Mated to alpha triplets at all-boys school Chapter 108
Everett pov
The ladies in the kitchen are the coolest, kindest women I’ve ever met in my life. As soon as I stumbled inside and mumbled a lie about being one of the hired staff members, they all accepted me and took me in like one of their own.
While one of them ran off to find something more proper for me to wear, the others started telling me details about their lives, mainly focusing on boasting about their grandchildren and their achievements.
Here and there, Elias mind-links me to tell me more about his findings or to be more precise, lack thereof. It almost feels like we all have gotten ourselves into a very bad murder mystery investigation case and neither will ever get any closer to solving the crime.
“You look like such a great young man, darling. Tell me, have you found your mate yet?” One of the women appears at my side and nudged me, a bright smile nearly splitting her face.
I can’t help but chuckle at her question and visible enthusiasm. I don’t think any of them have any idea how much I crave to meet her or him. How desperate I am to feel that connection everyone describes, and how much I want to finally start a family of my own.
However, to all my needs and wants, there’s a catch. I’m so close to my brothers that I don’t know if I would ever have the strength to separate from them even for a couple of hours, let alone a lifetime build with someone else by my side.
I highly doubt a woman would be okay with sharing my attention with someone else. And besides, since the day we were born, we have never been apart and we share everything. And I mean absolutely everything. If the moon Goddess and fate are fair to us, we should get one mate for us all.
But then again, as perfect as the possibility sounds, I fear that might be yet another issue. I’ve heard about some twin Alphas finding their mates over the years - some had each one, and others had to share one, which again, brought them into more issues.
There are some left mateless now because the women couldn’t accept being with both at the same time and didn’t want to deal with the added pressure. Now, those Alphas have nothing but each other and they’re slowly isolating themselves from everyone day by day.
It’s sad to hear about someone who has given up so much, they rather disappear than keep fighting.
Then, there’s the other side of the page - Alphas, who found their fated mate, yet while the mate accepted them both, they turned against each other because both believed he deserved the mate more than his brother.
Either way, it’s a mess.
As my thoughts push me deeper into the void I would rather avoid, the woman next to me nudges me again, flashing me another warm smile. “It’s fine if you don’t want to tell us, I just wanted to have something to talk about so we can get to know you better. After all, we already shared so much about ourselves, it’s only fair we pry at you a little.”
I chuckle and shake my head, deciding an easy approach would benefit me the most. Also, I really don’t have to tell them about my brothers or pack, that way they’d find out I’m not supposed to be here. Nobody chats up their enemies.
“No,” I mutter and look down at her. “I haven’t met my mate yet, but I’m not giving up hope.”
Her eyes light up as she starts clapping her hands and the rest of the women laugh. “We have daughters and granddaughters we could introduce you to. Who knows, one of them might turn out to be the one and I’m sure all of us ladies here would feel proud to have a strong young Alpha as yourself joining their families. Think about it, darling.” She pats my shoulder, a little too affectionately.
I understand why they’re being like this. It’s not just the kindness they show someone they just met, but also the fact that every family dreams about their daughters being mated to Alphas - it’s a new social standing, better ranks, more money, power, you name it.
However, as desperate as I am for a mate at times, I can’t deny one thing. I want Ash. Not just for one night or a moment of desperation, but for good. If she were mine or our mate, we all would know that from the moment we met, but since that’s not the case, at least I can dream about someone I’ll never have.
She’s special. Has been special since the moment we met her, even pretending to be a guy. Ethan is the most open one of us all, so he never shies away from showing exactly how he feels, while Elias and I brood like absolute morons and hide our feelings. Funny fact - I think Elias has fallen for her too.
A slight smile tugs at my lips, but the women around me take it the wrong way and start cheering again. While my mind is overtaken by the one woman who managed to captivate me completely, they think I’m happy to meet their daughters and granddaughters. I’ll let them believe what they want to believe for now.
After all, once we find Ash, we’re grabbing her and getting the hell out of this shithole. I won’t ever have to come back to actually do anything these people want me to.
Something scratches at the back of my mind and I quickly realize it’s one of my brothers, trying to reach me. Once I open the link, I hear Ethan’s frantic voice, his words shattering any hopes we had earlier, when we decided to follow Ash and get her out.
That fucking bastard Kaiden kidnapped our Ash to make her his Luna queen and wife. That’ll happen over my dead fucking body.
As calmly as I can, I ask the women in the kitchen where the ceremony is happening and they’re more than happy to give me directions under the understanding that I want to catch a glimpse of their future Luna.
Elias and Ethan promise to be there shortly when I tell them where I’m heading and once I arrive at the ceremony room, I’m met with a horrified crowd and wailing Kaiden.
“What’s going on here? What did I miss?” I whisper to a younger woman, hidden in the crowd.
Her hand reaches up to grab my upper arm and a loud sound escapes her before she leans closer to whisper, “I’m not sure, but it looks like the mountain bears came here to take our prince’s bride. The brutes even attacked our poor Alpha.”
