The Inescapable Celibate Heir Chapter 155: Crushing Defeat
Jasmine couldn't hold back any longer and asked Ella, "Why are you just standing there? There's no one on your side. That 'YwnLegend' was just fighting me for resources. They were ganging up on me, and none of you came to help. How am I supposed to win like this?"
Ella smiled sheepishly and said, "I'm coming over now. I was just worried 'YwnLegend' might be hiding in the bushes again."
But by the time she arrived, it was too late. The enemy team had already reached Jasmine, and she was surrounded and killed by three opponents.
When Ella got there, she was also ambushed and killed, making her attempt to help a suicide mission.
"Damn it!" Ella let out a frustrated scream. The final blow had come from 'YwnLegend' again. She hated the name and hated the player even more!
The team fight started, and in the chaos, Victoria finally died once, with Ella landing the final hit.
Ella laughed maniacally and typed furiously in the chat: [YwnLegend, you jerk, I finally killed you!]
Victoria looked at her grayed-out screen and had time to respond in the chat: [Wow, look at your stats. 7 deaths and only 1 kill? If I were that bad, I'd quit the game. Are you a noob or something? Celebrating over one kill...]
Ella's face flushed with anger as she looked at her pathetic stats. [Noob? Your whole team's a bunch of noobs!]
Ella wanted to continue arguing but noticed their base crystal was about to be destroyed.
She hurried back to defend, but it was too late. The crystal exploded, and the screen turned gray with a big "Defeat" in the center.
Meanwhile, Victoria, who had just respawned, smiled at the big "Victory" on her screen. It seemed her teammates hadn't let her down, and their cooperation was excellent.
Ella kept ranting, "I'm so mad! I wish I could drag that 'YwnLegend' over here and give them a piece of my mind!"
Jasmine, being more composed, checked "YwnLegend"s profile carefully.
She suddenly discovered that the player was also from Sunhaven and had ranked high on the leaderboard with several heroes two years ago.
It seemed they hadn't played in a while, which explained their occasional clumsy moves but excellent game sense.
Vivian, who had been playing support casually and wasn't as angry, tried to calm them down, "Ella, don't be mad. It's just a random match. The opponent might be some broke, ugly creep."
Ella said, "His playstyle is so pathetic. Definitely a loser who's miserable in real life. Whatever, I'm not wasting my time on him. People like that, in reality, don't even deserve to speak to me."
Jasmine said, "No, I just checked her profile. She's a girl. And she used to have a title, which means she could make money even if she was playing for someone else."
Ella was taken aback. Although she wasn't playing well herself, she knew the significance of a title, indicating the opponent's high skill level.
But she still stubbornly said, "That was a long time ago. Her skills must have declined. Besides, she might have bought the account."
Vivian suddenly got an idea. "Why don't we just invite them over and ask? Then we'll know for sure if it's a guy or a girl."
Victoria was about to start another match when an invite popped up. Curious about what they wanted to say, she accepted.
As soon as "YwnLegend" entered the room, Ella immediately turned on her mic, "Wow, you have guts. Are you here to get yelled at? You can ambush, but you don't dare to turn on your mic?"
Jasmine asked, "Is this account yours, or did you buy it?"
Victoria was stunned. The voices sounded familiar.
She recognized Ella's voice immediately, and while Jasmine's voice wasn't as familiar, she could guess. It turned out to be them.
She didn't get along with them at school, and now she ran into them in the game. Thinking about how she had just made Ella and Jasmine rage, Victoria felt even more victorious.
She quickly opened a small program, installed a voice changer, and put on her microphone, saying, "What does it matter to you? Losing and then opening a voice room to yell at people, how shameless."
The voice that came out was a deep, magnetic male voice, with a hint of coldness. Jasmine was taken aback.
A guy playing a female account? Either he had peculiar tastes, or he bought the account.
Ella sneered, "I told you the opponent was a creepy guy. Listen, I wasn't wrong. He definitely bought the account."
Victoria replied playfully, "Are you upset about losing? How about we do a one-on-one mode? If any of you three can beat me, I'll apologize to you. If I win, you call me a legend three times."
Jasmine scoffed, "You think you're worthy?"
She had initially thought the opponent was a high-level player and wanted to recruit him to her team, but now that she thought he bought the account, there was no need to be polite.
Victoria said, "I'm not worthy? Then what does that make you, losing to me?"
With that, she left the voice room. Although she regretted not being able to continue beating them, she didn't want to waste too much time on them.
After all, she wanted to enjoy the game more, and playing with people of similar skill levels was much more fun.
