Mated to alpha triplets at all-boys school Chapter 56
Ashley pov
After the first elite training with the Professor, I soon realized I really like archery. So much so that as the days went by, that was the only thing I really focused on and found myself immensely happy every time the three of us met back in the training gym.
And today is no exception. I’m bubbling in happiness from inside even though I try to appear unfazed on the outside.
Even before Anno and I went separate ways earlier, he pointed out that I’ve been glowing for the past couple of days ever since starting these classes.
There’s probably no need to point out that the fact that Kaiden hasn’t joined the Academy yet is playing a big role in my happiness too. From what I’ve heard, the little royal shit is struggling with the tests he has to undergo to join the elite part of the Academy. Ha, serves his ego well.
Anyway, once I walk into the gym, I feel like I’m back in my element. The Professor hasn’t arrived yet, but both Elias and Everett are already in the gym, as always - bright and early.
I try to ignore their presence for most part, but lately, it’s been hard since Everett has become increasingly nice to me and today is no exception.
Elias remains in his place as Everett approaches me. “Good morning, Ash. Rested well?” He asks as he stops in front of me and flashes me a smile.
As always, I nod and answer as carelessly as I can. “Good morning. Yes. You?”
He raises an eyebrow and smiles again. “Why so cold, huh? I don’t get it. I’ve been at my best behavior, the nicest guy in the town and you still act like some robotic creature. Come on, loosen up a little, we’re all friends here.”
“No, we’re not,” Elias snaps from where he stands.
I don’t pay him any attention, instead, focusing on the change in Everett. I’d lie if I said his behavior isn’t suspicious at all. I still have a feeling that he remembers something from that damn fantasy, but I can’t find a moment or the right words to question him.
“What he said,” is all I say, silently praying Everett will get the hind.
“Hey,” Everett whispers and takes a step closer. “You don’t need to push me away, I don’t mean any harm. Elias has a permanent stick up his ass, we’re all used to it by now and don’t pay attention to his PMS. You shouldn’t either. Seriously, Ash, I want to be your friend. Despite the first impression you had of me, I’m not half as bad.”
Truth be told, the look on his face and the gentle tone of Everett’s voice are creeping me the hell out.
I have no idea what exactly has changed and why he decided to flip the switch, but I don’t trust a word coming out of his mouth. And honestly, I doubt that I ever will. Men like him look for chances and perks, not genuine friends.
“Drop the act, Everett. We’re not friends, never were and never will be. I’m not your roomie anymore, you don’t have to pretend to want to get to know me.” I reply sternly, but make sure to keep my voice as quiet as possible.
Lately, Elias is having some serious issues with his attitude. No matter what I do or say, it pisses him off, so I try to stay quiet for most part.
Just during the last training, when I finally managed to hit the center of the target and had a little overwhelming victory moment, the guy laughed at me and then started taunting me. It’s like I can’t do anything right when it comes to Elias. Not that I’m trying or anything.
“You heard what the bug said, Ev. Let him be and focus on the task on hand. I’m telling you, you’re just wasting your fucking breath on that weakling. Don’t go all Ethan on him and get your ass over here,” Elias shouts.
For some reason, the remark pisses me off. I hate that Elias keeps calling me a bug as if I’m something easy to stomp on. Without thinking about the possible consequences, I roll my eyes, glare at Elias and snap back. “I don’t remember when we invited your opinion in this conversation.”
“And I don’t remember when fucking useless bugs were given goddamn right to voice their opinions, but here we stand, don’t we? I join the conversations I’m not invited in and you’re talking. Shame, isn’t it?” Elias replies without acknowledging my glare and smirks.
Yes, that annoys me even more. “You’re such an asshole, Elias. I seriously wonder how the planet can hold the weight of someone with an ego twice the size of the poor thing.”
“Easy, I’m light as a feather,” Elias grins.
“Elias, stop being a dick and leave us be. Seriously, I offered you to join, you told me you’d rather die than talk to Ash but you’re taking over the moment I get to talk to him. Mom told you to stop being such a prick to our friends, don’t make me tell on you.” Everett shouts, offering me a quick wink.
“Momma’s boy,” Elias laughs.
“Says the momma’s boy, yes. We all know you’re her favorite.”
“Whatever,” Elias mutters and turns his back on us just as the door to the gym opens and the Professor joins us.
“Sorry, I was held back at the office. Anyway, ready for the surprise I have for you guys?” He asks, not paying attention to anything but the open book in his hands.
Elias mutters something I can’t understand, but in the meantime, Everett and I exchange curious glances, clearly interested in whatever this surprise might be.
We stand silent as we watch the Professor close the book and toss it on his desk. Then, he turns to smile at us and rubs his hands, like he always does when he’s a little too excited. “Today, we build team spirit. Ash and Everett are getting friendlier, which is something I’m insanely pleased with, but Elias over here seems to prefer the lifestyle of a lone wolf. Well, that changes today, my dear students. Ash,” he looks at me and smiles. “Today, you and Elias are becoming one - your team spirit building exercise is to fight a common enemy in a simulation I’ve created for the both of you.”
