Mated to alpha triplets at all-boys school Chapter 29
Ashley pov
So, the outing with Anno was fun.. To say the least.
Throughout the meal, Anno, I and Rose couldn’t enjoy a moment of the conversation we tried to lead. Awkward as hell.
The main reason for the discomfort were the triplets. All three of them decided to send death glares our way.
After we were done with the food and paid for everything, thankfully they stayed behind and let us leave in peace.
Instead of heading home, I crashed with Anno because both of us agreed there is hell waiting for me home. I could bet my entire arm the triplets would be there, up and waiting for me in the living room.
Just thinking about the evening gives me chills. And today, I’m supposed to return home as if nothing happened.
Okay, the only positive part of this all is that today there are no morning classes, which also gives me some time to figure out what to do. Just like predicted, my damn period starts at the worst moment possible.
Anno is a guy, of course he doesn’t have any pads and tampons. Everyone here is a guy who thinks I’m a guy too, damn it!
“How about Rose? You can ask her, can’t you?” Anno perks up, looking so pleased with himself, I don’t have the strength to tell him that as soon as I leave his place, everyone will catch the stench of blood following me everywhere.
“That’s a great idea, but..” I stop, trying to ponder how to explain how this works to him.
Anno waves me off. “Don’t act like I don’t have women in my family. Blood reeks and all that, I know. I also know that the flow isn’t that awful at first and it smells like any regular blood until the cycle begins properly, which means we have time to get to Rose and deal with the issue. She’s a woman, working surrounded by weird men, of course she has figured something out for herself and can do the same thing for you.”
And - damn it - he has a point. He really does.
“Okay, that’s the best option we have anyway,” I agree and get to my feet.
“I can walk you to Rose and spit out some excuses about a cut or something if we run into someone on our way there, but once you get there, I’m sorry to say this - I have to leave you with her. You are blessed with a free morning, but I’m not that lucky.”
Anno sounds sad, like he really doesn’t want to leave my side, but has no other choice. Honestly, I don’t want him to leave either, but we don’t have the power to pull him out of the classes without a genuinely good reason.
Just imagine approaching the professor and explaining this. ‘Yeah, so I won’t attend the classes because my best friend started her period. She’s been pretending to be a guy to stay here, I’m sure you understand how that works, right?’
Shivers run down my spine at the thought alone. It’s awful.
But thankfully, as Anno walks me to Rose, we don’t meet anyone in our way. The grounds are calm, quiet and peaceful.
My luck would have it for us to run into the triplets, but that too doesn’t happen, so when Anno hugs Rose and whispers something in her ear, I feel like a winner for once.
She grabs my hand and pulls me inside the building, shouting at Anno to hurry if he doesn’t want to miss the start of his class.
Once the door closes, we both breathe out a sigh of relief. “It’s good you decided to come here, I have something that might help you.” She whispers and urges me to sit down on a chair.
I watch Rose check her bag and then open some drawers around the room. “Working here can be tricky, you know with men who have heightened senses and all. The dean hooked me up with a witch who does all those cool spells for everything, including period products,” she chuckles. “Sounds dumb, I know, but it’s really not. She knows how to hocus pocus the stuff like a pro - no one will even suspect anything.”
I furrow my brows. “So you’re saying there’s a witch who curses tampons, is that what you’re saying?”
I can’t believe those words are leaving me, I can’t even believe I’m thinking about them, but here we are..
Rose laughs and nods. “I suppose that’s what I’m saying. It’s not a curse, though, it’s a spell. Makes living and working with men so much easier, you know.”
Slowly, I nod, although I don’t know anything at all. Rose is used to this while for me, everything is new and scary.
“There,” she cheers and grabs what looks like a box to bring to me. “I have a lot more at my place, I’ll just bring a pack of replacement here tomorrow, you know - in case it starts for me too. But you can have these. Come to me again when you’re close to running out, I’ll get some extra to share.”
I must be the luckiest woman alive to have friends as caring as Anno and Rose. They don’t ask questions, just jump in to help.
Rose places the box in a bag and drops it next to the chair, looking a little uneasy. Then, she looks around and curses under her breath.
“Someone’s coming, it’s too late to send you to the bathroom so we will have to improvise. Play along, yes?” There’s a hidden plea in her voice, one I can’t ignore, so I nod in agreement.
Just as the door bursts open, Rose falls in my lap, wraps her arms around my shoulders and giggles.
“What-”
I don’t get to finish the question when she leans in to whisper in my ear. “If anyone notices the slight smell, they will think it’s coming from me, not you.”
Remember how I mentioned that my luck would have it that I would run into the triplets? Yeah, that happens, but instead of running into one or all, they barge in on us.
“What the fuck?” Everett snarls.
“So there you are. And there we were, worrying something might have happened to our friend,” Ethan adds, venom and hatred dipping from his words.
Elias just stands there, looks at his brothers and then at us. He shakes his head and pinches the bridge of his nose. “Don’t mind the morons, please. We came by to check if our uniforms are ready, not to intrude. We will come back a little later after you’re done with whatever you’re doing here.”
