Werewolf
Sold by my Alpha, bought by my Mate Chapter 92: After the eclipse
Mildred
When I finally wake up, I feel completely lost, I fear that I'm back in Red Moon, but my surroundings prove me wrong. I am in a familiar room, not cold, and I feel as safe as if I were in heaven.
The first thing I notice is the familiarity of my things, and when I look up at the ceiling, I realize that I am in Her Majesty's castle.
Everything begins to come back to me: the eclipse, the election, being locked up, the fear, my nightmare.
"Mate? Millie?" I hear a wonderful voice and for a moment I think I am asleep again.
I feel exquisite hands touching my arm and back, and lips kissing my forehead with an adoration that can only mean one thing or someone.
"Asher..." I say happily, and when I turn to see him, I am in awe.
"Here I am, my love. You're safe, and nothing bad is going to happen to you," he says, planting soft kisses on my hair. I had no idea what had happened, but I would believe this man until the end of my days.
"What happened?"
"Randall, he came after enemies, but you were right. If we hadn't done what you said, I don't know what would have happened," he tells me worriedly, the fear reflected in his face as he recounts the events of last night.
"Where is he?" I ask, sitting up.
"He finally showed his true colors, and he's gone. Maybe he'll come back, but we'll be ready," he answers.
Suddenly I feel the need to be next to him, as if I can't take my eyes off this wonderful man who holds me in his arms.
"You feel it, don't you? You don't have a wolf to tell you, but you feel the connection anyway, because you're so powerful, my love," he tells me as if reading my mind, leaning in for a kiss that reaches every corner of my body.
He does it with tenderness and devotion, as if it were the first kiss of our lives, as if it were the kiss we will remember until our last breath.
"Asher... I have something to tell you. I chose you a long time ago..." I tell him, breaking the kiss, and he looks at me smiling.
"I know, my love... I know you chose me," he says delighted.
"But I... I didn't say anything... I don't know what happened... I had a dream and..." I say nervously.
I don't understand, but suddenly he reaches for something on a table next to me.
"These are my paintings..." some of them were old, I was a little embarrassed for him to see them.
"Apparently you were painting during the eclipse," he says, and I don't remember.
However, at some point when I woke up, my nightmare had paint marks on my hand. Could it be that I was painting?
"I thought I was dreaming, maybe I wasn't," I say confused, but he doesn't seem to care, as if it's enough that I'm with him.
He hugs me even more, and I let him touch me, happy to have this moment when we seemed to be one, a moment when the uncertainties were over. Finally, he and I were mates, if there had ever been any doubts, they were gone.
Just when I thought he was finally going to take me in his arms and kiss me the way I needed him to, we heard a knock on the door.
"Who is it?" Asher was visibly upset.
"I'm so sorry, my friend, but I felt Miss was awake, and the king needs to speak with you," Jeremiah appeared.
"Can't they wait? I just got her back," he replied in a grumpy tone, and I smiled at the vampire.
"We'll be there. We have all the time in the world to be together," I tell my mate, stroking his hands.
"It's good to have you back, miss," Jeremiah answers me happily. It was quite a process convincing Asher that we needed to get ready to see the king, but in the meantime he told me about the eclipse and other bad news.
"Ava? No way!"
"Jeremiah says maybe she's helping us, that all is not lost, but the king is crazy, he wants nothing to do with her. I think she is suffering," he explains, and I feel a hole in my heart.
She had saved me so many times and was a good friend. I did not want to doubt her, no matter what anyone said.
Everything around me seemed to be falling into place. The attack had been quite unexpected, and even when Asher told me that I had been practically unconscious for a few hours, the castle looked like it was still trying to get itself together.
The king was under extreme guard, and we were thoroughly searched before we could even approach him.
"Your Majesty," the vampire said as we arrived in front of the king, and we all bowed.
Maximus looked worn out and in a worse mood than usual. Something told me it was because of Ava.
"At least we have some good news, and that is that the human seems to have made a good decision. These gentlemen tell me that you've finally decided on your mate. But I wanted to hear it from your own mouth," he said and waved me over.
I took a deep breath, now more than ever there was something in him that told me he was dangerous, even though I had heard our enemies say he was weak.
"Yes, Your Majesty, I have made my decision. My mate is and always has been Asher, Alpha of River Ash," I say, seeing smiling faces.
"Then you are on our side. And because his pack is loyal to me, I assume that you will be as well, as the next Luna."
"So it shall be, Your Majesty."
"I am told that your prophecies, or dreams, were also instrumental in saving several lives during the last attack," he says. Asher takes my hand and caresses it lovingly, showing me that he's there for me.
"That is true, Your Majesty. Miss Luna was right, and thanks to them, we took action. However, they cannot be controlled. We just have to pay attention to what she says," Asher says.
It seems to me that he and Jeremiah do not want the king to see me as a weapon. The girl who sees the future.
"Have you ever seen anything of my demoness?" he asks me directly.
"No, Your Majesty, but if I may say...Ava has always spoken of you with such devotion and I can't imagine that she would be against you," I say, and it seems as if my words mean nothing.
Suddenly we hear a scream and doors open and Duncan appears. It was as if he had been tied up and suddenly broke free and ran here.
"Your Majesty! Please, she had nothing to do with this, I would put my hands on fire for her! Ava could not have done anything wrong!" he says desperately.
