Werewolf
Sold by my Alpha, bought by my Mate Chapter 131: Run my friend
Ava
I felt my strength failing. Having my master, whom I truly loved, far away and knowing that he no longer cared for me, took a toll on me.
I needed him, I needed a true bond. I was so desperate to know what the future would bring that I couldn't think of anything else. Only at night did I dream of Duncan, his body, his skin, his smile... even the sound of his voice was paradise.
"If the goddess helps me, I'll see him again, even if it's in battle, even if he wants to kill me," I thought sadly when I woke up in the middle of the night.
As if my weakness wasn't enough, Randall forced me to use my powers to spy on Mildred.
I couldn't see what he saw, but it was undoubtedly something perverse, because he could sit there for hours, in the middle of his tent with a clouded look on his face, as if possessed.
The demons had fed him with vampire blood, and it had sharpened his senses, but it was also slowly changing him. My brothers were making him more and more their slave, and the fool didn't realize it.
Randall was obsessed, possessed by his selfishness, his narcissism. I wondered how I could take advantage of this, but events were still unfolding and all my plans were up in the air.
"Yes, it has to be chaos so that the human Luna can't see where we're attacking from," I heard my brothers say.
I had been very clever and had gone unnoticed all these days. Hiding, looking weak, and doing everything I could to make them forget about me.
Wolves in war transformed, they become killing machines, planning the death of others and easily forgetting the rest, and I counted on that. Jessica stayed hidden in the tent; I brought her food, and we discussed what we had heard.
"Randall wants weapons," she told me.
"It's true, he wants more and more advantage and power. I also heard that the demons want him to lead the charge to take the castle. That doesn't make much sense, he's not very good at attacking."
"Maybe they want him to find his mate, the human," Jessica says.
"Yes, that seems to be it. We make a good team, don't you think?" I ask her and she smiles.
She had gone through a hard time with the death of her friend Jenny, but I knew that deep down there was a very brave woman capable of many things, and I would make sure that her she-wolf would come out when we needed her.
"Yes, I think so. You're the only one who's been kind to me in a long time," she said.
I kept Randall from touching her, other men from seeing her, and in general we took care of each other. If I knew anything, it was that she was my only chance to move this plan forward, the only chance for her to get out of this alive.
"Jessica, you have to get out of here," I told her, and she shook her head in horror. We had talked about this several times; the she-wolf was resisting.
"I can't... he'll kill me, and if it's not him, it'll be his Beta Ivan. He has his eye on me. He's wanted me for a long time... he just wants to use me," she said nervously.
"I promise I'll make sure that doesn't happen. I've been planning this for days, my plans come and go, but the only thing I'm sure of is that you have to leave here”
I had spent hours explaining to her where we were and what was nearby, the places she could run to, where she could hide, the safest way to get away from here and talk to our allies.
If you will, the most complicated and dangerous part was this: how would they believe she was on the king's side? If she said she was on my side, it would be even less believable.
"I can't... I've never been a very strong woman, or one who could survive in the forest..."
"You won't survive here, Jessica. We are at war; you will just become a war trophy. At the very least, you'll have to leave here and hide when many things happen; they'll be so busy they won't focus on your absence," I explained to her. She trembled, and I saw tears welling up in her eyes, and she sobbed.
"I will risk myself if necessary, but you will leave here. You have to warn of what is happening, the changes in strategy, the enemies involved... everything you and I have been gathering for days. Does it seem trivial to you? Do you think they consider us important? They will never imagine that we were the ones who helped destroy them. We will save many, Jessica," I told her, and she looked at me in surprise.
"Do you really think they can be destroyed?" she asked, and I realized that she had been so absorbed by these wolves that it was all she knew. To her, the world was those bad men, and I didn't blame her.
"There are different people in the world. My master is a hard and ruthless man, but fair. There are good Alphas who support people, who accept rogues, who take care of women and children, who respect all life. There are also very strong Lunas who are capable of incredible things... this is not the whole world, Jessica." I told her, seeing a glimmer of hope in her eyes. Just what I needed.
"Alright... I will do it. I will have the courage... like those Lunas you always talk about," she said, smiling.
I had prepared a small backpack for her with a few things I had stolen from here and there. I gave her the last things.
"Keep this... keep it in your shoes, and if there's any danger, don't hesitate to use it," I told her, giving her a small stone knife.
I had made it myself, sharpened and carved it. I also gave her a small pouch of wolfsbane and a leather glove I had stolen from the armory at the base of the camp. And after a few days, the time came.
"Today is the day, Jessica... put this on. Remember what I told you, tell them" I told her, giving her a uniform of the free wolves warriors. They were the only women here, and she could blend in with them.
Jessica seemed nervous, but much more determined, and when I saw her ready, I knew there was a chance.
"Hide behind those trees. At my sign... run" I told her, and as she walked away, I used my last energies to make a tree fall right on a bonfire, killing some vampires.
There was a commotion; the warriors ran everywhere, thinking that something had happened, that perhaps the enemy had discovered us.
"Help! Attack!"
“Hurry!” they yelled.
"Run my friend" I thought.
I remained lying in the middle of the tent, and slowly I noticed that Jessica's scent was fading. She must be far away by now. And now I was completely alone.
