Mated to alpha triplets at all-boys school Chapter 73
Ashley pov
As soon as I escape the madness, I turn into the direction of the forest. Nathan told me that suppressing my scent using magic for too long could end up with an explosion, so that’s my first stop.
Hidden away, I wait around for a little bit until I’m sure I can sneak back to the apartment unnoticed and my scent doesn’t go off like crazy.
Once I return back home, I press my back against the door and let out a long, heavy sigh of relief. I’m so tired and anxious that my eyes nearly shut and I’m near the state of passing out.
Thankfully, my mind is still reeling in a way, which reminds me of where I am and the dangers of being found here, dressed in this awful gown.
I instantly run to my bedroom and lock it. As fast as I humanly can, I drop the dress and grip it in my hand as I walk into the bathroom and start the shower. For many, my actions might appear rather weird, but I understand that the dress is soaked in my scent, so I drop it on the shower floor while I get washed.
I have no idea how much time I spend in the shower, but as soon as I’m done, I find a few trash bags around the bathroom and wrap the dress up, then toss the bag into the trash bin and make a mental note to get rid of it early tomorrow morning.
Then, a little calmer, I dry myself off, use one of the aftershaves Ethan left in my bathroom and hurry to get dressed again, in case the triplets arrive anytime soon.
Need I stress how good of an idea it is? I think not, especially since right after I’m dressed and somewhat dry, the door to the apartment opens and three very loud men stumble inside.
I unlock the door to my room and open it ajar. Yes, I know listening in on others’ conversations isn’t the right thing to do, but I’m dying to find out how the evening ended after I left.
“Man, I can’t believe the party ended so soon. Everyone’s a fucking buzzkill,” Ethan grumbles and drops on the couch.
“Just because you didn’t get to let loose and get drunk off your ass doesn’t mean it was a buzzkill,” Elias retorts.
The choked chuckle that leaves Ethan is almost hilarious. “Stop acting like I’m an alcoholic or some shit. I’m not. It’s just been an insanely long time since the last time I was allowed to let loose, you know. All we do is train and study, no moments of fun even during the weekends. I don’t think I’m asking for too much here.”
“Let it go, Ethan, neither of us will be on your side anyway,” Everett interjects.
Ethan snorts out a laugh. “Sure, you won’t. Elias is too busy obsessing over a stupid earring and you’re just as lame as he is. Nobody wants to have fun. Even Ash left before the party actually started. I don’t like you guys.”
“Speaking of Ash, where is he?” Everett instantly asks.
I freeze next to the door and consider pretending to be asleep, but I know damn well it won’t work, so I open the bedroom door and drop a towel over my head as I walk into the living room. “Oh, hey guys, home so soon?” I fake a surprise.
“There he is,” Ethan scoffs.
“Are you okay?” Elias asks, his eyes still focusing on the object he’s holding in his hand.
“Yeah, why are you asking?” I arch an eyebrow at him.
Elias glances my way and flashes me a smile. “No reason, just making sure my friend is okay. Ethan here is complaining you left too soon.”
“Yeah,” I grumble and shift my weight from one leg to another. “Sorry about that. I don’t do well in crowds and any possibility of meeting anyone even relatively famous sends me in a full blown panic.”
All of them exchange glances, but drop the subject. As I walk to the kitchen area, they start discussing the girl they met during the party as if I’m not around here and couldn’t be a part of the discussion they’re having.
Seeing as they still talk about this mystery girl, I can’t help but feel a little disappointed. There is no way for them to know they’re discussing me, I can’t drop the secret like this, but also, I can’t believe that they got so obsessed over a stranger this easily.
“What do you think, Ash? Will we meet her again?” Ethan asks, sounding playful, hopeful that I pay attention to their words.
“What do I care?” I snap back and aggressively chug down some water.
Elias’ gaze instantly focuses on me. First, he looks puzzled, but then, a look of anger crosses his features. “There’s no need to act like a complete dick. All Ethan did was ask a question, you can tell him you don’t want to be a part of this conversation and he will drop it. Shit, lose the attitude.”
For some reason, his words anger me even more. I want to scream, cry and do awful things, but instead, I glare at him and grumble, “whatever.”
“Hey! It’s not our fault you decided to ditch us and didn’t get to meet our new friend. Seriously, Ash, drop the fucking attitude before I make you,” Elias growls and stands up from his seat.
Ethan and Everett instantly jump in front of me, ready to act like human shields to protect me from the anger of their brother. “Calm down, Eli, Ash might be feeling all sorts of off today. Don’t go all Alpha crazy on him. He mentioned a bad headache earlier, perhaps it’s still affecting him and we’re the ones who are acting like dicks by bothering him.” Ethan lies for me.
I didn’t say anything about the headache, not that I recall doing that, really.
Elias’ looks a little calmer, but still ready to go to war with me if I do as much as make a sound. And a sound I really want to make. Just as I part my lips, there’s a knock on the apartment door that shuts me up instantly.
Ethan staggers towards the door and opens it. “Yellow, who’s there?” He slurs.
The person on the other side of the door mumbles something and Ethan looks over his shoulder to shout, “hey, guys, there’s one of the prince’s men here, asking if we have seen a chick anywhere around here. They think she’s living in one of the apartments. Have you seen a babe running around by any chance?”
