I had mixed feelings. I couldn't believe that my mate chose to be with that brute instead of being with her Alpha. I had saved her from that wild wolf's attack, not to mention saving her life in the fire.

I hadn't even kissed her! I knew Asher had already done it!

"I was really left with the stupidest human of all," my wolf murmured, grumbling.

"I'm doing my best to get her back! Even making deals that I know will cost me dearly!" I said.

"You rejected her and broke her heart. You have mistreated her for years. If you think that by saying a few things to her, she will choose you, you are not only very wrong, but you don't know anything about women. You've slept with several women, but you have no idea how to treat them," I said firmly.

"Do you know anything about women, wolf?"

"I don't need to know about women, idiot. I know about her, and that's more than enough," Balo shouted.

I had to admit that he had an excellent point because wolves were even more attached to their mates.

"We just have to earn her trust bit by bit, listen to her and make her feel safe, that's the first step. She has been through a lot, and we will need time."

"We don't have much time..."

"Then it's up to you to use that empty head to think of a way to buy more time. I'll take care of beautiful Mildred," I sighed, realizing I didn't have many options.

As soon as I got to my room, I began to walk among the many things I had bought for her. Expensive things for her, but she didn't seem to mind.

I especially hated the flowers and their smell, but that was probably what attracted her the most.

Suddenly, I found a message on a piece of paper on the floor.

"Go to the demon's room and try to find the point that connects to the king's room," it said.

As soon as I read it, a small spark burned it and dissolved it in my hands. A message from the Whisperers. How had it gotten here? I had no idea.

"Couldn't they choose a more complicated place?"

The demoness didn't take her eyes off me. I couldn't forget how she had threatened me and treated me like a cockroach. I was her master, damn it! But she was resisting, and I had to find a way to get her under my power, too.

When I went to her room, I noticed that the door opened easily. Perhaps it was because I was her master. The room was dark and all black, with drawings and things of dark animals. Something like a gothic room or a satanic cult. It made sense.

I saw a door further on, I tried to open it, but it wouldn't budge. It must be the one that communicates with the king's room. Interesting.

Now I had to wait for another message from these maggots. When I came out, I found myself facing my mate.

"What are you doing here?" she asked.

She was sweaty and dressed in gym clothes. Her little curves were wonderfully defined, and I sighed, her scent driving me crazy.

Although I was totally against her working out, especially with Ava.

To me, a woman shouldn't be into such things; they should trust a man to protect her. Women were supposed to be small and weak, while men were supposed to be strong. They could harm women, but we chose not to. For me, that was trust.

"Please, don't say these barbaric things to our mate," my angry wolf whispered, and I stopped myself.

"I was looking for you," I said, and when I put my hand on her shoulder, she seemed to tremble.

"Are you okay?"

"Yes, that's what... I remembered a terrible nightmare I had," she replied nervously.

The only good news I had was that Asher was being punished and wouldn't be able to see her for two days. So I dedicated myself to trying to win her over, but I swear I ran out of ideas.

I had a romantic dinner at the castle. We talked for a while, and then we fell silent, with nothing more to say.

I couldn't help but think that she felt uncomfortable and would rather be with him, which made me terribly bitter.

"Talk to her about her family. She's an orphan, and it's a subject that interests her," Balo suggested, and he was right. He knew her better than I did.

"Little dove... did you know that your father trained as a warrior?" I asked, seeing the excitement in her eyes.

"Really?"

"That's right... He was an Omega, but when he got your mother and found out she was pregnant with you, he asked to train to protect you. I talked to the chief of the warriors back then, and he told me that your father was a very strong wolf," I said, and she smiled. Her cheeks flushed, and her teeth sparkled.

She looked more beautiful every time. Of course, she had better care here. She had gained a little weight, and in general, even with everything that had happened, she was more at peace. She also had people who cared about her.

"Our pack did a lot of damage to her," Balo said with pain. She was a different person after leaving Red Moon.

"I would like to know more about them," she whispered to me, as if she was afraid to ask.

"Of course! I've already asked for more information. My priority is that you're happy, mate. And although it's true that you had a really terrible experience with Asher's wolf... Balo would be very happy to meet you, could be in a safe environment with warriors. I want you to feel comfortable," I explained, and she seemed undecided.

That night, I let her sleep far away from me, although I did take a glance at her in her long t-shirt, wanting so much to see what was underneath.

I just glimpsed at her panties and nothing more. My mouth watered. Even though she wore the clothes Asher had given her, she didn't take off anything that stupid barbarian had given her.

"Everything is getting better. Soon she will see things differently," Balo assured me, and I had to agree.

But the next morning, I found out that Ava had a brilliant idea that everyone seemed to love.

"Don't you think it would be a good idea for Little thing to visit both packs so she can get to know them and the members can get to know her? It might help her make a decision," the demoness suggested, and I was paralyzed.

"Damn woman!"

Ava looked at me gleefully, knowing the damage she had done. How could I win over my mate by taking her to the place where she had suffered so much?
