Ella smirked, "Check it out, this chick's hit rock bottom, working as a waitress. She even has to smile when someone buys a tiny dessert. How pathetic!"

Realizing she was laughing a bit too loudly, Ella quickly covered her mouth and said with fake composure, "I can't believe it. Victoria's really ended up working here. Let's go support her business."

Lila and Natalia exchanged glances and laughed smugly.

The three of them ignored the long line and strolled right into the store.

Victoria glanced at them but kept doing her job.

Ella strutted to the counter and said dramatically, "Victoria, why are you working here? If you go back and apologize, Mom and Dad will definitely forgive you. Even though you're not my real sister, our family is kind and won't let you starve. I mean, I can't even stand seeing a beggar go hungry."

Ella's words made it sound like Victoria had done something wrong and got kicked out by her adoptive parents.

Instantly, the customers in the store turned their attention, eager for some juicy gossip.

Natalia and Lila chimed in.

"Ella, you're so kind. Victoria's tried to screw you over so many times, yet you still worry about her."

"Yeah, Victoria's ungrateful and totally deserves this!"

Victoria was amused by their words. Ella was relentless, always meddling.

Mira walked by with a cake and sneered, "Excuse me! If you're not ordering, don't block the way. Please leave."

Ella covered her mouth and smirked, "Of course, we'll order. Victoria, why don't you introduce us to the menu? It's your job, after all."

Victoria cleared her throat, "Please get in line. Can't you see everyone else is waiting?"

The people in line were also annoyed.

"Hey, you three! You look like good students, but how can you be so rude and cut in line?"

"Yeah, there's a line here. You just cut in. That's shameless!"

Ella, eager to mock Victoria, had indeed forgotten to queue.

Someone recognized Ella as one of the top ten candidates for Campus Queen.

For the Campus Queen competition, she had taken special artistic photos, edited them to perfection while retaining her features. It wasn't entirely deceptive.

Seeing her apologize, the crowd's criticism subsided.

Ella then smiled and said, "To show my apology, I'll treat everyone to desserts. I'll cover all today's expenses. I hope you can forgive my rudeness."

Mira overheard and exclaimed, "Ms. Ella Scott, are you planning to back out? Did you only offer to treat because you thought there wouldn't be enough desserts?"

Ella couldn't admit that. She forced a smile, "Of course not. I'll keep my promise."

Victoria snapped her fingers, "Bingo!"

Then Ella and her friends stood by the counter, watching customers take their desserts and thank her.

A quick-witted person asked Ella if she would treat the next batch of customers too.

Ella thought, 'Since I'm already spending money, I might as well get more votes.' She smiled and said, "Yes, I'll treat everyone. Just don't forget to vote for me while enjoying your desserts!"

The girl screamed and called her roommates and classmates to get free desserts, voting for Ella immediately.

Finally, it was almost Ella's turn.

At that moment, a disheveled man with a messy beard and a blue forget-me-not pinned to his chest walked in.

It was Ryan. He planned to order a dessert and wait for "X" in the store.

Seeing Ryan approach, Lila looked disgusted, "He looks so dirty. Is he a beggar? Victoria, why don't you kick him out!"

Victoria didn't look up and indifferently said, "We serve all customers equally. If you can't stand it, you can leave."

She looked up and saw the forget-me-not on his chest, chuckling. So it was him.

Ryan felt a warmth in his heart at Victoria's friendly smile.

He had seen many people like Lila who looked down on him. He didn't smell bad, just looked unkempt. Victoria not only didn't mind but also stood up for him against other customers. This was a first.

Lila frowned, "Victoria, Ella is the one paying!"

As Ryan got closer, Ella covered her nose and stepped back, frowning, "Forget it, Lila. Victoria needs to make money, so she has to endure it."

Natalia comforted her, "Yeah, she's fallen to being a waitress. How different is she from a beggar? Don't bother with her."

Charlotte came out with another cart of desserts and stood up straight, "What waitress? Are you talking about Victoria? She's the owner of this store. I'm just the manager working for her."

Charlotte rolled her eyes, "How dare you speak so vulgarly? You look down on working people. Are you a parasite of society? If you keep talking like this, I'll inform your school!"

Ella and her friends were speechless with anger.

Seeing Victoria's calm expression, they started to believe it but didn't want to.

Ella thought, 'If she really is the owner, then the money I spent today went into Victoria's pocket.'

Ella couldn't suppress her fury as she glared at Victoria.

Victoria smirked, "Ella, thank you for your generosity today."

Ella turned away, refusing to look at her.

Ryan came to order. He got a signature tiramisu cake shaped like a raccoon, very cute, with a cup of black coffee.
