Mated to alpha triplets at all-boys school Chapter 63
Ashley pov
First, we check in with the Professor. Although he’s worried about the injury, the man seems pleased with our results and how fast we managed to finish his task.
That, and the fact that apparently, Elias and I have grown stronger as team members, which is something the Professor keeps on insisting is the most important outcome of the mission.
Once we leave the room, the Professor shouts after us, “Elias, make sure Ash is seen by the doctor. From what I gather, you have it all under control and patched him up pretty nicely, but I still need the extra reassurance from a professional.”
“Will do, Prof, wouldn’t let him back home otherwise anyway,” Elias calls over his shoulder and nudges me down the hall, away from the remaining commotion and out of the building.
As soon as we enter the courtyard, Elias lets out a sigh of relief and throws an arm around my shoulder. “See, it wasn’t that bad after all. And you were scared the old man would give us shit about the accident. Chill, Ash, breathe and let the tension go. You’re good.”
I flash him a smile that doesn’t really reach my eyes, but for the sake of it, I want him to feel a bit more at ease. The last thing I need is for this man to go through more trouble because of me. I’ve already caused enough misery as it is.
“Thank you. Seriously, Elias, I am grateful for everything you did for me out there and even here, with the Professor. I’ll be out of your hair now, but I really need you to understand that I’m beyond grateful. For everything.”
“Ah, don’t sweat it. We’re buddies now, remember?” Elias wiggles his eyebrows, looking like a complete fool, and I can’t help but laugh at his silly antics.
There’s so much more to the man than he’s willing to share with the world. It’s insane. But now, I’m kind of glad I get to see all of those hidden traits. Perhaps it’s a bad idea since initially I wanted to avoid the triplets at all costs, but I’m happy to get a little closer now. If only for the time being. Until I figure out my next move.
“Alright,” I smile. “We’re buddies. Anyway, I need to get going if I want to see the doctor before I crash for a couple of hours.”
“Nah-hah,” Elias drags and slides his hand from my shoulder, down to my back and sneaks it around my waist. His hold around me instantly tightens as a stone-cold expression crosses his face. “You’re not going anywhere until I personally see it that you go talk to the doc. No way. Not happening.”
“Wait, what? Why?” I spit out the questions without thinking.
Honestly, I really don’t need anyone to accompany me to the doctors. And besides, Nathan probably already arranged some of his doctors to check me as soon as he heard about my return.
“Because I said so. Now, don’t get all difficult again and let me do what I’m supposed to do, yea?” Elias grins, tightens his hold on me even more and drags me towards the building where everyone lives.
But instead of taking me home, or the actual doctors’ office, he drags me to the apartment we used to share.
“Why are we going there? Can’t I be checked by the doctor at home? I don’t see a point in going to your place.”
Elias looks at me funny and frowns. “That used to be your place too, Ash. Don’t be like this and let me help. Maybe I don’t like the doctor’s office, you never asked.”
“Do you?” I spit back.
“That’s for you to find out one day, I suppose. I too might have some secrets.” Elias wiggles his eyebrows and as soon as we step inside the building, all amusement from his features fades for good.
It’s honestly both amazing and awfully intimidating to see how fast he can flip his emotions, or at least the look on his face. From playful to serious in seconds.
I bite my lip and follow him. As he leads me inside the apartment, I once called my home, Ethan and Everett are already expecting us.
Judging by the looks on their faces and the worry that radiates off them both, I assume they have learned about how dangerous the stupid assignment actually was.
“I’ll check on Ash,” Ethan blurts out.
Everett quickly gets to his side and pushes his brother away. “No, I’ll check on him. You have no business doing that, at least I understand how to tend to a wound, you only know how to create them, dumbass.”
“Okay, then I’ll check to see if there’s anything hidden. Who knows, Ash might be hiding some new injuries from us. I refuse to allow anything slide past me.” Ethan insists, his gaze blazing.
There isn’t an excuse I can use to get out of this, so I look at Elias, hoping to God he could see the plea in my eyes.
Thankfully, he catches the hint and clears his throat. “Guys, Ash needs to rest and all this crowding around isn’t helping. I already have a doctor on the way, so you two are literally of no use for now. Trust me, Ash is exhausted, I’d know, I was in the arena with him and even I’m beat.”
The two of them exchange glances, seemingly unwilling to give up until they get their way, but eventually, Ethan and Everett nod at each other and agree. “Only if Ash stays here, in this apartment, so we can help with everything until he gets better.”
Begrudgingly, I agree. Anno can come here to visit me any day and sooner or later, I will get back to my preferred living spaces. Besides, reeking of these three doesn’t sound like the worst-case scenario if Kaiden makes his grand appearance.
From there, we all agree it’s best I stay with them all for the time being. In the following days, Ethan, Everett, and Elias take turns to accompany me whenever I need to attend the rehabilitation.
As it turns out, I’ve suffered some pretty severe nerve damage somehow so for most part, the movement in my leg is pathetic. On the bright side, the brothers have carefully designed a training plan to help me get back to my feet.
On the not so bright side, since all of them insist they must help me, I always end up in stupidly unassuming, yet intimate positions with one of the triplets. No matter which one it is, I always leave the rehab as red as a tomato in the face and stupidly excited inside. As much as I hate to admit this, they’re growing on me.
Shit, rejection is going to sting so bad.. It’ll shatter me completely.
