Werewolf
Sold by my Alpha, bought by my Mate Chapter 159: A chain of energy
Mildred
"Hold her!"
"Careful!"
"What the hell happened?" a female voice asked.
"Your Majesty, Your Majesty!" they shouted as I felt someone carrying me.
"Luna, Luna, please," a man said, stroking my face as I felt a wet cloth on my forehead.
"She's fine... she's not hurt," a woman said, and when I opened my eyes it seemed like I hadn't seen light in so long.
"What happened?" I ask, and when I focus my eyes, I realise it's Duncan and Jessica.
"Don't you remember?" he asks me.
And suddenly my memory goes back to hell, the demons haunting me, the despair and the fear that I would die there.
"The names, the seven names..."
"I have them..." another strong and almost sinister voice says, and when I turn around, it's the king.
He looked radiant, as if an inner fire threatened to consume everything. His presence is so imposing that it's difficult to look at him, to make eye contact, to be near him.
Suddenly I saw what appeared to be the demon, charred as if struck by lightning. And in front of it, where the other cells were, there was a hole like a huge crater in the ground, as if there had been a huge explosion.
"What's there?" I ask, suddenly frightened, even though I don't understand what this hole means.
"You came from there, Luna, or at least your spirit or your consciousness. We don't know exactly, but suddenly the ground opened up under our feet, we thought we'd lost you, and then you came back to life, you reacted."
"Was I dead?"
"Unconscious... I saw what you did, Luna. You fought the demons, they tried to take our world and you stopped them. You used your power, which is even stronger than we imagined, and you used some of their energy, and now I have it," the king said. I heard a commotion behind the door, desperate cries, and it all came back to me: the war, the pain, our enemies, our struggle.
"There was a wall, and they attacked me..." I say worriedly.
"Don't worry, the wall has fallen and with it many demons, and I have already closed the connection between the two worlds," says the King as he approaches the doors.
"Your Majesty, the enemies are there, I can't let you open the door," Duncan says, scared, while Jessica holds me now.
"Nothing will happen to us, believe me, I'll take care of it," he says as he approaches the door, walking confidently, and we all know there's no stopping him.
The King opens the door with a mighty blow and the metal door explodes into pieces. The first thing we see is a huge creature fighting warriors and werewolves, but they all fall before it.
"Demons, one of the demons!" says Jessica, and we can't believe it.
"Impossible..."
Duncan continues to carry me and when we can see better, we see the devastation of the place. There are dead, Alphas and vampires, and I fear the worst.
"We need to find our Alpha," I tell the Beta, but he seems to have made an oath and won't let me out of his sight for anything in the world.
"Finally, a worthy opponent," the demon says, and as the king advances I hear sounds of surprise, for the aura he possesses must be incredibly powerful.
"I have come to finish you, demon. Believe me, I've got what it takes, and this time there will be no mercy and no truce," Maximus says, and the demon laughs.
"I need no mercy and I won't give any, wolf," says the demon, and I notice that it only has one arm, but with the other it leaps and tries to strike with long chains that come out of its hands at the king, who now seems very small, but still he skillfully dodges them.
Now it seemed as if the king's hands were producing some kind of light whips, almost like flames, which were fighting the demon's chains.
"Have you come with new tricks? It won't save you from anything. You don't have the power to defeat me, as many of your allies have already discovered," the demon says.
"Don't you see where my power comes from? I have what it takes to defeat a demon," says the king, and now the demon seems to understand.
"No, you can't..." says the demon in anguish, and the king smiles.
"From the very last circle of hell," he says, and now his flames are incredibly powerful, taking the demon's chains and practically melting them, while the creature screams, lost, as if so surprised that it doesn't know how to react.
The chains fall to the dungeon floor like silvery threads, almost liquid, while the demon shrinks to its normal size and moves away from the king.
"Attack him! Don't let him win!" the demon shouts to its allies, who clumsily try to face His Majesty, but he catches them with the same flames. They fall, engulfed in flames and light, screaming desperately.
Screams echo through the castle, the gardens and almost the entire kingdom, for this has been a blow to the heart of our enemies.
This is it, this is their end.
His Majesty's soldiers regroup, finishing off the remaining enemies, tending to the wounded and protecting the others. Duncan and Jessica stay by my side, never leaving me alone as I desperately search my eyes for my Alpha.
"You can't defeat us, you can't finish us," the demon said as it tried to defend itself, but it was clear that the king was a formidable and superior opponent, and that the creature's hours were numbered.
"'You came to slay my warriors, to terrify my people and my kingdom. You came with lies, betraying everyone as you have betrayed hell itself. But they didn't count on me being able to stop you, even though there was a prophecy that was not for you, but against you. And today you are defeated," the king said as he cornered the demon against a wall, and though the creature looked terrified, it was also convinced, as if it knew it couldn't win against him.
"You can hurt me, but you know I'll come back, this is not the end, you'll never be in peace. You are just wolves, though ancient and very powerful," the demon said, convinced.
And the king, unarmed and unprotected, facing the enemy, get close, very close and said very calmly:
"I repeat so you can understand: Today you are defeated... Baal, Belial..."
"No, it can't be! It can't be!" the demon began to scream, covering his ear with one hand as if he didn't want to hear, but there was nothing he could do.
"Biel, Bael..." the king continued, and it seemed he had hit the mark as the creature began to scream.
"No, no!" it said desperately, as the king's warriors watched in amazement as its body became increasingly emaciated.
His clothes disappeared, and his body burned slowly. Suddenly, the entire dungeon shook as the demon's screams continued. His skeletal arm dragged with few chains, as pieces of stone fell from the ceiling, he was trying to shape, and I feared what might happen.
"The structure is collapsing!" Duncan said as I heard names being called, including mine.
The creature burned, and with it came a great shudder, and now dust and more stones were upon us.
"Millie! Millie!" I heard my mate's voice calling out to me.
Suddenly the roof and this part of the castle collapsed and there was only darkness.
