The Inescapable Celibate Heir Chapter 43: Invitation

Ella stared at the numbers on the elevator display as it climbed higher and higher.

She lived on the second-to-top floor of the Lavender Fields Manor apartments. The higher the floor, the pricier the rent.

She just hoped Victoria lived on a lower floor than her, so she could still feel superior.

But the elevator didn't stop until it hit the top floor, the 21st.

Lila blurted out, "No way, that bitch Victoria lives on the top floor! I heard the top floor of Lavender Fields Manor is a symbol of Sunhaven status, never rented out, and even the owner's identity is kept secret!"

Ella's face fell.

Noticing this, Natalia quickly tugged on Lila's sleeve, signaling her to zip it.

The three of them waited a bit, then got into the elevator and arrived at the 20th floor, where Ella rented her apartment.

There was only one unit per floor, with two elevators. Ella had deliberately waited earlier to see which floor Victoria lived on.

As soon as they walked in, Natalia and Lila gushed, "Ella, your place is so spacious and luxurious!"

After a round of compliments, Ella's mood finally lifted.

Ella treated them to good food and drinks, even letting them try on some of her new clothes, saying they could keep whatever fit them.

Lila was super happy and relaxed, and she sighed, "If the 20th floor is this luxurious, I wonder what the top floor is like. It would be great if we could get invited up there."

Ella shot her a cold look.

Lila quickly hid her envy and awkwardly smiled, "Ella, do you think your parents feel guilty towards her and secretly bought her an apartment?"

No way, Ella shook her head. With her efforts, Brian and Joan had realized that Victoria was a cunning and malicious woman who only caused trouble. They would never support Victoria.

Besides, they didn't even buy her the top floor, so how could they buy it for Victoria?

Natalia also started guessing, "Could it be Ethan?"

It must be him. He had stood up for Victoria before! Among the people they knew, only Ethan had such decisive actions.

What did Victoria do to attract Ethan? This didn't happen in her previous life!

He should get tired of her soon. With Ethan's family background, there was no way he could have a future with an ordinary girl.

Ella could only think this way to comfort herself.

Natalia said, "Ella, don't be upset. We despise such shameless tactics. Spending your own money is more reassuring."

Lila added, "Exactly, Ethan might be with her for a few days, but once he leaves, she'll have nothing."

When Nick learned that Victoria had moved into Lavender Fields Manor, he also wanted to join the fun.

Victoria looked at the expansive floor-to-ceiling windows with a wide view. On both sides of the balcony were gardens maintained by professionals, with a long swing hanging there, like a place where fairies lived.

She took out Flora and gently placed it on the ground. Flora ran towards the sunny windowsill, skidding to a stop but still crashing and tumbling.

Victoria laughed out loud.

After instructing Lyanna that Nick and the others would be coming over, Victoria sat on the swing.

Her personal butler soon arrived, preparing drinks and snacks for her.

When Nick and the others arrived, they saw Victoria swinging on the balcony, holding a leopard in her arms, with light and shadow playing on her face, looking as beautiful as a painting.

Nick looked around and nodded in approval, "This place is really nice. No wonder Ethan bought a unit here."

Eric said, "Tell your dad to buy you one too."

Nick pouted, "My dad doesn't spoil me like that. He'd just kick me out."

Victoria lightly touched the ground and stopped, "Make yourselves at home. Does Ethan live here too?"

Roy, lounging on the sofa, casually pointed across, "Coincidentally, he lives right across from you."

They casually picked up drinks and snacks from the coffee table.

Victoria looked at Ethan, meeting his intense gaze. She blinked and then looked away.

Nick, sipping his cola, excitedly said, "Actually, Ethan doesn't come here often. That place is purely for fun, with all kinds of games to play!"

Ethan had even installed a fully automated smart home system complete with a robot butler. At home, he simply issued commands and never had to lift a finger.

Ethan lightly tapped the coffee table, "I might come here more often."

Victoria looked at him in confusion, "Then where do you usually live?"

Ethan replied, "My house."

Nick explained, "Ethan's family lives in that famous estate, The Smith Mansion."

The Smith family was at the center of power in Aerion, naturally living in the center of Sunhaven.

The Smith family possessed not only power and wealth but also a sterling reputation.

Ethan was truly favored by the gods; fortune always smiled upon him.

Victoria pondered. In her previous life, while filming, she had visited similar estates, probably former officials' residences, grand and elegant, which she quite liked.

Noticing her interest, Ethan offered, "Would you like to visit?"

Victoria raised an eyebrow, "I didn't say that."

Nick eagerly replied, "Yes, let's go! I haven't been there many times either. Victoria, you should agree, and let's go together."

Eric, playing with a soda can tab, tossed it into the trash and joked, "Let's go when Mr. Smith isn't home, or I won't be able to chill and have fun."

Sensing their enthusiasm, Victoria also wanted to see it, so she agreed.

But it would have to wait until after she officially joined the Snooker club.

When they left, the elevator stopped on the 20th floor.

As the doors opened, Ella saw the Charming Four inside. Surprised, she was also convinced of her suspicion that Victoria had relied on Ethan to move in.

However, Ella only dared to discuss it privately now, not daring to spread it around. What if Ethan went crazy and got her expelled too?

Ella and her friends didn't dare enter the elevator, claiming they had forgotten something. The people inside didn't respond, and the doors quickly closed.

On the way back to school, they witnessed a minor car accident.

A little girl had been knocked over by a bicycle, her knee scraped and bleeding, sitting on the ground crying.

The girl was only about seven or eight years old, with pigtails and a pink cartoon backpack.

The man on the bicycle, seeing that the girl's parents weren't around, not only didn't apologize but also cursed at her and tried to ride away.

Sensing something was wrong, Victoria threw her large shoulder bag at him.

The bag, containing a heavy textbook, hit the man, causing him to lose balance and fall off the bike.

"Who's the crazy one!" The man got up, cursing, "Who dares to hit me!"

He turned and saw Victoria, with four tall, wealthy-looking young men behind her.

His voice weakened, "Damn it, so what if you're rich? Fine, I'll let it go today."

He tried to leave with his bike.

Nick stepped forward and grabbed the bike's handlebars, "You think you can just leave after hitting someone?"
