The Inescapable Celibate Heir Chapter 175: Let Victoria Have A Rough Time
Jasmine replied, "Still looking. Do you have any recommendations?"
She hadn't been in the mood to find teammates after getting injured, and Ella's reminder brought it back to her mind.
Ella looked surprised. "Oh no, I was worried I wasn't good enough, so I went to an esports studio and picked a few teammates. I didn't want to drag you down. I thought you had already found your team."
Despite her words, Ella actually thought Jasmine's gaming skills were just average. Better than hers, but not as good as the pros she found at the studio.
Plus, she didn't want another pretty girl in the team stealing her spotlight.
Jasmine frowned. She didn't want to team up with Ella either, thinking she'd just be a burden.
But Ella finding teammates first still annoyed her. "You should've told me earlier if you had this plan. I was holding off on finding teammates because of you. Since you're not joining, I can finalize my team."
She already had someone in mind, a reserve player from a pro team. Pro players wouldn't participate in college esports tournaments, so she picked the best non-pros, all ranked in the top 100 nationally.
Ella smiled innocently. "Sorry, Jasmine. I tried calling you a few days ago, but your phone was unreachable. Did something happen?"
Jasmine thought back to a few days ago when the storm was at its worst.
Samuel's impression of her and her brother had worsened, and no one came to fix the broken signal transmitter at their villa.
The servants said, "With the weather so bad, just having basic necessities is enough. Don't expect too much." It made Jasmine furious.
She was worried that Ella would discover that the collapsed island was where she lived and secretly mock her for how miserable her vacation had been.
So, she quickly changed the subject. With a mysterious look, she said, "Your intel on Victoria's true identity seems off."
Ella was taken aback and instinctively retorted, "No way."
Victoria's biological parents were her former foster parents. Though it was odd she suddenly changed her last name to Hamilton, Ella never thought much of it.
In her past life, Victoria had never acknowledged her biological parents. She despised her impoverished biological family and shamelessly insisted on staying with the Scott family.
Jasmine sneered. "You said she was raised by your parents, but your intel on her is often wrong. I'm almost certain she's an illegitimate child of the Hamilton family. She and Nick share the same father but different mothers."
Ella was shocked. "Impossible!" Nick's family was wealthier than the Scotts. She couldn't believe Victoria's background was better than hers.
If that were true, why didn't Nick's family find her in the past life?
Jasmine added, "I heard her introduce Nick as her brother. If she wasn't Nick's sister, how could she be so close to Ethan and the others?"
"And I found out Nick brought her to school on the first day! So it's not because she's dating Eric that Nick cares about her. It's because she's Nick's sister, and he brought her into this social circle."
Ella frowned, deep in thought.
Could it be that her early return to the Scott family in this life changed Victoria's behavior, leading her to find her wealthier biological parents?
It seemed so unfair that life favored Victoria so much.
Jasmine continued, "Victoria's clothes may not have brands, but the quality is good, likely custom-made. And she gifted Mira those limited-edition Christian shoes. No ordinary family could afford that."
Jasmine herself wouldn't give Ella such an expensive gift. After the island vacation, she only brought back some branded perfume from the airport.
Ella thought it over and realized Jasmine made sense.
Everyone at school said Eric would dump Victoria in a month, but months had passed, and they were still frequently seen together.
She suddenly remembered that Victoria had a house in Lavender Fields Manor, which might be the Hamilton family's way of compensating her.
Even the cold Ethan had defended Victoria. It couldn't be that all these rich guys liked Victoria. It had to be because of Nick; they were looking out for his sister.
But these were just guesses. Luckily, she had hired a hacker to investigate Victoria. Once the detailed report came out, everything would be clear.
Even if Victoria was Nick's sister, exposing her dark past would make the Hamilton family despise and abandon her.
Confidently, Ella smiled. "Don't worry, Jasmine. After school starts, I'll make sure Victoria has a rough time."
"Oh, what's your plan?" Jasmine asked eagerly, raising her eyebrows.
Ella gave a mysterious smile. "It's a secret for now, but you'll love it. The esports tournament is right after school starts. I plan to give everyone a show they'll never forget."
