Mated to alpha triplets at all-boys school Chapter 145
Elias pov
The Elders settle while my brother and I keep up with the show, bringing the crazy role to perfection.
I love the tension in the room, especially with Beta glaring at everyone and the guards surrounding the council like they're a disease. Which, by the way, the council members are.
Ethan keeps snapping his teeth at them, reminding the old fucks just how easily he could attack anyone if he so wished to.
Eventually, dad and mom arrive hand in hand, both sporting wide grins. Oh, they're up to something.
“Good evening, dear council of Elders. I'd hope you're finding your visit to our territory pleasant and you do enjoy the company we provide.” Mom starts first, sitting at the end of the table where Alpha usually would.
The Elders exchange worried glances. It's written all over their faces how much they want to question the move, but none of them is brave enough to actually do it.
The reality of the matter is that stuff is different in our pack. While others praise Alphas, the muscle and strength of the pack, we value our Luna, the caretaker and the glue who holds the pack together.
Without mom, our pack wouldn't be the same. Without her, we wouldn't be where we are today, that much is clear.
Slowly, I cross my arms in front of my chest and glare at the men, daring them to try to spit some of their shitty opinions.
Instead, I get one of them to stand up and bow at our mom. Well, that's a first. These fuckers aren't known for showing respect to anyone but themselves. “Dear Luna, we are very grateful for your hospitality and for making time in your busy schedule to see us so soon.”
Mom is the most no-nonsense person I've ever known, so I'm not surprised when she rolls her eyes at the Elder and mutters, “oh, for duck’sake, here we go again.”
“I don't mean any disrespect, please don't misunderstand me,” the Elder insists, pulling his hands into tight fists.
Although I know he doesn't have the balls to attack mom or put her in any immediate danger, I still decide to warn him.
A low, threatening growl rips out of me as I focus my gaze on him and hiss, “watch it, asshole.”
Just verbal warning probably would be enough, but since I know how hard-headed these assholes can be, I flex my muscles on purpose to show off the impressive size difference.
I'm taller, stronger, more fit, younger and overall better than all of them together. Truth be told, I'm pretty sure I could take them down with no assistance needed.
“Yes, of course, my apologies, I didn't mean to come across as disrespectful.” He mutters to me and turns to my mom again. “Luna, may I ask why are so many people present during this meeting? I would understand the presence of the Alpha, maybe Beta and a few guards. However, there are more of you than there are of us. Is that fair?” He attempts to smile, but it looks like the guy is showing off teeth more than he is smiling.
Mom arches an eyebrow. “Of course it's fair. You're on my territory. If I must remind you this important little detail - you aren't in one of your alliance packs. Right now, you're facing what you deem your enemy. We, for one, are not willing to take any risks.”
The man nods, but even from where I stand, I can see he isn't pleased with her answer and attitude. Even when he mutters a weak “fair enough” he doesn't sound convincing.
“Shall we start the meeting or do you prefer skilling the peaceful part and jumping straight to negations of war terms?” Mom asks and the whole room goes silent.
I struggle not to grin like an idiot. For years, I've hoped a motherfucker would, for years, I've needed a decent reason to attack and let out all of my frustration. Today might be the day. Fingers crossed.
“Oh, no, we would prefer to avoid starting a war with you, Luna. That's the reason behind our arrival, we would like to resolve everything as peacefully as possible. In fact, we are willing to bring offerings to the table if it helps the cause.” The Elder says, keeping his eyes on mom, avoiding glancing elsewhere to show how serious he is.
Everyone can see mom isn't buying his bullshit. That's good because neither am I. The council is a bunch of old, senile, angry men who look down on everyone but themselves. It's about time they get humbled.
“Well, in that case, color me surprised. Here I was, thinking the goal is a war, given how carelessly you watch over your own alliance and the freedom you give your king. If I wouldn’t have heard from your own mouth that you don’t seek out war, I’d think this is nothing but a warning for one starting.” Mom says, crossing her arms in front of her chest.
“I don’t understand, Luna. My apologies, but I really don’t understand what exactly you are referring to,” the Elder mutters. Worst part is that he actually looks confused, like, genuinely confused. Either he’s a great actor, or he’s truly lost in this situation.
Mom’s gaze hardens as she slams her fist against the table, silencing the entire room. “You don’t know, huh? You don’t know how your king has allowed his offspring roam the territories and do whatever the fuck he pleases, yes? You haven't heard about him jumping the packs and going on a killing rampage? So, you have no darn idea how many lives he has taken? How much blood is on his hands? And to top it all off, you definitely don’t know that the brat rejected his mate, which by the way came from the pack your beloved king wiped off the face of Earth? Listen to me carefully and be even more careful when you start talking because I will take no nonsense from you. The poor girl’s home was destroyed, parents killed and then she was taken to the king’s pack as a slave. Once of age, she’s rejected and banished by the prince himself. But of course, that’s not enough damage for the little shit. As soon as the girl gets away, he changes his mind, hunts her down, drugs her and tries to force her into marriage. Since we’re sitting here, you know that didn’t work out how he planned it, so now, my son’s best friend is somewhere in the wild, taken by the bears and there’s a huge chance the hunters were sent after her.”
Mom takes a deep breath, stands up and scans the faces of the horrified Elders. “Tell me, in your opinion, which self-respecting Alpha wouldn’t deem those actions as an invitation to start a war?”
