Mated to alpha triplets at all-boys school Chapter 151
Elias pov
I watch and satisfaction how the Elders are trying to sputter up excuses for the king and his son. Every man, sitting around the table, offers more outrageous excuses than the previous one did.
And the more I listen to them, the less I believe a word leaving their lips. Here I was, thinking that the council was supposed to be reliable. These men are supposed to represent their alliance with the pack's best interest at heart.
What they're doing instead is making fools out of themselves. They, all of them, look like complete idiots. A bunch of senile morons, who think they are better than everyone else.
“Luna, may I please speak up?” One of the Elders asks as he raises from his seat.
Mom pins him down with a glare. Goddess, if looks could kill mom who would have slaughtered all of them ages ago. “I advise you do, Elder, because right now, this meeting isn't working in your favor at all.”
“Yes, understand that,” he grumbles and clears his throat. “First, I would like to point out that there is nothing we could use to excuse the doings of the king and his son. We have been trying our best to keep everything in order, but I believe you understand that controlling the king is a rather tricky task. Therefore, I would like to extend my apologies. Apologies from the entire council for our shortcomings.”
Mom scuffs. “The apologies do nothing but make you appear a little better than you actually are. If you grip a knife and stab someone just because you mutter a weak apology doesn't mean you won't leave a scar. Besides, it is not me you should apologize to, my pack isn't suffering because of your mad king and his bratty offspring.”
Mom's voice keeps becoming louder until dad gently lays his hand on her shoulder and she manages to pull herself together. “Should I take over the meeting, darling?” He whispers, smiling down at mom so lovingly, I can't help but long for the day when I will get to experience love as powerful and pure as theirs.
“No, that is not necessary. We agreed that I will settle this question and I will.” Mom responds by placing her hand over dad's and squeezing it a little, giving him as much reassurance as he's been giving her.
I absolutely adore their give and get type of relationship. Never have I witnessed a situation in which only one of them would benefit from the other, they always ensure that both of them are equal, no matter the situation.
As I almost lose myself in my thoughts, daydreaming about the perfection they have created, the balance they hold so dear to their hearts, and the love they share, I almost lose one of the most important things said during this meeting.
“Luna, it is not our fault that the king won't follow the law,” one of the Elders speaks from his seat. That fact alone earns him a threatening growl from my father. Speaking out of place, without bothering to stand up as you address Luna or Alpha is an utmost sign of disrespect.
Mom rolls her eyes. “Of course, what did I expect, there is no way the council of Elders would ever be responsible for upholding the law within their alliance, let alone holding their king on a shorter leash rather than watching him destroy the alliance from within.”
“That is not what I meant,” the Elder tries to argue.
“I know,” mom laughs, “what you meant is that you hold no accountability for ignoring your primary responsibilities. This is one of the top reasons why we never agreed to join your alliance. In our pack, we value the law as a tool for upholding peace and avoiding unnecessary bloodshed. Which, if you haven't noticed, it's something you struggle with. Every time the king decides to show his greed by attacking smaller packs within the alliance, you don't move a finger to stop him. You never do. And you never bring punishment upon his son who has taken so many innocent lives.”
“That is irrelevant,” one of the Elders speaks over my mother, slamming his fist against the table.
That points his finger at the man, “one more fucking word from your mouth and I will execute you in front of your friends. Dare to do as much as look at my Luna and I will pull your tongue out of your mouth, and shove it so far up your asshole, you'll be able to taste it.”
The Elder's face pales, and he raises his hands in surrender, averting his gaze down to avoid a chance of glancing at my mother.
I grin at dad and nod to show him not only that I agree with his threat, but also support his stance. Then, just to make things funnier, I speak up for the first time during this meeting. “Beta, would you be so kind as to remove the muzzle from my brother's face? It looks like some of these men have too many body parts.”
Dad barely holds back the laughter, Beta only grins, mom shows no emotion, and Everett is frantically whispering something under his breath, something that sounds like a bad word himself of which body part Ethan will take first.
“There is no need to go to such lengths,” an Elder interjects, looking like he’s about to piss his pants.
“There wasn't,” mom agrees. “But now, after you proved just how little you care about coming to a peaceful solution, I believe it's the best we demonstrate how little tolerance we have for bullshit.”
Beta takes off Ethan’s muzzle and slaps his back. “Wait for the sign, buddy, as soon as you get it, go wild.”
“We want a peaceful solution, we want the peace, please we want the peace,” an Elder screams, clutching at his white hair, probably experiencing an early sign of a heart attack.
Mom grins so widely, even I’m a little creeped out. “And we want the king’s head.”
