The Inescapable Celibate Heir Chapter 194: Coincidence?

5 min 113.9K views

Lily was also attending a birthday party, but it wasn't for Sophie and Willow. It was for her junior, Maggie Baldwin.

Maggie was the daughter of her dance teacher, Dena Baldwin, and she also studied dance.

However, Maggie wasn't particularly talented, and Dena, who doted on her daughter, never pressured her to win any awards in the dance field.

Lily actually looked down on her spoiled and lazy junior a bit, but out of respect for her teacher, she never showed her disdain for Maggie in front of others.

Victoria and Sophie arrived at the hotel first. Before the car even stopped, they saw two large posters at the entrance.

One wished Sophie and Willow a happy birthday, and the other wished Maggie a happy birthday.

As soon as Sophie saw the posters, she exclaimed, "Ugh, Maggie's here too?"

Victoria turned to her, puzzled. "Who's she? You don't get along?"

Sophie pounded the seat in frustration. "Maggie is Willow's nemesis!"

Victoria nodded seriously, signaling her to continue.

It turned out that when Willow first started college, she had a suitor named Paul Garner. He was gentle and considerate, confessing his feelings to Willow multiple times, each time in a very romantic way.

Willow, being cautious by nature, was gradually moved by him. On the day she decided to accept Paul's feelings, she saw him carrying Maggie to the hospital.

Apparently, Maggie had been accidentally knocked down and injured by Paul. For the next few days, Paul brought Maggie food every day, took her out, and cared for her meticulously.

Maggie, who was lively and loved to act cute, became very dependent on Paul. After she recovered, she hinted to Paul that she liked him.

Soon, Paul confessed to her, and they announced their relationship on social media.

When Willow saw the news, she felt disgusted. She hadn't been deeply in love with Paul, so she wasn't heartbroken. But Maggie often flaunted her relationship in front of Willow on purpose, making her feel sick.

Maggie did it on purpose because she hated Willow and Sophie.

Dena saw Diana as a rival and had hoped her daughter could surpass Diana's fame. Unfortunately, Maggie's dance talent was far inferior to Willow's and Sophie's, and Dena had scolded her for it. Unable to rebel against her mother, Maggie resented Willow and Sophie instead.

As they walked into the hotel, Sophie was still complaining, "Maggie's birthday isn't even today. She chose today on purpose to show off in front of Willow. It's so infuriating! Let's hurry in and support Willow."

Sophie was starting to regret not coming to the hotel with Willow.

Victoria nodded in agreement with Sophie's speculation.

Sure enough, when they reached the hall, they saw two groups of people arguing.

A row of screens divided the hall into two sections. The left side was for Willow and Sophie's birthday party, and the right side was Maggie's area.

But Maggie and a few girls were sitting at a table on the left, rudely eating snacks and littering the floor with fruit peels and seeds.

When Willow asked them to leave, Maggie said, "I thought my boyfriend had booked the whole place. I didn't know you were having a birthday party here too."

One of Maggie's friends chimed in, "Oh, you both have birthdays today? What a coincidence."

Maggie giggled, "No, my birthday isn't today. But Paul is going abroad in a few days, so he planned an early celebration for me. He arranged the hotel and the party, so everyone, feel free to enjoy."

Someone said enviously, "Maggie, your boyfriend is so good to you. He must really love you."

Maggie smiled happily, "Yes, he does. Speaking of boyfriends, Willow, do you have one? Or are you still single? Paul and I have been together for almost a year, and we're planning to get engaged."

"Willow, you should stop thinking about other people's boyfriends. Paul said he likes me much more because I'm lively and pretty."

Her friends looked at Willow in surprise, not expecting such a complicated history between them.

Willow looked at her expressionlessly and said, "We're not close. No one cares about your love life. This is my reserved area, so please leave, or I'll call security."

One of Maggie's friends whispered, "Didn't the poster outside say the first-floor hall? Why is she saying this is her place?"

The poster clearly indicated that Maggie's party was to the right, but they hadn't paid attention.

Victoria and Sophie entered at that moment. Sophie rushed to Willow's side and pointed at Maggie, shouting, "Are you blind? The poster outside clearly says your area is on the right. Are you an idiot who can't tell left from right?"

Maggie's face darkened, and she snapped, "Do you have any manners? You shouldn't insult people without understanding the situation. Is this how the Russell family raises their daughters?"

Willow scoffed, "We don't usually let freeloading, rude beggars into our home."

Maggie trembled with anger. She had just been called a beggar!

She was about to retort when the hotel manager hurried over and whispered in her ear, "Ms. Baldwin, your seats are on the other side. Let me show you to your table. This area is reserved by other guests, and we shouldn't disturb them."
