Christopher's voice was calming, "Don't sell yourself short, you're amazing."

When someone truly believed in themselves, their insecurities could just disappear, like clouds parting to reveal the sun, leaving behind hope and a bright future.

I smiled, feeling a sudden rush of confidence, and couldn't help but repeat to myself, "I am amazing!"

We wrapped up our conversation and were about to leave.

Christopher got a phone call and stepped aside to take it.

With nothing else to do, I wandered a bit further.

As I walked down a long corridor, I unexpectedly saw Cassius from yesterday.

I hoped he wasn't lost again.

I was about to approach him to check, but Cassius spotted me first. From his demeanor and clear eyes, it was obvious he was much better today.

"Mr. Blackwood, what are you doing here? Lost again?"

"I finally found you, young lady! Magnus, come over here! I told you about the kind young lady I met yesterday. You said we were lucky to have her. Well, here she is, come meet her!"

Cassius greeted me excitedly and then called out to someone in a nearby gazebo.

Magnus looked over at us.

I was surprised to see that the Magnus we were looking for was an old friend of Cassius, and they seemed to be quite close.

Magnus was cautious, his first reaction was, "You know me? So you approached him?"

I replied, "Mr. Callahan, that's not fair. Believe it or not, running into Mr. Blackwood was a complete coincidence. I was just looking for something to eat, having just gotten off a plane."

"Besides, Mr. Blackwood getting lost was an accident. If I had known you were friends, I would have taken him to you directly instead of the police."

Magnus still seemed skeptical, even sarcastic, "The person with you looks pretty smart. Who knows if you two planned this?"

"Buddy, what nonsense are you spouting? In the state I was in, she could barely recognize me. And you're so paranoid, always thinking someone's out to get you." Cassius couldn't help but tease Magnus.

Magnus glared at Cassius, "You fool, one day you'll get scammed and still thank the person for it."

"Sorry!" I couldn't help but laugh, enjoying their banter and the way they addressed each other.

My laugh caught their attention.

"I didn't mean to laugh. It's just that your relationship is so good, it's enviable. You have such affectionate nicknames for each other." I genuinely meant it.

Magnus seemed to relax a bit.

I turned my attention to Cassius, "I didn't expect you to recognize me, Mr. Blackwood. You shouldn't wander alone; it's safer to have someone with you."

Cassius patted his chest confidently, "Don't worry, I'm prepared. I saved your contact info and my family's numbers. No more incidents like last time."

I didn't mention it, but if his condition worsened, he might not even understand what those numbers were for.

I couldn't help but feel a pang of sympathy.

Cassius, being a cheerful person, didn't seem to mind or had come to terms with it.

He was more concerned about why I was looking for Magnus, "This guy is like me, grumpy but soft-hearted. No need to be nervous around him. By the way, why are you looking for Magnus?"

I explained our purpose without holding back.

Before Magnus could respond, Cassius excitedly said, "You always said you didn't have a good student and were afraid of being tricked. Now you have one, a pure and talented one. It's rare!"

I had researched Magnus and knew about his fear of being deceived.

Magnus once had a student who tried to sell his AI technology to Vanguard Motors, Inc. The student tricked him into signing a transfer agreement by getting Magnus drunk. But Magnus wasn't drunk; he had suspected the student's intentions and wanted to see for himself.

Facing the truth was still disappointing and painful.

Since then, his already eccentric personality became even more reclusive, and taking on students was out of the question.

Magnus said, "I swore I wouldn't take on any more students!"

Cassius replied, "That's childish. Two fingers don't make a vow. Besides, there's no time limit on your vow. It's expired. I'm telling you, you can take on a student now."

"What student? I haven't even seen them. How can you expect me to agree?"

"Do you need to see them? If this young lady recommends someone, they must be good. You might even be getting a great deal!" The two old men bickering was quite amusing, especially with one always defending me.

As they argued like children, Christopher returned from his call.

He looked at Magnus curiously, "What's going on here?" he asked in a low voice.

"Magnus is here, purely by coincidence. Yesterday, I helped a lost old man, who turned out to be Magnus's friend. So here we are!"

Christopher couldn't help but laugh, "Your kindness has truly paid off!"

I grinned, feeling that unexpected rewards were indeed a blessing.

Magnus still seemed hesitant.

But Cassius was determined to help me convince Magnus. He even offered his antique paintings, "You wanted those two paintings last time. If you agree to take on a student, they're yours."

Magnus was shocked, "You'd really give those up? Those antiques are worth a fortune. This young lady only gave you a sandwich. You're losing out."

"You don't get it. It's not about the value. It's about kindness and sincerity. Besides, I was starving. Without that sandwich, you might not have seen me again!"

Cassius stood his ground.

Magnus, perhaps thinking of Cassius's current condition, finally relented.

"Bring your person here. I'll decide after meeting them," Magnus concluded.
