Jason gave me a look that was hard to describe.

He probably thought I was really stupid.

"So your plan is to get yourself involved and then broadcast the trial to the entire nation?" Jason asked coldly.

I nodded, feeling a bit embarrassed. I could naturally sense the disdain in Jason's gaze.

After all, it wasn't a good plan, but I didn't have a better one at the time.

Jason's whole demeanor was somewhat gloomy. "Ms. Turner, clients like you are not likable! Have you ever thought about the possibility of losing your life..."

I looked at Jason with utmost trust. "I have considered that possibility, but isn't that why you're here? Paula introduced you, and she said you were very capable. I trust her judgment!"

As I said this, Paula had already entered the room, accompanied by Fallon.

I shrugged. "There you go. Christopher saved me; he's my benefactor. If someone heard what you said, they might think he saved me out of spite.

He and I are from completely different worlds, and someone as outstanding as Christopher could never be interested in someone like me. I've been divorced, I'm disheartened, and I have no intention of starting a new relationship."
