Mated to alpha triplets at all-boys school Chapter 141
Elder Riccio pov
As soon as we crossed the pack border, I had a bad feeling in my gut and that feeling has only grown in size as we enter the main building.
Unlike other packs, more classic approach packs, this one operates differently. Not only has the whole Sorrentino bloodline defied our every attempt to talk them into joining the alliance, but also, they operate against most of our generational laws.
As it usually is, once we arrive in the packs, we are brought to the pack house and instantly meet the Alpha. Here, there's no such thing happening. First of all, we were brought to the Alphas family home, all the time accompanied by their guards as if we're some sort of criminals. Then, we were shown the grand hall and told we must wait.
Since when does the council of Elders have to wait? The same as me, the rest of the Elders are visibly unsatisfied with the situation.
“Gentlemen, can I offer you refreshments? Water? Champagne? Perhaps tea? Or do you prefer the blood of your traitor king?” Beta of the pack offers a maniacal grin plastered on his lips.
I don't know what I expected from the start of this meeting, but while I'm not surprised by the approach, I'm definitely not happy about it either.
I clear my throat and meet Betas' eyes. “Water would be completely fine, thank you.”
He looks down on me like I'm an absolute piece of crap and gives me a curt nod. Then, he points a finger at every council member and speaks up again, “and the rest of the motherfuckers? Same shit?”
My eyes widen in shock. How dare this lowlife man address the highest of the highest with such crude language?
Before I can protest and verbally remind him of his place, Beta turns this gaze to me and snarls. “Seems you're the shithead of the year in this little group, so I'll address you. Don't try to come at me with your righteous bullshit, this pack is not a part of the alliance and therefore you have no power here. Neither diplomatic or the rank you hold. For as long as you're on our land, we have the right to kill you if we please so. Keep in mind that on this land, killing the whole council isn't considered a crime. Welcome to the enemy's territory, Elders.”
With that being said, he turns his back on us and stalks out of the door.
Like me, the rest of the Elders aren't happy and some even raise their concerns about coming here in the first place. I completely understand why they feel the way they do. This is too risky.
However, as soon as we start discussing possibly leaving the pack and ignoring the matter we wanted to deal with peacefully, at least three dozen guards enter the grand hall and surround us.
Maybe their main intention is to make us all feel small, unimportant and locked in like rats in a cage… If so, all I can say is that they're succeeding in their mission.
I've never felt this disrespected in my entire life. As if the clear hatred isn't enough, the Alpha and his Luna don't even bother to join us for the meeting, which is yet another way they're showing us the disrespect we don't deserve.
“Let's be glad the crazy sons aren't here. I heard they're attending the Academy. One of my kids is taking the same course as the tree lunatics, so we shouldn't run into them.” Elder Morris perks up, appearing to be in good spirits all of a sudden.
Honestly, I feel a lot better knowing those three won't get in our way. I haven't personally met the triplets, but I've heard stories about them. Each is worse than the previous one and the youngest one gives me creeps. That kid had a gall to bite off someone's finger when he was younger and never regretted his action. If that was him as a child, I'm scared to think what kind of monster he grew into as more years passed.
As the majority of Elders exchange worried glances and whisper secrets among themselves, Elder Morris perks up again. “I think it's best if we have a plan of action. Once Alpha and Luna grace us with their presence, we should focus on resolving the issue without starting another useless war.”
I nod at the man in agreement. “You are absolutely right. The alliance isn't as strong as it was decades ago, so war is the last thing we need right now. If the pack decided to attack, I fear we would lack resources to help the king and his own pack could be wiped off Earth. If that happens, everything shatters and we lose the alliance. No more council of Elders needed.”
“So, do we have any idea where we might be going with this nonexistent plan? Elder Riccio, do you have a plan?” One of my peers asks, looking both hopeful and unusually grim. My eyes scan everyone in the room, including the Alphas guards who appear uninterested in our little discussion.
Clearing my throat, I gesture for the men to get closer so I can whisper and ensure the guards won’t catch on our ideas. Arriving at the enemy’s territory is one thing, but voicing the plan of action in front of the enemy’s guards is downright stupid. “Alpha Sorrentino isn’t known as a man of great patience. So, if we want to reach a reasonable agreement, we must focus our attention on his Luna. She is a woman of great patience and I’m sure that as the nurturer and peace keeper of the pack, she doesn’t have one mean bone in her body. We know how women are - they strive to avoid conflict, not to make it worse.”
The Elders grin and eagerly nod in agreement, all of them completely sure that I’m onto something. Goddess, please let me be right and let this meeting go by as peacefully as possible. If I’m wrong and Luna turns out to be just as bad as the Alpha, if not worse, there is no way we could escape war between the packs. Goddess, I beg you, save our souls.
