The Inescapable Celibate Heir Chapter 161: Reporting
In the afternoon, Tony finally got a reply from the geological expert.
The email said the island they were living on was super dangerous and probably wouldn't survive the upcoming storm.
With the basement leaking so badly, there could be a landslide, and the buildings might collapse at any moment.
The expert advised them to leave the island ASAP.
As Tony was reading the email, he got a call from Jessica. She said she had no clue about the situation.
She had bought the island at half price, worried someone else would grab it, and hadn't really checked out the details.
They had lived there for a year without any problems, so why were Tony and Jasmine so unlucky now?
"Mom, I just got a reply from the geological expert. He says we need to leave right away. The island could collapse at any moment," Tony said.
Jessica, sounding worried, replied, "Your safety is the most important thing. You should follow the expert's advice and get out of here immediately. I'll deal with the real estate agent later about the island's issues!"
Tony rubbed his head and said, "Mom, Jasmine and I have already talked to the nearby transport companies, but none of them are willing to come to the island right now. The earliest they can come is after the storm, which is a week from now. We don't even know if we'll survive on this island until then."
He had spent the whole day gathering information while keeping it from the servants to avoid causing panic and trouble for himself.
But if they couldn't find a solution soon, the servants would quickly realize that the food was running out and the house was uninhabitable.
Jessica paced anxiously. "Oh no! What should we do? I'll ask your father if he has any connections to help you."
At that moment, Jasmine came into the study to find Tony and overheard the conversation.
She chimed in, "Mom, I saw Roy yesterday. He's on the island next to ours, and they have a big yacht. Call Dad and ask him to come get us!"
Jessica was puzzled. "Roy? What's he doing there?" She remembered hearing that the neighboring island was bought by the Hamilton family.
Tony explained, "The island and the yacht belong to Samuel. Roy's good friend Nick is his cousin, so they probably came to the island together for a vacation."
Jessica quickly said, "Alright, don't worry. I'll contact your father right away."
The Hamilton family and the Murphy family had a good relationship and occasionally did business together.
However, Jessica was not involved in the Murphy family's business dealings, so she didn't know much.
Knowing that Roy and Samuel were close enough to vacation together made her feel threatened.
But right now, her children's safety was the priority. Without them, she had no leverage in the Murphy family to claim any inheritance.
Jessica soon got in touch with Richard Murphy, Roy's father and the current head of the Murphy family.
She cried on the phone, making Tony and Jasmine's situation sound extremely dire, as if they were on the brink of death.
She also complained that Roy knew about their danger but didn't offer to help.
Richard rubbed his temples. He had just finished a shareholders' meeting and had a headache.
But Jessica's words caught his attention. He knew Roy didn't like Tony and Jasmine, but he couldn't believe his son would be so heartless.
He softened his tone and said, "Jessica, don't cry. I'll contact the Hamilton family right away. They'll definitely help out of respect for me. But are you sure there's no misunderstanding with Roy?"
Jessica knew he favored the son he had raised himself, and it wouldn't be easy to drive a wedge between them with just a few words.
But if she kept bringing it up, eventually, there would be a rift. So she sobbed, "Maybe I was too anxious and misunderstood Roy."
After hanging up, Richard contacted David directly. The two families had worked together for years, and David didn't hesitate in this emergency.
He immediately called Samuel, who didn't refuse either. "Sure, Dad. I'll send someone to pick them up right away."
Samuel dispatched the "Dawn Cruise Ship" to fetch Tony and Jasmine. The yacht was large enough to accommodate them and their servants.
After giving the instructions, Samuel went to inform Victoria and the others that some strangers would be coming to the island.
Victoria and the others were in the gaming room, engaged in a heated match. The sound of keyboards clacking filled the room.
Nick had just been killed in the game and took off his headset. "Samuel, what's up?"
Samuel waved for everyone to quiet down. "Tony and Jasmine from the Murphy family will be coming over soon. Mr. Richard Murphy called my dad directly, so I couldn't refuse."
Roy paused his game and checked his phone, seeing a missed call from Richard. He chuckled bitterly. "Looks like they complained about me to my dad."
Ethan patted Roy's shoulder and sneered, "Their island is collapsing because they were cheap and unlucky. It's not your fault. What does it have to do with you?"
Victoria turned down the game volume and scoffed, "Samuel, we're not going to have to live with them, are we?"
That wouldn't be a vacation; it would be a disaster. The thought of living with people she disliked made Victoria shake her head in dismay.
Samuel laughed and ruffled Victoria's hair. "Of course not. I have another villa halfway up the mountain. I've already arranged for them to stay there."
Samuel had only agreed to provide basic food and shelter, not to treat them as honored guests and ruin his and Victoria's relaxing vacation.
Roy sighed in relief. "Good. The thought of seeing them every day makes me sick."
Everyone laughed, realizing how much Roy disliked Tony and Jasmine.
They then resumed their game, pretending nothing had happened.
