Elias pov

It takes longer than I initially thought, but catching up with Ethan is far harder than I imagined. The boy is fast. So fast, in fact, that even Everett is caught off guard.

Out of the three of us, Everett has always been the fastest one. He's the athlete, he is the hockey player, the speed and everything is in his blood. I rely on my motorcycle more than I do on my feet.

And Ethan, well, our little brother is more about the artistic things in life, his singing, band mates and all that jazz. He's never been known for his physical abilities. But today, I mean look at him go, or run in this case.

By the time I finally catch up with him, it's too late. My baby brother is already enveloped in our mother's arms, crying his eyes out and wailing like a goddamn baby.

As I approach, I quickly shift from my wolf and feel no shame at all as I stand stark naked in front of my mother. She has seen me many times before and unlike her baby son, I really don't mind showing off the goods. God, that sounded so wrong. Scratch that, forget it.

“Mom, whatever Ethan is claiming, he's exaggerating. Listen to me, don't listen to the crying baby. Everett is right around the corner, he will back me up on this one. Seriously, don't listen to him.” I shout before Ethan can mumble out some more of his lies.

I already have an idea about what he was planning to tell our mother. Short explanation is that Ethan planned to use mom's love for him as a weapon against everyone he thinks has wronged him. Also known as probably the whole world. As soon as something goes the wrong way, Ethan will find a way to cry about it to mom.

Don't get me wrong, I love how close their relationship is, but my brother is really taking advantage of his power here. Instead of dealing with his own issues, he would rather have mom do it.

Just as I opened my mouth to scream some more, Everett appears at my side just as naked as I am. In moments like this I'm really happy that as wolves we don't have a problem with our nudity, otherwise there will be a lot of uncomfortable moments of silence.

“Elias, darling, your brother speaks of his pain. Can't you see that he's suffering? Don't minimize his emotions and feelings, it's not healthy,” mom insists, flashing me a weak smile.

Just as I'm about to roll my eyes and probably let out the most annoyed and pained groan of my lifetime, that appears behind mom, looking just as confused, lost, and startled as me and Everett do.

Instead of trying to reason with my mother, I walk closer to my dad. “Could you please try and reason with mom? Ethan has another of his little emotional breakdowns and right now he's trying to use your wife as a weapon to wipe down an entire pack. At this point, it doesn't look like either of you really wants to join another war, especially this close to holiday season. Are you really willing to skip another trip to Hawaii? I don't think so.” I cross my arms in front of my chest and smirk.

Everett bumps my shoulder with his and offers his opinion too. “Yeah, dad, remember what happened the last time when you two skipped the vacation? I don't think I want to come home to a view like that ever again. We are big boys, we know how babies are made, but we really don't have to watch them being made.”

Dad's face turns bright red, his eyes focus on mom, who's still holding Ethan wrapped up like he's an actual newborn.

“Darling? How about we head inside so our sons don't stand in front of the house butt naked for any longer? After all three of them get dressed, we could sit down in the living room, have some tea, and hear them all out. I understand that both you and Ethan are extremely emotional right now, but I believe it's best if we try to approach the situation more calmly.”

I actually like his idea. Leave it to dad to ensure every situation is approached from the logical side of things. This is just another reason why it's easier for me to communicate with our father than it is with mom. Don't get me wrong she's awesome in all the ways possible, but sometimes she gets so emotional, so fired up that it's hard to connect with her.

Obviously, that's never been a problem for my baby brother. The same as mom he's a very openly emotional being and unlike Everett and I, Ethan really never feels ashamed of his emotions.

Truth be told, sometimes I envy him. I envy him so bad for being so free, open and uncaring. Maybe one day I will learn a thing or two from my baby brother and start embracing my emotions instead of hiding them too.

Slowly, we follow that inside the mansion. Ethan is still busy whispering something into mom's ear as ever an eye head for our bedrooms to get dressed. It doesn't take us more than ten minutes to meet back downstairs.

Just like I predicted, Ethan hasn't bothered to get dressed. No, he's still wrapped up in that comfy looking fluffy blanket, leaning against mom who's sitting on the couch in the living room.

As always, he has to sit on one of the love seats because Ethan has completely overtaken mom in every sense of the word.

I take a seat on the love seat next to that and Everett sits on one across from me. From my perspective, it honestly looks like Ethan and mom are some kind of partners in crime while the rest of us are just the audience, and the only true purpose we have in life is to sit back and watch them.

Before this weird moment can drag on for any longer, I arch an eyebrow and focus on my mom, “are we going to find out what Ethan told you? Or are we planning to just sit around here and do nothing?”
