Werewolf
Sold by my Alpha, bought by my Mate Chapter 108: In need of allies
Randall
"You must think really think I´m a moron, if you think I would believe that you would betray your king.
"The king helped me when I needed him, so I offered him my protection and loyalty. Our union allowed me to stay on Earth for a long time... and it gave him even more power than I already had. But everything changed, what happened, his conviction that I had betrayed him... changed our situation," she said.
She looked haggard, I knew she was having a hard time, but it's best I get to the bottom of this so she can truly be my ally.
"What do you mean? Do you have any proof? Did you see him?" I ask, approaching her.
She's on the ground, kneeling. I knew it would be hard for her, she was always so arrogant.
"I felt it; how he completely broke our bond. He hates me," she confessed, crestfallen.
I didn't know if I should believe her; she was a smart woman, and I had to be sure she was on my side before I involved her in the plans I wanted so much.
I wanted to believe her.
"Are you telling me you don't have feelings for him anymore?" I asked her, and she swallowed hard, her mouth trembling.
The demons really had her in a bad place after all the beatings and torture. They told me to improve my bond with her, but what they don't know is that I only want her on my side, not theirs.
"Of course not, I still have feelings for him, but... even if I don't want to accept it, my loyalty is tied to the talisman and sooner or later I'll have to answer to whoever has it," she says, and I smile to myself.
There was something about her that I had liked from the first moment I saw her. She was an intelligent woman, yes, but also stunning and beautiful, with her dark skin and thick black hair. She was… different.
I imagined what it would be like to have her at my beck and call, even if she refused. Perhaps... she would not refuse for long.
I was fascinated by a woman with so much power. It was unusual for me that a woman could be so strong, and so resistant to me. But if Maximus could have tamed her... so could I.
Though, she was not a woman in the strict sense of the word; she was a demon in a woman's body. A rather sensual one.
"I mean, I took your talisman," I tell her, but my smile disappears when she denies it.
"You have the talisman, but the real power lies with my brothers. They have been taking more and more of your energy to be here," she says, and I growl.
"Lies!"
"It's the truth. That's why the loss of Mildred's bond hasn't affected you the way it should, that's why I don't bend to you completely. They have given you power, yes, but they are also taking something else away from you..." she tells me and I reach over and grab her by the neck. She's still bound and unable to defend herself, but she doesn't even flinch.
"What do you mean?"
"Your humanity... and if you don't stop them in time, they will control you completely."
"Nonsense! You're trying to get something out of this, aren't you? Fool me and fool us all!"
"And you and I both know that when they get what they want… they'll put you aside, or if not, they'll rule for you. They only care about themselves," she says, and I let her go.
I know there is some truth to what she says, but it still bothers me.
"What do you suggest?"
"To finish them when the time is right. Then you'll have the power all to yourself. Much better than sharing it with them," she says, and I can't deny that the idea appeals to me.
"What's in it for you?"
"I'd rather... see the world in the hands of wolves... not treacherous demons like them," she answers. That might make sense.
"We'll see, but for me to believe you, you'll have to prove to me that you're really on my side," I say, caressing her lips with my finger.
"You'll see that I am," she whispers, and it sounds like a promise. One that I think I'm going to like.
When suddenly we're interrupted.
"Alpha... you have visitors," one of the warriors says, and I step out of the tent to see Ivan and other warriors from my pack.
"Alpha..." they say and bow to me.
Surely, this is the treatment I really want; the one I feel I deserve. I know that some of the pack must not be happy about my father's disappearance. My mother must be distraught, and besides... I wasn't there. Ivan was responsible for keeping everything under control.
"Alpha, we know what you've been working on, and we've come to show our respect and offer our help," one of the warriors says as I smile at myself.
I know that my methods as Alpha were not the best and that many people in the pack will be against it, but it will all make sense in the end.
"Thank you, gentlemen. Of course, I need everyone's help," I say, being the benevolent Alpha that I am.
I knew my Beta was behind this. He had controlled the pack as I had asked. With threats, torture and whatever it took.
"We are here, ready for whatever you wish and whatever I can help you with. We know the plans are big and important, and of course everything will be for the benefit of all," Ivan said with a bow.
"Our pack will benefit the most. I would expect nothing less from you," I say, pleased.
"And to prove it, we've brought you a gift," he says, and when I look it's a very nervous Jessica peeking out in a tiny little dress.
I see all the warriors smiling, and so do I.
"Well, that's a really beautiful gift," I say as she comes into my arms and I hold her close, squeezing her ass, and she is shaking.
"You will see, gentlemen, Red Moon will be the most important pack of all. And you will be here to see when it all begins. We... the true children of the Moon Goddess, the ones born to rule over all others," I say solemnly.
"It is your destiny, Alpha... you have truly been chosen," Ivan says, and they all bow to me.
"Yes, it is our destiny..." Balo says in my head.
"We'll make it, you'll see. Maybe everything that happened with little dove is to make us fight harder for her. The greater prize doesn't come without effort and sacrifice"
