The Inescapable Celibate Heir Chapter 165: Jasmine's Scheming
Victoria was savoring her dessert, her mind drifting back to how Nick had devoured the raw turkey earlier.
Jasmine had only apologized to Samuel, and her demeanor was oddly coy.
Suddenly, a mischievous glint appeared in her eyes, and she shot Samuel a playful smile.
Ethan, noticing her expression, leaned in and whispered, "What's on your mind?"
Victoria stifled a giggle. "Can't tell you," she teased.
Just then, a flash of lightning lit up the sky. Despite it being afternoon, the outside world was dark and foreboding.
Victoria glanced at the illuminated trees outside the window and casually remarked, "You guys really went out of your way to deliver the turkey in this storm."
"Aren't you worried about getting into an accident? Like, getting struck by lightning?" She said this with a smile, her eyes fixed on Tony, as if she was just curious.
Tony smiled politely. "We saw the rain had let up a bit and there was no thunder, so we hurried over. The weather on this island changes so quickly; you never know when the storm will ease up."
Victoria lowered her gaze, a knowing smile playing on her lips. She realized Jasmine's plan.
Jasmine had intentionally undercooked the turkey to have an excuse to make another one.
Roasting a turkey takes one to two hours, and by then it would be almost dark, with thunder and rain outside.
Samuel would definitely invite them to stay for dinner, and then they could spend the night here. Jasmine's target was her own brother: Samuel.
Understanding this, Victoria took another bite of her dessert and said, "Samuel, I have some things to take care of, so I'll head upstairs."
Jasmine would likely wait until the turkey was done before making her move, or even wait until everyone was resting at night, so there was no need for her to stay here now. She could go back to her usual game training for now.
As Victoria stood up, Ethan and the others also mentioned they had things to do and went upstairs one by one.
Only Samuel remained with Tony in the living room, while Jasmine busied herself in the kitchen, determined to make a good impression on Samuel.
Samuel lounged casually on the sofa and asked Tony about school, "I heard you and Victoria are classmates?"
Tony nodded. "Yeah, we're in the same acting class."
Samuel looked at him more closely. "You don't seem like someone who enjoys acting."
Tony lowered his head with a bitter smile. "It's not that I like it, it's my mom who does. But I'm thinking about changing my major."
"I hope to become someone like you in the future." He said this with a look of admiration towards Samuel.
Samuel chuckled. "Young man, the sooner you know what you want, the better."
Tony seemed polite, knew his boundaries, and had ambition and sincerity in his eyes. Unlike his twin sister, who was reckless and odd. No wonder Victoria didn't like her.
Tony wanted to express his admiration for Samuel further. He had been researching Samuel's work over the past few days and was genuinely impressed by his insights and vision in investment.
His admiration was sincere, not an act, as his acting skills weren't that polished yet.
However, Samuel's phone rang. He glanced at the caller ID and said to Tony, "I have some work to handle. Make yourself at home."
Tony nodded politely and let him go.
Samuel went upstairs to take the call, which wasn't urgent; he just needed an excuse to leave.
Tony watched Samuel disappear around the corner upstairs before heading to the kitchen to find Jasmine.
"Jasmine, what's your plan?" Tony asked directly, seeing no one else in the kitchen.
He knew Jasmine's cooking skills weren't so bad that she'd undercook a turkey by accident; she must have done it on purpose.
Jasmine put the prepared turkey into the oven and turned around with a smug smile. "Tony, did you notice the rain getting heavier outside?"
Tony nodded. "You want to use this as an excuse to stay here? But what's the point? You ruined the turkey; his first impression of you can't be good."
Jasmine walked closer and discreetly pulled out a small transparent bag from her pocket, containing red powder.
She lowered her voice and said, "Tony, look at this."
Tony looked closely, and when he saw the letters on the bag, his face suddenly changed. Jasmine was holding an aphrodisiac!
He grabbed her wrist, somewhat nervously asking, "Where did you get this?"
Jasmine broke free and put the bag back in her pocket, speaking calmly, "I found it in the bathroom of Mom's guest room."
Jessica had hosted several parties on her island, and many people in the entertainment industry liked to use drugs for one-night stands.
Jasmine had researched it; this drug only aroused men's desires without harming their bodies.
Tony spoke seriously, "Jasmine, you don't need to degrade yourself like this. Drugging Samuel to get him into your bed won't make him genuinely like you or treat you well."
Jasmine laughed. "Tony, I don't need him to like me. I just need him to take responsibility for me, give me money and resources. I'm the daughter of the Murphy family; I'm not someone who can be slept with casually."
Jasmine's plan wasn't entirely irrational. Samuel wasn't the type to play around with women. In the previous life, he had been drugged and had sex with Jasmine.
Since their families were close, and the Hamilton family had a good reputation, he eventually got engaged to Jasmine.
With the Hamilton family as her backing, Jasmine thrived in the entertainment industry.
Unfortunately, in the previous life, Victoria hadn't returned to the Hamilton family, and Samuel had come to the island alone.
So he was closer to Tony and Jasmine and had no guard against Jasmine, a newly adult girl, which led to him falling into her trap.
Now, with Victoria and others around, could Jasmine's plan still succeed?
