The Inescapable Celibate Heir Chapter 122: Like the Wind

Victoria ignored her and swiftly mounted the reindeer. Samuel, who was about to help her up, was taken aback by her quick and skillful movements.

With one hand on the reindeer's back and a light step on the stirrup, she was seated in no time.

It was clear she had extensive horseback riding experience, which translated seamlessly to riding a reindeer.

In her previous life as a stunt double, Victoria often performed dangerous horseback stunts, so her experience likely surpassed Samuel's.

Sophia was also stunned by Victoria's smooth actions, but she quickly masked her surprise with a mocking tone, "So what if you got on? You'll be thrown off soon enough."

Despite Victoria's proficiency, Sophia believed her own reindeer-riding experience was superior.

When she first bought Queen, she had whipped the reindeer harshly, thinking it would obey.

Instead, Queen threw her off after just a few steps, resulting in a broken ankle and two months of limited mobility.

If Queen hadn't been so expensive, Sophia would have had it slaughtered for meat.

She wasn't the first to fail at taming Queen and return it, and she was certain Victoria wouldn't succeed either.

However, Queen seemed to take a liking to Victoria, nuzzling her palm with its antlers and twitching its ears affectionately.

Sophia frowned but quickly reassured herself: just because Queen wasn't resisting now didn't mean Victoria could make it run.

Sure enough, Queen was just pawing the ground, not moving forward at all.

Declan approached Victoria, "Ms. Hamilton, you see Queen isn't used to being ridden. Maybe you should switch to another one?"

Victoria shook her head, observing Queen closely. She noticed it was shaking its head impatiently, likely due to the discomfort of the bit.

She reached out, loosened the reins, and removed the bit from Queen's mouth, gently asking, "Is that better?"

Declan quickly intervened, "No, you can't! Without the reins, Ms. Hamilton, it's dangerous!"

The reins controlled the reindeer's direction and speed, causing pain when pulled tight to make the reindeer obey.

Without them, the reindeer would go wherever it wanted.

Victoria casually tossed the reins to the ground.

Freed from the restraint, Queen shook its head and let out a cheerful snort, kicking up snow with its front hooves.

Victoria leaned forward, almost lying on Queen's back, and whispered something in its ear.

Then she turned to Declan with a smile, "Start the timer."

Declan instinctively pressed the timer.

With a loud neigh, Queen took off like the wind. Snow flew up in their wake as Victoria and the reindeer quickly disappeared from sight.

Samuel and the others hurried into a nearby SUV to follow and ensure Victoria's safety.

"Step on it!" Samuel urged, and Nick, in the driver's seat, floored the gas pedal, the SUV speeding after them.

Sophia, covered in snow, spat out the dirt and glared at Victoria's retreating figure.

"Riding without reins? You think you're lucky? You'll fall off and break something for sure!"

Meanwhile, Victoria was on Queen's back, the wind blowing her hat off and her long hair streaming behind her, making her lips look redder and her cheeks more radiant.

In the snowy landscape, Victoria riding the galloping reindeer was a breathtaking sight.

Samuel rolled down the window, leaning out with a megaphone, "Victoria, your safety is the most important!"

Victoria heard Samuel and glanced back, raising a hand to show she understood.

Eric, in the back seat of the SUV, opened the sunroof and stood up, capturing the moment Victoria looked back with his camera.

From their distance, they could only see her silhouette, but through the zoom lens, Eric could clearly see Victoria's face and the bright, determined look in her eyes, filled with a desire for victory and a sense of freedom like the wind.

Eric's heart skipped a beat.

1.24 miles wasn't a short distance, but for a reindeer, it only took about three minutes.

In less than three minutes, Sophia had only eaten half her yogurt when she saw Victoria returning.

She blinked in disbelief, "What is that?"

A bodyguard squinted and replied in surprise, "That woman is back, Ms. Britton!"

Sophia saw it clearly too—Victoria was riding that damn reindeer back, and fast!

She angrily threw her yogurt bowl to the ground and stood up, "How many minutes has it been? She couldn't have fallen off?"

Declan checked the timer, "Two minutes and thirty seconds!"

Sophia's record was two minutes and fifty-three seconds, so Victoria had a good chance of beating it!

Queen crossed the finish line, and the timer stopped at two minutes and thirty-eight seconds.

Declan cheered, "Congratulations! You broke our previous record with just two minutes and thirty-eight seconds!"

Victoria dismounted from Queen, letting it go for a drink. The reindeer was steaming from the exertion, and staff quickly came over to cool it down.

Sophia stared at Victoria with wide eyes, muttering, "This is impossible! Absolutely impossible!"

According to her plan, Victoria should have been thrown off halfway and needed rescuing, which would have taken a lot of time.

Victoria returning so quickly meant she hadn't run the full course. Yes, that must be it!

She suddenly pointed at Victoria and shouted, "You cheated! You didn't run the whole course! Queen is too old to beat my record!"
