Mated to alpha triplets at all-boys school Chapter 15
Anno pov
I keep grabbing her hand, but every time I tighten my hold on her, her hand slips out of my grasp. The action is repeated so many times, I lose the count of it. No matter how hard I try, I can’t hold onto her.
Worst part of this all is that Ash just told me how much she hates storms. I don’t think it’s just hatred she feels - it’s fear. She’s terrified, no matter how much she tries to put up a brave face, I see it in her body language.
The moment the first lightning strike hit and the thunder shook the ground, she turned into a completely different person. Gone was the confidence and calm demeanor, replaced by a pure panic hidden in her bright gaze.
And sadly, fucking stupidly, too late, I realize she’s not following me. The triplet assholes are just as oblivious to her disappearance as I am until I scream at them, “guys, Ash is gone! He’s not following us!”
It feels weird to know Ash isn’t a guy. In my mind, she’s a woman, but out loud, she’s supposed to be ‘he.’
The triplets stop in their tracks, nearly running into each other. What is weirder than their reaction is the looks on their faces - all three look terrified.
I’ve heard a few things about them. The oldest one of the bunch, Elias, cares about nothing but his motorcycles. The next, Everett, is an asshole hockey jock and youngest one, Ethan, is the sunshine of the bunch that loves to sing.
As different as they appear, now, they look eerily alike. All of them - like their faces are carved out of one stone to the tiniest details perfected.
“Why didn’t you fucking tell us sooner?” Everett screams in my face, pulling me out of the weird thoughts.
I shiver, not because of the cold wind, but his rage directed at me only.
“I just noticed!” I scream back. “Don’t blame me, you didn’t bother looking back, you didn’t notice until I pointed it out!”
Everett pulls back his fist, clearly about to punch me, but Elias stands behind him and grabs his fist. “Stop! There’s no time to run around punching every omega in your way. We need to go back and find Ash.”
At least the stoic asshole is the voice of reason. And maybe that’s better, seeing how Everett is getting aggressive and Ethan looks like he’s on the verge of tears.
“This is unfair! First, this asshole takes away my friend and now, I lose him in the storm? Life is fucking with me! Ash is my friend, he’s mine!” Ethan screams, tears rolling down his cheeks.
Elias still holds Everett back as he reaches out to toss his arm around Ethan’s shoulders and pulls his brother closer. “Calm down, baby brother, we’ll find your little friend, he can’t be too far from here.”
All this emotional back and forth will do nothing and accomplish even less. Groaning, I wipe the rain water off my face and look at the trio. “I don’t know about you guys, but I’m going back. I won’t let Ash wander the forest alone, especially in a storm that he hates.”
Ethan’s eyes widen. “Ash hates storms? How come you know that and I don’t?”
I roll my eyes at him. “This isn’t time for us to measure dicks or knowledge about Ash. This is when you choose if you come with me to find him or head back to the Academy. The choice’s yours.”
The triplets exchange glances but all of them nod and head back with me.
As we walk, I notice an entrance to a cave and point at it. “Try to remember this location, we can hide from the rain there once we find Ash.”
“Great thinking,” Elias agrees and we head further into the forest.
“Should we split? Won’t it be easier to find him?” Everett suggests.
Honestly, it’s a stupid idea. Splitting the group when the visibility is this bad is really stupid, but eventually, I agree with him. For as long as we remain at a safe distance we should be fine.
I head to my right while the rest split up. Thankfully, there’s a weird pull I feel towards the direction I walk to and no longer than five minutes in, I find Ash sitting against a tree, her legs pulled to her chest, her body shivering.
I run to her and instantly pull her into my arms. “Shh, you’re safe, I’m here for you, I promise I’m here. You’re not alone anymore.”
“You came after me. You actually did,” she cries against my chest, grabbing my shirt, refusing to let go.
“Believe it or not, but so did the creepy triplets. They’re looking for you too. Let’s go, we found a place where to wait out the storm, use the walk to calm down before they see you in this state.”
Ash agrees and I help her up to her feet. We don’t walk for long until the triplets find us and Ethan is already grabbing onto Ash, making sure she’s not hurt.
Maybe he really sees her as a friend. I drop the doubt as we help Ash to the cave and hide inside. It’s not half as bad, especially since there are some leaves and twigs all around it, which Elias gathers to start a fire and warm up the place.
We sit mainly in silence, probably for hours, and when evening comes around and the forest turns darker with every passing minute, the storm still doesn’t calm down.
Somehow, I miss the moment one of the jackasses leaves the cave until he returns with a massive piece of meat in his hands. Everett doesn’t speak as he starts cooking over the flame, and honestly, I’m grateful because I don’t want to know where the meat came from and how he got it.
After we all eat and the night falls over the forest, Elias glances at Ash and frowns. “I think you should take your clothes off too, Ash. Dry them out near the fire and then put them back on.”
My heart stops at his words. From the corner of my eye, I can see her shaking her head, rather freezing to death than sharing her greatest secret. Now, I realize how privileged I am to keep her secret.
“Come on, we won’t look. Besides, it’s not like you’re hiding anything we haven’t already seen on our own bodies,” Everett jumps in.
“Yeah, we don’t care about your dick, promises.” Ethan laughs, clearly trying to ease the tension and failing miserably.
Slowly, I get to my feet and stand in front of Ash. “They have a point. You can have my pants and hoodie while your clothes are drying there.” Quickly, I look over my shoulder at the frowning triplets and speak a little louder, “I know you’re uncomfortable with any sort of pubic nudity, Ash.”
Reluctantly, she agrees and I lead her to the darkest part of the cave, helping her out of the wet clothes and taking mine off. Once she’s dressed, we return and I hang out her clothes close to the campfire, sitting close to it myself until I can get dressed again.
Although the day has been rather eventful and weird already, I still can’t shake off the feeling of the triplet glares. They look uncomfortable and angry at the same, almost as if they are the ones who wanted to take care of Ash.
