The Inescapable Celibate Heir Chapter 143: Going to the Island
Seeing Samuel return with a defeated look on his face, Victoria cautiously asked, "She still wants to leave?"
Samuel nodded, "Yeah. Frostholm's a no-go; your body can't handle it."
Victoria sighed and agreed. After spending over half a month in Lytheria, surrounded by snow and ice every day, she was getting a bit tired of it.
Plus, she had already seen the Northern Lights, and since Calista wasn't going to Frostholm, she had no reason to insist on going.
Nick perked up, "Hey, I remember Samuel has an island. It's warm there right now. How about we head there, soak up some sun, and go snorkeling?"
The island was in the middle of summer, perfect for a getaway.
Eric, lounging lazily, added, "I'm down."
Ethan chimed in, "Sounds good. What about you, Victoria?"
Victoria smiled, "Sure, I'm feeling lazy all over right now. I just want to lie on the beach and soak up the sun."
In the end, Samuel decided they would head back to the city first, rest for a day, and then head to the island to start their relaxing, warm island life.
Meanwhile, Ella and her parents were returning from Zantria.
Over the past few days, she and Joan had been shopping non-stop, hitting up all the luxury stores. Luxury goods in Zantria were quite cheap, and they were practically there to stock up.
Ella posted eight updates a day, each time showing off the pile of luxury items she had bought, along with meticulously edited selfies.
Many classmates complimented her on her wealth and beauty, expressing their envy.
Especially after she attended the high-end auction, she took hundreds of photos and posted them over three days.
People who didn't know better might have thought she attended the auction for three consecutive days.
Even though she sat in the back row, she edited the photos so meticulously that it looked like she was sitting in the front row.
Before leaving, Ella made a point to call Jasmine to keep in touch.
Ella said, "Jasmine, how's the island? I'm having such a blast in Zantria. This place is perfect for me. Everyone on the streets dresses so fashionably, and the bags and clothes are so cheap."
"Not bad, just sunbathing by the beach," Jasmine interrupted Ella's endless bragging, knowing Ella didn't really care about her.
Ella continued, "Sunbathing is so relaxing. By the way, did you see my photos? I bought so many things, especially the beaded bracelet my parents got me. It cost 2.5 million dollars! I told them it was too expensive, but they insisted on buying it for me, hahaha."
Jasmine rolled her eyes. Ella always made a point to casually show off her top-tier jade beaded bracelet.
So what if it cost 2.5 million dollars? Even though Jasmine didn't have such jade, everyone knew jade beads weren't as valuable as bangles.
Ella's parents were clearly clueless and got ripped off. The beaded bracelet, while pretty, definitely weren't worth that much.
Ella was so clueless. Bragging about the same thing once was enough; doing it every day was just tacky.
If it weren't for the fact that the other socialites in Sunhaven shunned Jasmine for being an illegitimate child, Jasmine wouldn't bother being friends with Ella.
A person without close friends was too pitiful; at least on the surface, they had to appear close.
Her mom had taught her that your social media presence was part of your persona. So Jasmine forced a smile and replied, "I saw them. They're beautiful. Your parents are so good to you."
Ella smiled contentedly, "When you get back, we should meet up. It look even better in person. Photos don't do it justice. By the way, when are you coming back?"
Jasmine replied, "Not sure, within ten days, I guess." Jessica had work commitments and had left long ago.
Currently, it was just her and Tony on the island. With not much to do on the island besides sunbathing and swimming, she was quite bored.
But she had to pretend she was enjoying a relaxing island vacation, posting a carefully edited update every day.
Victoria and her group packed their luggage. Since Samuel's island had a helipad, they flew directly to the island on a private jet.
Samuel's plane was fully equipped, with fresh fruit, snacks, and drinks restocked before picking them up, along with professional butler service.
The 20-hour flight was very comfortable, with everyone sleeping well and eating to their satisfaction.
That morning, after breakfast, Victoria glanced out the window. She saw the deep blue sea dotted with small green islands.
She put down her napkin and asked, "Are we there yet?"
Ethan nodded, "Almost."
Samuel's island was called "Sol," meaning "radiant," as it was the largest and most beautiful among the surrounding islands.
Unfortunately, Samuel had bought it ten years ago and made it a private island, closed to the public.
The morning sun shone warmly through the plane windows, and Victoria felt the atmosphere here was vastly different from Lytheria. Sunbathing and enjoying the sea breeze here would be very relaxing.
Plus, since the island was Samuel's private property, there would be no outsiders to disturb their peace, aside from the staff.
As the plane circled above the archipelago, looking for the right moment to land, Jasmine was sunbathing on the beach, bored.
Her island, called "Goddess," was small but not far from "Sol." So when the plane flew by, she saw it.
She had arrived on an international flight and then taken a speedboat to Goddess Island because Jessica had only recently acquired the island, and it didn't have a helipad yet.
The plane flew low enough for Jasmine to easily recognize it as a large, luxurious private jet, the kind you could throw a party on. Its owner must be incredibly wealthy.
