The Inescapable Celibate Heir Chapter 170: Send Them Away
Jasmine was terrified and started screaming, her voice breaking with sobs.
She covered her ears with her hands, but her foot missed a step, and she tumbled down the stairs, crashing into the wall at the landing and passing out.
At that moment, a black cat landed gracefully on the floor, glanced back at her, and walked away with elegant steps.
The commotion attracted the attention of the mansion's staff.
They turned on the lights and saw Jasmine crumpled at the bottom of the stairs, her face mostly hidden by her hair, with a red mark faintly visible on her forehead.
One of the staff members called out in surprise, "Ms. Murphy?" Jasmine didn't respond.
The staff member rushed over to help her up, asking with concern, "Ms. Murphy? Are you okay?"
The shaking actually woke Jasmine up, but she didn't know how to explain what happened, so she pretended to remain unconscious.
Victoria, who hadn't even paused her horror movie, came out to see what was going on.
She almost forgot that Jasmine's target was Samuel, though without the aphrodisiac, Samuel wouldn't be seduced anyway.
It was all Ethan's fault for drinking the spiked coffee, wasting her time.
Standing at the top of the stairs, looking at the unconscious Jasmine with a bleeding forehead, Victoria almost burst out laughing.
She cleared her throat to hide her amusement and said, "Our guest is hurt. Please help her to her room and call a doctor. We don't want anyone saying we don't know how to treat our guests."
Jasmine kept her head down, not daring to open her eyes, but she gritted her teeth in frustration.
'It's Victoria again,' she thought. 'That strange noise and the furry thing just now were probably her doing. She's been hiding nearby, just to keep an eye on me! Victoria is so cunning!'
After the excitement, Victoria was no longer worried that Samuel would be disturbed by Jasmine tonight.
She waited a long time, but Ethan still didn't come out. Feeling relieved, she gradually dozed off on the couch.
Ethan emerged from the bathroom, drying his hair, wearing only a loose robe that revealed his well-defined collarbone and part of his sculpted chest.
Water droplets from his hair slid down his pale skin into the robe, carrying an unspoken allure, but Victoria missed it all.
The horror movie was still playing, with the characters screaming and running, but it didn't disturb Victoria's peaceful sleep.
Ethan felt like all the time he spent grooming himself in front of the mirror was wasted.
He gently tapped Victoria's cute nose, watching her curl up like a kitten on the couch, not even covering herself with a blanket. A faint smile appeared on his face.
Suddenly, a drop of water from Ethan's hair fell onto Victoria's cheek. She mumbled something and unconsciously touched her face.
Ethan thought she was waking up, but she just shifted positions and continued sleeping.
He chuckled softly, picked her up, and carried her to the bed, tucking her in.
He stood by the bed for a while, watching her, before grabbing a book and heading to the study.
When Victoria woke up, the sky was still overcast. She glanced at the bedside lamp and sat up abruptly. It was already ten o'clock!
Something felt off. She remembered waiting for Ethan to finish his bath in his room last night, then falling asleep. How did she end up waking up in her own room?
It turned out Ethan hadn't slept at all.
He spent the night in the study and, in the early morning when everyone was asleep, quietly carried Victoria back to her room. She slept so soundly that she didn't react at all.
Ethan lay on the bed, which still carried her scent, but he couldn't fall asleep.
His mind was filled with thoughts of Victoria—her peaceful sleeping face, her fluttering eyelashes when he kissed her, her soft, sweet lips, and her nimble tongue.
Eventually, he took another cold shower to clear his head, then went downstairs for a strong cup of black coffee and started breakfast.
In the morning, Samuel came downstairs and saw Ethan drinking coffee, staring out at the storm. He greeted Ethan with some surprise, as he was usually the first one to get up.
A staff member reported, "Mr. Smith spent a long time in the study last night and asked the doctor for some cold medicine."
Samuel found it odd, and the staff member added, "Ms. Murphy fell on the stairs last night and hit her head."
Samuel immediately suspected a connection. Jasmine had stayed over with an agenda, likely targeting Ethan, but ended up injured instead.
Although he guessed the wrong man, his assumption was otherwise correct. Samuel's impression of the Murphy siblings plummeted.
He knew the character of an illegitimate child couldn't be great, but he didn't expect her to be so opportunistic.
As soon as Tony woke up, Samuel had the staff send Jasmine and Tony away, not even offering them breakfast.
Ethan knew Samuel might have misunderstood, but he didn't explain.
If Samuel found out what happened in the study last night, he might be the first to kick Ethan out, never allowing him near Victoria again.
When Victoria got up, she was informed that Jasmine and Tony had already been sent away.
She happily finished her breakfast and headed to the gaming room, finding everyone there.
She turned on her computer and smiled, "You all are working so hard, it makes me look like an unfit captain."
