Werewolf
Sold by my Alpha, bought by my Mate Chapter 150: An element from hell
Mildred
"Luna! Luna, Mildred!" I hear someone calling me and slowly it's like I'm coming back to earth.
I had felt an agonizing pain; I hadn't been attacked, I was protected here, but everything pointed to the fact that it wasn't me who had been targeted.
"Asher..." I sighed as Duncan cautiously approached me. When he saw my face and my mark, he sighed in relief.
"It must have been Alpha Asher that got hurt," Jessica said.
"Believe me, it takes a lot more than that to defeat the Big Alpha."
Of course, in all battles and wars, anything can happen, but now I doubted my heart could take not only that pain, but the uncertainty of not knowing what had occurred.
I didn't know how much time had passed when we heard a commotion and heavy footsteps approaching.
"Constantine," the king said as he approached his advisor, who was panting and had wounds on his hands and face.
"I'm fine, I'm fine, you were right, the stone worked..."
"Is he dead?" Duncan asked.
"I would venture to say yes. The scream he made was terrifying; I think I can still hear it."
"Incredible... the fog is gone," the king said, looking out the window.
"But that's not all; on the way back, I saw hybrids in the corridors," the man said, and I gasped.
"Hybrids?" Maximus asked.
"Yes, Your Majesty, but believe me, they are unlike anything we've seen before," the counselor said.
"That's not possible, is it?" I asked.
"Unfortunately, the demons have proven themselves capable of too many things, especially the most evil ones," the king said.
"Then we must find a safer place," Duncan said.
"Impossible, the king's chambers are the safest place in the castle," said the advisor.
"And the first place they will come to. If they have managed to get into the castle, they are getting closer to finding us," the Beta replied.
"I don't think that's wise," said the king.
"My Alpha left me here to protect my Luna, and I won't let him down," Duncan said firmly, daring to challenge the king himself.
Suddenly we heard noises and approaching footsteps.
"Your Majesty, the enemy is very close, we have to distract them, you have to leave," the warrior said, and now it seemed that we had no other choice.
I saw Duncan grabbing my paintings and my things and getting ready to flee.
"Where is the second-safest place?" Jessica asked, and the king answered without hesitation.
"My offices, secret passages connect them to almost every part of the castle. Let's go!" the king said as the warriors prepared for his move.
"Everyone, on my signal!" shouted one of the warriors, and my fears came true, for as the advisor had said, there were hybrids everywhere, huge and terrifying.
"Watch out!" yelled Duncan, pushing me away and taking care of several with his own hands.
"Head for the main hall now!" and as I ran, something unpredictable happened.
Visions appeared where the demons fell, but I saw them rise again and again. And each time they came back... they were stronger.
"Mildred, Luna," Duncan said, and I realized that he was carrying me. At some point, I didn't even notice how lost I was in the vision.
"Now! Let's go!" the warriors shouted, and I saw several falls as we passed safely through the corridor and saw the doors to the king's office.
There were shouts, screams, and warriors falling. As we entered and the door closed, we all felt a sense of relief.
"I need a status report, now!" the king shouted as Constantine and the others searched for information.
"I need to paint," I said, and Duncan brought me papers and my paints, and I set to work immediately.
"The allied packs are crossing the roads to bring provisions and aid. Also, weapons and more warriors," Constantine said.
"The Alphas have responded; we are not alone," the advisor added, while the king was tense, and rightly so.
I continued to paint as I still saw things, and suddenly there was silence, and I realized that the king was once again seeing what I was doing.
"You understand too, don't you, Luna?"
"We will soon be under siege," I said, and everyone sighed. "The bridge is still standing; the Alphas will come, but it may be too late," I said.
The quick strokes I made on the paper were all very messy and not at all like anything I had painted before, but the visions seemed rushed and hurried, just like these moments.
"One of the demons has fallen, and others may follow. But this will not end until they are eliminated. If we don't stop them... they will come back stronger," I said, looking at the king, for he understands exactly what I am saying.
"This is not over until they are finished," he said.
"No, Luna, please," Duncan said, knowing what we had to do.
"Ava sacrificed a lot for us to know this information, because there is no other way to destroy these demons, except to go to hell itself." Suddenly we heard noises and the king's warriors appeared again.
"There is fire, Your Majesty, and the war is now taking place inside!" they said.
Everything seemed to be pushing us towards this fate that no one wanted, but it seemed to me more and more that there was no other choice.
"Your Majesty, please, there must be another way; you would be completely worn out just by trying. We need you!" said Constantine, and now the decision was in the king's hands.
"If we don't avoid this, there will be nothing left to save," he said; he knew there was no turning back. Suddenly we heard an explosion and everything shook.
"We have to move," Jessica said, looking out the door and listening to the screams, now just a few feet away.
"Luna, this is insane... please don't do this," Duncan continued to plead.
I took his arm as he looked at me worriedly. I knew that I had promised my Alpha to look for another option, that he was against this idea.
"This is what the prophecy refers to; I feel it in my bones. The King can guide me; I am the only one who can truly be there and receive the solution to end our enemies once and for all. No more wasted lives, no more fear, no more suffering packs. The world of wolves and humans is at stake, and I can help."
"Sorry Luna, but to do that, it would be necessary to first have an element of hell, something to guide you, and I remind you that both the knife and what is left of the stone are used to fight them, we have nothing," Constantine said, and I heard Duncan sigh in relief.
But the king seemed to have thought about this for a while, and he looked very serious as he said.
"In fact, we have something from hell, something quite powerful, much more than a stone, right here in my castle and in our hands. And I don't believe in coincidences, Luna Mildred, and I had to come to this. We have to move, and we will go directly to the dungeons... with our imprisoned demon".
