"This can't be happening..." my father said, covering his mouth in fear as he paced back and forth in the room the king had given me in the castle.

It had been such a shock to me to realize that Mildred had found her second chance mate.

Although I would never accept that concept, never accept that she was no longer mine and that she was free to take another mate, much less Asher.

I was almost certain that the King was going to give her to Asher... and would have if I hadn't shown up at that lousy bar at just the right time.

I didn't know what to do. So I went to tell my father, sooner or later he would find out and I would need his help.

"Are you sure she was your true mate?... it doesn't make any sense!" he said.

"I'm sure, my wolf told me…"

"How is it possible that this weak human has two mates?" he said, surprised.

"She doesn't... she's mine. I can't imagine him touching her... "

I hadn't told my father about the moment with Jenny, that I was so close to not being able to respond to him in bed like a real man.

Just that afternoon, I had touched myself in the bathroom just thinking about Mildred. Damn it. I had come in a glorious way.

Just thinking about tying her to my bed and filling all her holes. I imagined her on her hands and knees... as I rammed her mercilessly.

"You need to fight for her..." he said suddenly.

“What?” I was shocked.

“You hear me…”

"I thought you were going to tell me to leave her... after all, she's just a poor human," I said.

"Use your brain, boy! Didn't I just tell you about the prophecy?" he asked angrily, holding my shoulders.

"I..."

"The day of the Red Moon will come, when a wolf of low rank joins a powerful Alpha..." my father said.

"I... I don't think I've ever heard that prophecy..." I was confused. What the hell was going on?

"It's changed over time, some wolves think it's about the red moon itself, but for years our family has known that it refers to our pack. Of course, no Alpha wants to take a low-ranking Luna... but..." he explained.

"Do you think she is that low rank?"

"When have you ever seen a weak human mate with an Alpha?" he asked me.

The truth was that not long ago, an Alpha got a human with Alpha blood, and she turned him into an immensely powerful wolf. Would it be the same for me? Or worse... Asher?

"She's ours... she's destined for great things," my wolf Balo told me.

"Don't you think it is a coincidence she came just when we needed her most? That's how the goddess' plans work!" he said, annoyed.

"Our pack will never accept her as their Luna..."

"The pack will accept whatever we tell them, stupid boy! We are alphas!"

"I was thinking of leaving her in the pack... far away. Then... take Jenny," I said.

"You wanted to have two mates?" he asked, and I didn't know what to say.

"I... I..."

"Your problem is that you only think with what's between your legs!" he yelled, hitting me and throwing me to the ground. I growled, and my wolf was defensive.

"You have to make up for your mistake... What if she really stays with Asher? Our worst enemy? He would take our pack... everything," he said, and I started to worry that I've really screwed up.

"What can I do?"

"Win her over... you have to seduce her, lie to her if necessary, appeal to her sense of honor for the pack."

"That's impossible... she must hate me and the whole pack!" I said in despair.

"Do what you have to do... check the deal and look for a loophole that will allow you to get her. If necessary, use the dirtiest maneuvers. The end justifies the means..." he walked up to me and grabbed my face.

"If you succeed... you may get everything you want. In time, you may not need the human. You could be the most powerful Alpha of all..." he said. I started to think that the possibilities could be endless.

"I will do it, Father... I promise."

"I'll stay with the pack and try to keep things running smoothly."

"Maybe... I can find out things here, even from Alpha Asher..." I said.

"Very good, very good... you're thinking, boy," he said smiling.

"How do I begin?" I asked.

"You have to get a head start on her, let her know she's yours..." he said, pondering.

"You told me there's a demoness in the castle... she could be useful"

"How?"

"It's dangerous..." he answered thoughtfully.

"I'll do anything!"

"Demons can only be on earth if they are attached to a person. And they are loyal to this person, they are able to do anything, they are completely devoted to them as if they were their slaves, but they really do it with conviction..." he said, and I was surprised.

"But it is obvious that she is bound to the king? Nothing more, nothing less!"

"Something binds them, it's usually an object that represents their bond. You have to take it... the woman will still be his... but she will also respond to you," he explained.

I walked down the corridors, looking for Mildred. Her scent drove me crazy... she smelled like peaches... and I wanted to eat her whole.

I found her lost in a hallway and pulled her by one arm, cornered her against a wall, and pressed her against my body.

"Were you trying to get away from me, little dove?" I asked her and felt her shiver.

I rubbed my hips against her and could already feel myself getting hard. I could almost swear she was wet. It would be so easy to take her right here. Balo howled inside me.

She shook her head but didn't speak; she had a horrible metal collar that would no doubt prevent me from marking her. Damn it!

"You still can't talk? I need you to tell me how you made it out of the pack? How did you disobey my command? Do you like to disobey me?" She was nervous as a little bunny in my clutches. I brought my fingers to her lips and stroked them. So soft…

"You are mine... get it through your head, Mildred."

"Easy, easy, Alpha..." I heard a woman's voice and saw that it was the demoness. She pulled Mildred away from me.

"You'll get your turn, wolf, is that clear?" she put a hand on my chest to push me away and there I saw a small bracelet with a plaque that said "Forever Yours".

A means to an end.
