she can bully us. You're the student council president; you should be fair!"
Dennis smiled at her. "Isn't this what you asked for? I heard everything."
The student council members chimed in, laughing. "It's the first time we've seen someone ask to be hit. Victoria even fulfilled such an unreasonable request. She's really kind."
The onlookers whispered and laughed.
Vivian, seeing that Dennis was backing Victoria and that Lily wasn't there, knew she couldn't win. She covered her face and ran out of the cafeteria, crying.
Victoria nodded at Dennis and then left directly.
