The Inescapable Celibate Heir Chapter 94: The Heroine and the Servant
At that moment, Jasmine's voice boomed, "Yeah, Leon and my mom are super tight. They even did a TV show together. I met him when I was a kid, and he gave me candy."
"My mom says I don't have to wait for school to set anything up; if I want to act, she can make it happen anytime. But I want to study a bit more and get better at acting first. That way, I'll be doing right by myself and the audience."
Lila dramatically cupped her face, looking at Jasmine with envy. "Your mom is incredible! No wonder she was the most beautiful woman in Riverdale back in the day. I wish my mom was like that!"
Ella felt a pang of jealousy. The Scott family could give her plenty of money, but they had no connections in the entertainment industry.
If she had a mom like Jessica, she wouldn't have to compete with Victoria at school; she could just jump straight into acting and become famous.
She pressed her lips together and forced a friendly smile. "You can't say that. Jasmine works really hard too. She's beautiful and smart, a natural star. Jessica just makes her path smoother."
Jasmine beamed at their compliments, unable to stop smiling. "Ella, you're really pretty too. Don't worry, I'll introduce you to some industry veterans. You might even land a lead role. And for the rest of you, even if you can't be the lead, getting a supporting role or playing a servant is easy."
Hearing Jasmine's words, the surrounding classmates' eyes lit up as they crowded around her, praising her even more enthusiastically, hoping she could introduce them to some celebrities.
Someone even brought over a notebook, shouting, "Jasmine, can you sign this for me? When you become famous, this autograph will be worth a lot!"
Listening to their noisy, exaggerated laughter, Mira rolled her eyes. "That's so over the top. She hasn't even acted in a single show yet, and they're already fantasizing about fame and asking for autographs."
Victoria chuckled softly. "Ignore them. Let's go eat."
Mira nodded vigorously. "Sure, but I think the female lead should be someone like you. Ella's face looks more like a servant's. There's a huge gap between the Campus Queen rankings of first and tenth. I don't know where she gets her confidence."
Victoria smiled mysteriously and shook her head without saying anything.
Ella's confidence came from the fact that she had been reborn and knew many things that would happen.
Unfortunately for her, Victoria had also been reborn, and all of Ella's plans would fall apart.
Before the film crew arrived, Nexus College started registration for a community service event.
Nexus College held such events every year, though they weren't as popular as the Thanksgiving performance.
This year's event was about caring for the elderly. Students participating would go to Sunhaven Nursing Home to spend half a day with the residents, making them feel the warmth of the younger generation.
This year was a bit different. Students who did well in the community service event would get extra credit, which could offset any disciplinary actions.
Walter from the dance club had been disciplined during Thanksgiving. Even though his methods were rough, he did it for the dance club. So, the dance club members decided to help him earn points in this event to offset his punishment.
Even though Lily wasn't too keen on the event, she agreed to help.
Victoria didn't need to offset any disciplinary actions, but Mira dragged her into participating, and she agreed.
When they were submitting their registration forms, they ran into Elise from the snooker club, who looked troubled. Mira asked, "Elise, what's up?"
Elise looked up at them and sighed. "I've been caught skipping classes by several teachers, and my advisor wants to give me a warning. If my dad finds out, he won't let me off the hook and might cut off my allowance. How am I supposed to live? I wanted to join this community service event to offset the warning, but the dance club is all in to help Walter. How can I compete with them alone? It's so unfair!"
Victoria raised an eyebrow, her eyes gleaming with an idea. "Since the dance club is helping Walter, Elise, you can rally our snooker club to help you."
Elise said, "The guys in our club are all so proud. Not many would want to join this kind of event. I don't want to trouble everyone."
Victoria replied, "What if it wasn't just your problem, but a rivalry between the two clubs?"
Mira chimed in, "Yeah, Walter is such a jerk. He damaged our props and ruined everyone's hard work, almost injuring Victoria. Why should his punishment be lifted? Let's go to the club and get people to help. I'm sure many will be willing!"
Elise, encouraged by their words, went with them to the snooker club to rally support.
Eric decided that when Victoria and the others registered, they should put down everyone's names, and on the day of the event, any available members should go.
When Ella found out that Victoria wanted to help Elise earn points, she immediately told the dance club members, looking worried. "Even though there are only three of them, Victoria is very resourceful. We should be careful."
Jasmine dismissed her concerns. "Ella, you give Victoria too much credit. Don't worry, we'll definitely win this time."
After being punished to clean the bathrooms, Jasmine had developed a grudge against Victoria.
She initially planned to just have fun at the community service event, but knowing Victoria was participating ignited her competitive spirit.
She was determined to beat Victoria! Many in the dance club disliked Victoria, and they were all confident.
Losing to Victoria during Thanksgiving was a fluke; this time, they wouldn't let her steal the spotlight!
The next day, the event began.
Before heading to the nursing home, they had a small task: fishing in the river for two hours.
The fish they caught would be scored based on quantity and size, and the fish would be used to prepare a meal for the nursing home residents, enhancing their impression of the students and serving as a crucial part of the final evaluation.
