Mated to alpha triplets at all-boys school Chapter 154
Elias pov
Holy shit and a cherry on top. Dad is vicious. Even worse than mom. Compared to what she asked for, this is less possible than the fuckers head on the platter.
I can't believe my parents. Can't believe how far they're willing to go just to push the Elders buttons and get what they want.
“I don't think it's doable, Alpha,” the Elder shakes his head and slowly sits down. Then, he looks straight at dad and forces a smile. “Please, don't view me sitting down as a sign of disrespect. I'm an old man, weak in my knees, it's hard to stand for longer than a few minutes.”
Dad waves him off. “It's fine, Elder, sit all you like. For as long as the attitude is right, I don't mind.”
After dad's words, the room goes silent again. Nobody speaks up or tries to offer other solutions to this shitshow.
Since Everett took mom out for some fresh air, only Ethan and I watch the whole thing go down. As my gaze finds him, Ethan only grins. The little fucker is happy about this outcome.
But then again, what did I expect? It's always been like this - all he has to do is run to mom, climb in her lap and cry like a baby, and she will move heaven and hell for him. Perks of being the baby of the family, I suppose.
“Why is the land question impossible?” I blurt out before I can think of how ridiculous I sound.
All eyes focus on me. The Elders are weirded out while dad looks proud. “What Elias asked. Why is the land question impossible?” He parrots my words, emphasizing that the question is important and he expects an answer.
The Elders stutter a few weak excuses until the one who mom and dad took liking of eventually raises from his seat again and sets the record straight.
“It's impossible, Alpha, simply because that would be the biggest land within the alliance. If we lose that, there's no point in upholding the alliance as it is today. Rest assured, I for one, don't harbor hope that after getting the land yourself or your wonderful family would ever be open to join the alliance.”
“He's not wrong,” I mumble and shrug my shoulders. “There are plenty of things we would agree to compromise on, but joining the alliance isn't one of them.”
“That's right, son,” dad beams at me. “We're not built for living under someone else's greedy fingers. We prefer to live like wolves are supposed to - in a pack ruled by freedom and fair leaders.” His eyes roam over the present council Elders, all except the chosen one. “And I can't say you could be considered fair leaders.”
Those words seem to trigger something, because one of the Elders shoots to his feet and slams his fist against the table. “That's enough! We arrived to seek a reasonable solution, not to endure ridicule at your hands. Unless you're capable of treating us with the respect we deserve, there is nothing to discuss!”
Despite his anger, the only thing his words do is amuse dad so much that he starts laughing. And laugh he does, for a long time.
After what feels like an eternity and dad finally calms down, he drops the act and pins the Elder with a glare that promises any awful thing that could happen to a man.
“Respect is earned, not given. Ever since you stepped your foot on my land, you haven't done one thing to earn my respect. As for the demands you are making, shove them up your ass and show them off to your friends. That's the best you can do. In my territory, you are nobody to make demands. Consider yourself lucky if you leave this land on your own feet or with all limbs intact.”
The outrage after dad's threat is simply ridiculous. Standing aside, watching old men go red in their faces and sputter weak insults is like watching a kindergarten group with kids who can't pronounce the words correctly.
This meeting is turning into a stand up comedian show, not a diplomatic discussion.
“I say we kill the council and get rid of the alliance. Then, we kill the king and his son, that way we can get the land without the extra hustle with these fools,” I suggest, speaking over the onslaught of voices, silencing them all for good.
Ethan is the first one to speak up, which only adds more of a fear factor to the Elders. “I like it. Like it a lot. Been waiting for a while to let loose and be myself for a couple of days. War sounds like loads of fun.”
It's stupid, but only when Ethan jumps in with his rather barbaric opinion do the council members start understanding how far into the corner they have been forced.
They have no other choice but to bend to our will. Surely, for most part we follow the same law as they do, but there are few exceptions for us as someone who isn't on their side. Those few, seemingly unimportant things are what brings us the biggest benefit in the long run.
“That's settled, then,” dad grins and stands from his seat. “If war is what you want, war is what you get.”
He doesn't stop smiling as he winks at the Elders and turns his back on the bunch to head towards the door.
Everything's eerily silent until dad reaches for the door handle and attempts to open the door.
“Wait, Alpha, don't go just yet. I'm sure we can discuss something and come to a better solution. We do not agree to start a war.” The somewhat reasonable Elder speaks up again, earning death glares from his allies.
I can't get over how stupid some of those men are. Given their age, one would assume they are wiser than the sole of my shoe, but no, they're very passionate about proving me wrong.
It's like they don't care about the lives of innocent people at all for as long as they keep their pride and stupidly large egos intact.
Slowly, dad turns on his heel, arches and eyebrow and crosses his arms in front of his chest. He looks bored, but I know deep down, he's already dancing around, enjoying the victory.
“What do you offer then?”
