The Inescapable Celibate Heir Chapter 17: Bumper Go-Karts

"This is the beginner's track," the advisor said. "Not many people use it, but it's fully equipped."

The track was empty, straight, and flat with gentle, wide turns.

The advisor turned to Victoria. "We've got all the safety gear you need. The track's made of soft rubber, and there are buffers on both sides. Even if you flip, you won't get hurt. Plus, the car's chassis is super low, so it usually won't flip. You can learn without any worries."

Victoria eyed the track and the row of go-karts, nodding eagerly. "Can I start right away?"

The advisor suggested, "We have professional coaches here. Do you need a female coach?"

Victoria was about to agree when Ethan cut in, "No need, I'll teach."

He looked at Victoria. "We agreed on this earlier."

"Okay," she said, remembering. "But won't you find this boring?"

Ethan shook his head. "No."

Eric raised his hand. "Then you stay with Victoria. We'll head to the new track."

Nick suddenly remembered Samuel's instructions to look after Victoria. "Maybe I should..."

Roy put his arm around Nick's shoulder, interrupting him, "You're definitely coming with us. One person is enough to teach Victoria."

He then dragged Nick away.

Nick called out, "Victoria, be careful!"

Victoria waved with a smile. "You guys go ahead. I might join you later."

Ethan watched Nick being dragged away, expressionless.

Victoria picked out a set of light purple protective gear. The exoskeleton was made of carbon fiber, strong yet lightweight, with a thick layer of silicone inside, soft and comfy.

After fastening the last buckle, she looked at Ethan, who was already ready. Ethan said, "I had them prepare some new cars. Pick one."

Victoria's eyes lit up at a shiny row of go-karts, especially a pink and purple one. The main body was black, but the edges and small areas were outlined in pink and purple, like a cool version of Lina Bell, combining girlishness and style! "This one!"

Ethan chuckled.

"What's so funny?" Victoria asked.

"Get in the car," Ethan said, walking to the car she had chosen.

Victoria decided to focus on learning first.

The go-kart's operation was simple, with a few gears, a brake, and an accelerator. The rest was by feel.

Ethan's explanation was brief but clear.

"Got it." Victoria silently recalled the positions, making sure she remembered them.

"At the beginning, don't keep accelerating. Get familiar with the controls first, then speed up once you get the hang of the turns," Ethan reminded.

"Don't worry. You go play too." Victoria pressed the accelerator a few times to test the feel, then pressed the start button.

She was wearing pants and sneakers, which was convenient. She gently pressed down with her toes, and the go-kart slowly slid out of the parking spot.

First, she drove straight. The road was wide and clear, no problem at all. Victoria relaxed and began to accelerate.

When Ethan was seated, he saw that Victoria had already driven a distance, not waiting for him at all.

With a press of the accelerator, he caught up. "How does it feel?"

"Why are you so fast?" Hearing the roar behind her, Victoria saw Ethan had already overtaken her before she could turn her head. She instinctively pressed down harder, the engine revved, and the steering wheel vibrated.

Ethan shouted, "Careful!"

A loud crash.

Victoria's car hit the edge of the turn, bounced off the tire barrier, and came to a sudden stop.

She was jolted, her foot had already relaxed. It turned out she had reached the first turn while talking.

Ethan stopped beside her. "Are you okay? Keep your eyes on the road."

Victoria was stunned for a moment, then burst into laughter. "It doesn't hurt; just a bit dazed."

"Even if it doesn't hurt, you can't crash recklessly. You're driving a go-kart, not a bumper car," Ethan shook his head.

"Okay." Victoria agreed, but her hands were already moving.

She reversed and gave Ethan's car a sideways bump, pushing him into the tire barrier.

Ethan looked at Victoria in disbelief.

"Would you believe me if I said it was an accident?" Victoria feigned innocence without much sincerity. "After all, I'm just a beginner, not good at controlling the direction, and you know that."

"I don't believe you. Your aim was pretty accurate," Ethan said, quickly catching up to Victoria and giving her a light bump.

"Are you trying to play bumper cars with me?" Victoria's forward momentum paused, she adjusted her direction before speaking.

She thought, 'Immediately bump back! He sure holds a grudge!'

Ethan turned his car around and sped off. "Catch up to me first."

Thus, the two began a childish game of chase.

Ethan controlled his speed, not leaving her too far behind to avoid her giving up. But every time Victoria was about to catch up, he would accelerate.

During this time, Victoria crashed into the walls many times, but she mastered the turning techniques quickly and became more adept at controlling the direction.

Meanwhile, Nick and the others had their own cars. After familiarizing themselves with the track, they started racing.

The track, named Demon Realm, was 2 miles long, with loops, ups and downs, high-speed turns, and sharp angles one after another.

Even the experienced driver, Nick, flipped his car once because he was too confident and didn't slow down at the loops. Plus, Eric's interference caused him to flip.

The three chased each other, taking turns winning and losing, with cheering spectators adding to the lively atmosphere.

After playing for over ten laps, they stopped to rest.

"This track is really good, and I can play for a long time without getting bored," Eric commented, drinking a cold soda.

Nick looked satisfied, even though he flipped, he had a great time.

Roy, not as enthusiastic about racing, also found it enjoyable. "I wonder how Ethan and Victoria are doing?"

Nick said, "Yeah, I hope Victoria doesn't flip like I did."

Just then, Ethan and Victoria walked over.

"Why are you here?" Nick, with sharp eyes, was the first to see them.

Ethan said, "Here to challenge the new track."

Roy asked, "Victoria too?"

Victoria looked excitedly at the complex track. "Yes, the beginner's track is too boring."

The new track wasn't just winding; it also had obstacles. It was much more interesting than a straight path. Even bumper cars were more fun with a few more cars on the track.

Moreover, after the first sneak attack, she couldn't keep up Ethan at all.

Nick said, "But be careful, this Demon Realm track is difficult for beginners."

Ethan looked at Victoria with affection. "She learns quickly, so I think she can try."

Nick looked up. "I flipped, so I don't believe it!"

Victoria retorted. "Nick, you're underestimating me."

Nick said proudly, "I bet you can't finish in under two minutes."
