Mated to alpha triplets at all-boys school Chapter 21
Ashley pov
Although the competition barely ends and we just found out that we’re heading towards a completely different program, which for some reason turns out to be completely free for us, we are sent off to pack our bags.
Sadly, I have to follow the triplets back to the dorm we share. The only positive part of this whole experience is that neither of them tries to talk to me.
How they don’t see this situation as odd is beyond me. Let’s be honest - how are they okay with following around someone who they think is a guy?
Soon after we grab our bags, we’re all nearly thrown into a van that brings us to our next destination.
“This feels suspiciously like kidnapping,” I whisper to Anno as he takes a seat next to me at the very back of the van.
He chuckles at my remark and shakes his head. “Facts.”
We start giggling like children, catching the attention of triplets, who look at us like we have lost our minds.
The rest of the ride is uneventful, the only sounds inside the van being occasional whispers Anno and I share, and some tunes coming from the driver’s radio.
I catch Ethan glaring at me here and here, but I ignore the odd behavior. Maybe later, we can talk, but I really don’t want to open that can of worms anytime soon. After everything he said in the forest, I don’t even want to be his friend anymore.
“We have arrived,” the driver announces and I genuinely can’t understand how long we have been driving around. Was it an hour or only a couple of minutes?
I swear, time feels different inside that van. Which actually turns out to be true because as we get out, I realize it’s nighttime already.
“Welcome students,” a rough voice breaks the silence around us. “Let me be the first one who greets the brilliant and talented students who are joining our little, elite circle.”
We all look around, but no one is there. “I swear, I’m losing my mind,” I mumble under my breath.
Anno moves closer to me and pinches my upper arm. “I think I am too. Whatever you have, it might be contagious. If you’re losing your mind, I’m in the same boat because I swear someone just spoke, but there’s no one.”
“We’re losing it too, apparently,” Ethan joins as his brothers nod in agreement.
Suddenly, a shape of a person starts forming in front of us and not long after the appearance, a real, very big man stands before us. “No one is losing their minds here, I promise. I didn’t make myself fully known, a perk I love to use whenever new students join our rows. Let’s say I’m showing off, letting you know about one of the many things you might learn here. Depends on how good you are with magic, of course.”
We all exchange glances. This is the last thing I expected to see - a person appearing out of thin air, but I suppose a skill like this could be rather beneficial to many, especially during battles.
“I am professor Nyxton, I will tell you everything about magic, teach you how to use and respect the gift you’ve been granted.” He introduces himself and offers us all his hand for a handshake.
When the professor stands in front of me, the corner of his mouth twitches. Not in a kind way, sadly. There’s something unsettling about him. Very darn unsettling.
“And you are?” He asks as he grabs my hand, eyebrow arched almost in a challenging manner.
I clear my throat and fake a smile, “Ash Kingston, it’s an honor to meet you, professor.”
My words don’t do much, maybe only earn a tiny bit of appreciation, but other than that, it’s clear this man has something against me. He doesn’t like me at all. But why?
“Darkwoods Academy student, yes?” He asks, tightening his hold on my hand to the point my face turns bright red.
I nod. “Yes, sir.”
“Interesting,” he drags the word and runs his tongue over his bottom lip, keeping an intense eye contact with me.
Is this a moment we share, or what? If this is how the guy tries to flirt, fuck me, he should work on his game because it sucks ass. Big time.
And besides, there is something about the way he looks at me. I can’t exactly pin-point what it is, but it makes me feel like he knows more about me than I’m comfortable with. Him, staring at me like this, unsettles me. Freak.
A chuckle escapes the professor as he releases my hand and steps away. Did this guy just read my thoughts? I’m scared to think of it, but judging by the look on his face, I might as well claim that he did. Freaky..
“Please, follow me so I can quickly show you around. I will hand out some uniforms, of course, but after the quick walk, I’ll take you kids to our tailor. Don’t worry, they’re equipped to work at any time of the day and night as our students come from different species.”
We all do what he tells us and follow the man around the territory. There’s not much I can describe as everyone around here is rather secretive, including the professor.
There are high walls around the small property, the school is relatively small as well and the security around here is insane. While it seems a little suspicious, I kind of understand where they are coming from.
They teach kids magic here, there’s no saying if one could lose it and start attacking others after all.
Soon after the quick tour is done, the professor takes us to the tailor. First, the triplets and Anno are asked to stand before the woman who is taking their measurements and once she’s done with them, she looks at me and smiles.
I understand it’s my turn, but I really don’t want to be touched by anyone. I’m trying to hide, not parade my gender in front of everyone.
“Please, stand in front of me, sweetheart. I’ll take your measurement really quickly and you can head to your room to rest soon after,” she offers me a kind, reassuring smile.
However, despite her seemingly nice attitude and approach, I feel all sorts of off about her, so instead of walking closer, I take a reluctant step back.
Anno and triplets have already left, so sadly, I don’t have anyone to speak up for me either. I’m seriously panicking.
“The sooner we start, the sooner we get over it,” she tries to reason with me.
“I really don’t want anything custom made for me. Seriously. I don’t like being touched.” I manage to mutter as my eyes cast down to my feet.
“And unfortunately, I can’t allow you to skip this step. It’s important, sweetheart. We must use a one-of-a-kind material to ensure you’re protected from any possible attack. Some students like to play with magic more than we allow and oftentimes, it ends with accidents. The uniforms protect you from those accidents.” She explains.
Reluctant, I step closer, but I really don’t want to do this.
The woman smiles at me and nods, as if she’s promising me something. She does a quick job, but I also see how she looks at me. She knows. Bloody hell, she knows.
“Listen...”
