The Inescapable Celibate Heir Chapter 163: The Strikers E-Sports Team
The rain hadn't let up for days. Fresh ingredients were delivered daily, but Jasmine still hadn't seen Samuel.
Two days passed like this, and Jasmine was visibly down during meals.
Tony noticed and asked, "Hey, Jasmine, what's got you so down?"
Jasmine sighed, clearly disappointed. "I thought I'd get a chance to meet Samuel. But it's been two days on this island, and I haven't seen him once."
Tony remembered their conversations. Samuel was the only son of the Hamilton family, a powerhouse in the business world.
If Jasmine could marry Samuel, it would be a game-changer. He thought it over seriously, "Samuel and Roy are pretty tight. Maybe he's avoiding us on purpose."
Jasmine, not one to give up easily, said, "Relationships aren't just about how long you've known someone. How do you know he won't like me once he meets me?"
She was ambitious and knew exactly what she wanted. While she might hide her true intentions from others, she didn't need to with Tony because their goals aligned.
Tony tapped his fingers lightly on the table. Jasmine had a point. If Samuel wouldn't come to see them, they could find a reason to visit him.
Tony suggested, "It's not hard to meet him. I remember you're a great cook, Jasmine. Why don't you make something special and personally deliver it to thank him? But make sure you leave a lasting impression."
Jasmine clapped her hands in delight. "Tony, you're a genius. Mom always said the way to a man's heart is through his stomach."
This was exactly why Jasmine had learned to cook from a young age. If she wanted to marry a wealthy man, she had to put in the effort.
With the kitchen fully stocked and the help of the servants, Jasmine prepared a delicious roast turkey.
Taking advantage of a brief lull in the storm, she and Tony drove to the estate.
In the estate's gaming room, after a few days of practice, the team had become well-coordinated. They won all their matches today, easily defeating their opponents.
Victoria's jungle play and Eric's mid-lane coordination were excellent, with strong output and timely support.
Even Ethan, who had only been playing for a few days, showed impressive support skills, breaking assist records repeatedly.
However, today Ethan wanted to switch roles again. Besides their regular team training, he had been practicing as a marksman in private.
He grabbed Nick and said, "I want to duel you again. The winner gets to play marksman."
Nick pouted, "No way, I don't want to play support. We already decided, why can't you just stick to it?"
A few days ago, he barely managed to beat Ethan, and today he might lose.
But he couldn't withstand Ethan's cold, intimidating gaze, so he turned to Victoria for help.
"Victoria, Captain! Can you do something about Ethan? He's messing with the team's vibe again!"
Victoria was reviewing the last game's replay data. She commented, "Ethan's support play is excellent. His vision control and timely assists are great. If Nick plays support, his carelessness might cost us the game. So, Ethan should stay as support."
Nick shrieked in protest, "What do you mean, Victoria? Are you saying I'm not as good as him?"
Ethan leaned back in his chair, a smirk on his face, and said, "Fine, we'll do it your way."
Eric patted Nick's shoulder, "Do we even need Victoria to say it? You're not as good as Ethan."
Nick, indignant, shook off Eric's hand and insisted on dueling Ethan for the support role, only to be kicked by Ethan. "Get lost."
"You all bully me," Nick cried, running out of the gaming room with his face in his hands.
Victoria was shocked, watching his retreating figure. Was he really upset?
Eric and Roy burst out laughing. Eric said, "That's just how he is, always putting on a show."
They knew Nick well enough to joke around, knowing he wouldn't actually get mad.
Sure enough, Nick soon returned with a bottle of champagne and several glasses.
He raised his glass and said, "Guys, let's celebrate the birth of Nexus College's Strikers E-Sports Team."
"Cheers!" The five of them raised their glasses, laughing heartily.
At that moment, Jasmine and Tony rang the doorbell of the estate.
The butler was surprised to see them but, given the rain outside, he invited them in.
As he led them to the living room, he asked, "Mr. Murphy, Ms. Murphy, what brings you here? Is there something we didn't do right?"
Jasmine smiled sweetly, "No, everything's been great. I made a roast turkey today and thought I'd bring it over for Mr. Hamilton to try, as a token of our gratitude."
Someone went upstairs to inform Samuel.
Since the guests had come to visit, it was only polite for him to meet them. Samuel, dressed in a casual ice-blue outfit, came downstairs.
The loose, draping pants accentuated his long, straight legs, and his every step exuded composure and grace.
His handsome, mature face caught Jasmine's gaze, and she couldn't help but stare at him for a long time.
Only when he looked her way did she shyly lower her head.
