Mated to alpha triplets at all-boys school Chapter 41
Nathan pov
Thankfully, young Alpha doesn’t protest and quickly agrees with me. The idea isn’t bad, and while I doubt there will be lots of information I could bring to the girl, at least I can try my best.
For years, I have spent sleepless nights, thinking about where the future of our pack was. With her disappearance, everything collapsed for good. Losing our leaders was a blow, but losing their child was far worse.
Many have tried and failed to find her, most of them didn’t return home and if they did, the poor people were missing limbs or ended up so damn traumatized, they couldn’t tell the others what happened.
Eventually, our small group split to survive. Each of us headed in different directions, but now that I have accidentally found the Alpha - we need to reunite again. We must gather back the pack and if we’re lucky enough, our Alpha will insist on taking back what belongs to her.
If she wants to, I will give my life for her future. That girl has gone through enough.
Since I’m lost in my thoughts, I don’t notice anyone standing in the hall until it’s too late and I run into the person. “My apologies, I wasn’t looking where I’m going,” I mutter, letting the instinct to be polite take over before the disgust I feel can freeze my senses.
In front of me stands a man, big in his presence, very confident, a sly smile across his lips. “Oh, hey there, pretty thing. I’m surely surprised you didn’t notice me standing here, right in your way, actually even calling out to you a couple of times. I suppose you’re not interested?” He arches an eyebrow.
First of all - ew. I’m not that kind of a man. Also, double ew. What the fuck? Just because I don’t voice my thoughts out loud doesn’t mean I don’t feel disgusted by this man. Not only is he openly flirting with me, badly at that, but he’s also one of the king’s men. The very breed I hate the most in my life.
“Again,” I mutter and bow to fake politeness. “I didn’t see you standing there, sir. My apologies. I’ll make sure to be more aware next time I walk in public spaces to avoid such accidents again.”
His hand raises as if he wants to touch me, but he quickly pulls it back and growls. “It’s Gio, not sir. Never sir to you. Never. No need to apologize, really, I’m glad you ran into me, at least I get to talk to you now.”
Something’s terribly off with this man. Even as I steal a glance at him, I can see the frustration in his eyes, how tense is his body and how jerky are his movements. The guy keeps running a hand through his hair over and over again, which makes me wonder if he owns a comb or if all the people in that barbaric pack know nothing about basic necessities like that.
“Sorry, sir,” I repeat myself and try to side step him, but the gigantic moron mirrors my action and grins.
This time, when he raises his hand, he carefully cups my cheek, which makes me take a step back. He drops his hand and his shoulders nearly fall as he looks down at the floor and speaks. “Not, sir. Please, stop that nonsense and use my name. Anyone can call me sir but you. It’s Gio, my name is Gio.”
Still confused as hell, I raise an eyebrow and nod, playing along with the weird game only he knows the rules to. “Okay, again, my apologies, Gio.”
As if a switch has flipped in him, the man looks at me and grins. “I like the way my name sounds coming from your lips. Bet it tastes good on your tongue too. Should I check?” He’s getting bolder with every moment passing and takes a step closer, which makes me back away again.
While I still have no idea what this lunatic is playing at, all I want is to get away from him. Seriously, I’m on a mission here and he’s stalling.
Shit, what if he’s playing to seriously stall me and get that spoiled brat in Ash’s room while I’m busy out here? Panic surges through me, I can’t let them do this.
As I try to spin around and return to the room, the moron grabs my wrist and pulls me to him. He is so fast, I register what he has done only when my back hits the wall and he cages me against it, his nose pushed in the crook of my neck as he takes a deep breaths, inhaling my scent. “I knew it had to be you the moment I entered the hall. I could smell you the very moment, but you had to run from me, didn’t you? Why did you run? I know I’m not the prettiest guy out there, some even would call me hideous, but you, of all people, why did you still run?”
The more he talks the sooner I understand what he is going on about. The only issue is that I swore to the Goddess herself that I wouldn’t accept any happiness in my life until the former glory of our pack is restored and the rightful Alpha took the power. Mates included. Shit, I think this guy is my mate. Great, an amazing way to flip the tables isn’t it?
The panic within me settles when Gio slowly wraps his arms around me and holds me close to him. Just because I swore I wouldn’t have this before time doesn’t mean his presence doesn’t affect me at all.
Maybe he isn’t playing the stalling game after all. Which, in a way, would be amazing because now, knowing that this guy might become rather obsessed means I could use it against him. I would rather avoid ever hurting my mate, but for my Alpha, I would and will give up anything dear to my heart.
Mate included.
“What are you doing here?” I whisper the question, frantically looking around, hoping to god no one will see us here.
“Kaiden went to talk to the headmaster about someone he’s looking for so I decided to take a walk and see if I could find you around here. One of the Professors told me you brought your student to the hospital and promised to stay around him, so I took my chance and here I am.”
