Mated to alpha triplets at all-boys school Chapter 84
Ashley pov
Everett and Ethan follow in turn, jumping to their feet, ready to stand with their brother. And funny enough, so do I.
I didn’t think I could gather enough courage to stand toe to toe with Kaiden, but look at me, doing the very thing, glaring at the guy like I’m about to take his soul and snap it in half. Not a great move, I know, but what else am I supposed to do?
The triplets are literally tossing a challenge at the Royal family member because of some stupid shit he said about me, I can’t just stay aside and do nothing.. Right?
“Would you look at this,” Kaiden chuckles and crosses his arms in front of his chest, refusing to drop that stubborn, smug smile of his. “Is this a challenge, mutts? Have you forgotten who you’re talking to?”
Elias laughs, a bitter, cold laugh and steps closer to Kaiden. “Didn’t you just claim we’re all the same around here, huh? Are those not your words? Are you telling me that you were messing around and don’t stand by what you said just now? As soon as there’s a challenge thrown your way, you’re refusing to man up and stand by what you claim?”
Kaiden’s cheeks turn pink, I’m not sure if it’s the embarrassment or anger that makes him change color, but I don’t care that much either. To be fair, I don’t care at all for as long as the triplets remain safe.
“Ha, so - me, not wanting to play by your unfair rules means I’m not man enough to stick by my words now, that’s what you’re saying?” Kaiden asks, forcing the words through gritted teeth.
“The fuck are you on about?” Ethan growls.
Kaiden’s eyes dart to Ethan, a corner of his lip twitching. “What I’m saying is that right now, I stand alone against four dudes. How is that fair? Okay, one against three and a half me, but still. Equality is one thing, something I fuckin’ offered myself, but this bullshit you’re pulling ain’t fucking equality, morons.”
“Who’s the half man you’re talking about, maggot?” Everett asks, the tone of his voice low and dangerous. I sneak a glance at him and only now realize how truly dangerous this situation is - Everett isn’t the only of the triplets who looks like he’s about to drop any control he has.
To make matters worse, the triplets eyes are glowing, barely for now, but I know what this means - the Alpha wolves in them aren’t happy, they’re fighting to push over the edge and come out for a good fight.
The same moment, Kaiden looks at me and smirks, clearly implying I’m the supposed half man he’s talking about. I’d be offended if I really were a man, but honestly, his words don’t hold that much value in my life anyway so I don’t care.
The boys, however, they care. Shit they care…
Just as Elias pulls back his fist, about to swing it at Kaiden’s smug face, the headmaster appears out of the blue and starts screaming at us to stop.
Kaiden, the pathetic rat he is, flips completely and points a finger at us, “headmaster, you saw that, right? Those four are disrespecting the Royal family, one would have attacked me if not for your arrival!”
Holding back the laughter is very, very hard. A moment ago, he acted like this big, strong man, and now, he’s nothing but a whiny toddler, feeling like he’s being wronged because someone took his candy.
The headmaster walks closer to us, shaking his head in disappointment. However, I’m genuinely surprised when the man speaks up, “everyone saw what was happening here, prince Kaiden, including the Professors who have their lunch with students. I would be on your side if it wasn’t for your decision to approach a bunch of my best students and challenge them first.”
Kaiden’s eyes widen in shock. “What?” He screams. “They were about to attack me, you blind fool.”
“Now, now, there’s no need to throw insults at people, is there? As I said, you approached the boys at this table and it was you who challenged them first. I understand that life where you come from is different, but out here, in the real world, you don’t spit in Alpha’s face and get away with it. We had this conversation already, prince, I warned you about the dangers and you just don’t seem to listen.”
Kaiden looks like his head is about to blow off his body, like steam will shoot out of his eyes any moment, but somehow, he manages to pull himself together and get back into the role of the victim.
Just when he starts whining and complaining, his scary bodyguard approaches him and stops the charade by placing a hand on Kaiden’s shoulder. “Your father would be disappointed. Remember what this Academy means to the king before you say anything else.”
Those words get his attention. I’m not sure why Kaiden’s acting so weird all of a sudden, but I’ll take this silent side of him over his true self any time.
“Fine,” he huffs and crosses his arms in front of his chest again. Is that how he shows defiance to others? By taking angry toddler positions. “But I won’t let them get off the hook that easily. I refuse that option. Especially the midget dude, he pissed me off the most.”
His eyes bore into mine the next second and something about his face changes. Almost like the anger faces and his features soften before Kaiden twists his face in confusion. “You look familiar,” he mutters and plasters a fake smile on his lips. “I think we’ve met somewhere before, haven’t we?” He asks in a weirdly unusual teasing manner.
“Of course, you two have met before, moron. He attended the stupid mandatory party you threw the day you arrived. Everyone did. But now, fuck off, asshole! Find someone else to play around and pray to the gods they won’t force your ass in a locker!” Ethan growls.
Kaiden does nothing but eyes me with suspicion and interest. He isn’t even listening to what others have to say when he leans closer to his bodyguard and whispers, “we have places to be, I can deal with these pests later.”
Even as he finally leaves, I don’t feel like I’m safe. My whole body shakes with stress and adrenaline, but the triplets are there to cheer me up, and to our surprise, even the headmaster apologizes for letting the prince think he could get away with anything here.
Oh, the things around here are about to change..
