The Inescapable Celibate Heir Chapter 24: Giving a Scented Sachet
Ella's words really got the girls talking.
"Totally, Ella! It's gotta be Victoria. She's always gunning for you!"
"Does she really need to be so nasty just because she got outed as a fake heiress? Now she's trying to drag you down too."
"We haven't known each other long, and she's just scared everyone will like you more. She's totally jealous."
"Ella's the real deal and super nice. Victoria, the fake heiress, comes from a rough background and has a mean streak. The less she has, the more bitter she gets!"
Ella felt a surge of pride hearing this. She thought, 'Victoria, you can't beat me!'
But it didn't take long for things to flip again. Soon, Ella's full medical report from Embercrest, the top hospital, got leaked. It showed she was healthy but a bit underweight and malnourished.
Victoria had snagged Ella's medical report ages ago, waiting to drop it after Ella's fake clarification. This time, she had photos and proof!
But since everyone had gotten something from Ella, they weren't too harsh on her.
Ella's fans claimed the pics were doctored and stood by her.
Most people still believed that the exposed fake heiress, Victoria, was just jealous of the real heiress, Ella. After all, going from rich to poor overnight? Anyone would be bitter.
On one hand, it was hard to believe the real heiress would be jealous of the fake one.
On the other hand, Ella's sweet and generous vibe won over her classmates, who started to shun Victoria, calling her fake and unfriendly.
Only Mira, who shared a tent with Victoria, wasn't swayed by everyone else.
Ella couldn't stand Victoria having friends, so she went to Mira.
"Mira, did you have some fruit just now?" Ella asked with a sweet smile, looking genuinely concerned.
Mira replied politely, "Yeah, thanks, Ella."
Ella went on, "I just want to get along with everyone. I hope no one misunderstands me."
"Don't worry, everyone gets you."
"It's just that Victoria never accepts me, and it really hurts." Ella, the drama queen, started her act again, pretending to wipe her eyes and making them red.
Mira was pretty introverted and didn't chat much with others. She'd heard bad stuff about Victoria, but after spending a few days with her, she felt Victoria wasn't as bad as the rumors. She was just quiet but serious about training and good at her work.
So she tried to comfort Ella, "Ella, don't be sad. Victoria isn't unreasonable. She'll see your good side eventually."
"Mira, do you remember how I embarrassed myself at the welcome party?" Ella hesitated.
Mira felt a bit awkward, "I remember. Weren't you feeling sick then?"
Ella explained with difficulty, "Yeah, later I found out Victoria put a laxative in my coffee, but I never told anyone."
Mira was shocked but still didn't buy it. "Victoria doesn't seem like that kind of person..."
"I hope not, but no one else had the chance. We were at the makeup table together that day."
Mira thought for a moment and said, "I didn't think Victoria was like that. Ella, you should steer clear of her from now on."
Ella sighed dramatically, "But I really want to get along with Victoria. Even though she's not my parents' biological daughter, they raised her for eighteen years. There's still a bond. I don't want my parents to be sad."
"Ella, you're so understanding." Mira instantly pictured a soap opera where the parents had a deeper bond with the fake heiress because they spent more time together, and the real heiress had to put up with it.
Ella gave a bitter smile and said, "It's okay, as long as you get me."
Mira replied, "Alright, since I share a tent with Victoria, I'll try to talk to her. You're both good people, and it's just a misunderstanding."
The next day.
Ella carefully prepared a sachet and handed it to Victoria. "Victoria, I heard from Mom and Dad that you haven't been sleeping well. I made this sachet for you. It's supposed to help you relax."
The sachet was a delicate yellow with intricate patterns, clearly pricey.
People around them praised, "This sachet is so fancy. Just this small piece must cost a fortune. And with the added fragrance inside."
"Ella, you're so kind! Victoria's been so mean to you, yet you still care about her!"
Victoria gave her a cold look and said indifferently, "No, thanks."
In the past, Victoria had gratefully accepted this sachet and cherished it, hanging it on herself. But what happened?
She was constantly bitten by mosquitoes and crawled over by unknown bugs, her body covered in bites. She never suspected the sachet, thinking it was just because the training ground was in the mountains with more bugs. She used a lot of insect repellent, but it didn't work. Despite this, Victoria endured the training.
It wasn't until she accidentally lost the sachet that she realized she was no longer attracting bugs and figured out that the sachet Ella gave her was the problem.
She confronted Ella, but Ella didn't admit it. Not wanting to worry Joan and Brian, she ultimately chose to remain silent.
Ella looked hurt and said, "Victoria, you deliberately posted to smear me, and I didn't even get mad. Why are you still holding a grudge?"
Mira also tried to mediate, "Yeah, Victoria, just take it. Ella means well."
Victoria scoffed, "Whoever wants it can have it!"
With that, she ignored them and walked away.
Everyone comforted Ella, "Ella, don't be sad. It's Victoria who doesn't appreciate it. She'll come around eventually."
"Yeah, this sachet is so beautiful. It smells so good!" Lila took the sachet and sniffed it deeply, hinting for Ella to give it to her.
But Ella was a bit annoyed and snatched the sachet back. She had prepared it specifically for Victoria, but Victoria didn't want it.
She glanced at Mira and forced a smile, shoving the sachet into Mira's hand. "Mira, I'm still worried about Victoria. Why don't you keep it for her? Since you share a tent, she can sleep better."
"Ella, you're too good to Victoria!" Mira was shocked. Even after Victoria spoke like that, Ella was still thinking of her.
"Alright, I'll keep it and put it by Victoria's bedside later," Mira said as she happily accepted the sachet.
