"I don't get what you're saying." Stefan's eyes flickered, but he still denied it fiercely.

Paula's face showed impatience. "Looks like you don't know what's good for you. Fine, then you can fend for yourself."

She signaled to a few of her men, ready to have Stefan taken back for a good round of torture.

After giving the orders, she grabbed my arm to leave.

Seeing Paula about to leave, Stefan panicked.

"Don't go, Paula. We don't have to end up like this. A lose-lose situation helps no one, right?" Stefan shouted anxiously.

Paula dug at her ear, looking at him with a half-smile. "It's not a lose-lose situation. It's you losing, and I'm fine! How about this, for old times' sake, I'll give you one last chance. What did you use to threaten Helena?"

Stefan opened his mouth, looking like he still wanted to deny it.

Paula had anticipated this and cut him off. "This is your last warning. You know my patience is limited!"

Facing Paula's cold, deep eyes, Stefan swallowed hard, clearly choking back the words he was about to say.

Watching Paula handle him so effortlessly, I couldn't help but smile, waiting for Stefan to spill the truth.

After a moment, Stefan spoke. "I can tell you, but if I do, you can't do anything to me, okay?"

"Sure, as long as what you say is valuable." Paula agreed without hesitation.

I was still puzzled, but I didn't ask in front of Stefan.

Then Stefan said, "I used a video of Helena's sister to threaten her into helping me."

Hearing this, my fists clenched.

I didn't need to guess to know what kind of video it was.

What a scumbag!

Paula was more composed than I was, probably due to her experiences.

She asked coldly, "Where's the video?"

Stefan hesitated but under Paula's icy gaze, he obediently said it was stored on his computer's USB drive, with a password.

He also gave the password.

After he finished, he looked at Paula expectantly. "I've told you everything. Can you let me go now?"

Just as Paula was about to release him, I stopped her. "Wait!"

Stefan's hopeful eyes dimmed, and he glared at me fiercely.

This guy was a bully. When Paula noticed his glare, he immediately cowered like a mouse facing a cat.

I sneered and asked, "Is there a second copy?"

If he had another video, all this would be for nothing.

Stefan swore immediately, "Absolutely not."

Paula also said, "Don't worry, he wouldn't dare keep a second copy. Otherwise, I'll make sure Pippa knows about it."

Even though Stefan knew Paula had no evidence, he was still scared of her. He swore again that there was no second copy.

Paula waved her hand, and her men untied him.

Stefan, scared out of his wits, stumbled and ran as soon as he was free.

I then asked the question on my mind, "Are you really going to let Stefan go just like that?"

Knowing Paula, she never let grudges go. Letting this scumbag go seemed like a bad idea.

Paula suddenly waved her phone. "Of course not. I recorded his confession about Pippa. Even if it doesn't put Pippa in jail, it will at least disgust her. She'll definitely deal with Stefan herself."

She added, "With Pippa's ruthless methods, once I hand the video to the police and Helena, Stefan won't escape the law. He'll suffer in prison."

I couldn't help but give Paula a thumbs up. She truly had everything under control.

Paula appreciated my praise and even complimented me back. "Don't thank me. I should thank you. Without your help, Mr. Collins wouldn't have assisted me. He arranged everything, even the private room, to prevent Sloane from setting me up."

Paula also told me that Christopher had timed everything perfectly to ensure Paula's arrival at Tranquil Sands Retreat.

I was a bit surprised and had some strange thoughts.

Was Christopher doing this for me?

Then I felt ashamed for such a bold and self-indulgent thought.

He didn't know what happened that night, and there was no reason for him to compensate me. How could he possibly do all this for me?

Paula saw me lost in thought and shook my arm. "What are you thinking about so deeply? Are you considering offering yourself to Christopher because he's so good? I support you. You should seize such a great guy."

Paula must have misunderstood.

But Paula insisted. "Take it, or I won't feel comfortable asking for your help in the future."

The leader exchanged glances with his men and finally accepted the money.

Just then, Randy and Christopher returned.

Randy's eyes were fixed on Paula, looking at her several times, but he couldn't bring himself to speak.

Paula was cold towards Randy, not even giving him a second glance.

Instead, she thanked Christopher. "Mr. Collins, thank you for today. I have to go now. Please take care of Melinda and make sure she gets home safely. I'll treat you to dinner later."

Christopher nodded. "No problem. I'll make sure she gets home safely."

Paula felt reassured and waved at me before leaving.

Randy hesitated but eventually said goodbye to Christopher and followed Paula.

As a father, he couldn't help but worry about Paula.

Christopher watched Randy leave and said to me, "Mr. Ellis really cares about Paula. During our conversation, he was distracted and kept looking this way."

But the damage from the past was done.

Even if Randy cared about Paula now, it was probably because she was impressive.

Paula was so good that Randy noticed her.

I voiced my thoughts. "Mr. Ellis noticing Paula is a result of her hard work. There might be some care, but it's mostly because of Paula's abilities."
