Werewolf
Sold by my Alpha, bought by my Mate Chapter 9: Divided
Mildred
The doctor brought me a simple pair of pants that were too big for me, and I put on the T-shirt that I thought was Asher's.
Ava guided me without saying anything. I wanted to ask her if she was really a demon and what her story was, but I couldn't.
She led me through what seemed to be a large castle. I realized that no matter how much I wanted to… I wouldn't be able to get out of here that easily.
It was magnificent, surrounded by armor, weapons, old paintings, and everything in general... old and antique.
Whatever it was, I had to play along with these people and find my chance.
"Here... we have to wait for the king," she said. I was astonished.
"Yes, the king of all wolves."
We came to the entrance to a big hall, and I heard voices.
"Don't go so far..." she said, but she didn't seem worried about me overhearing the conversation. If possible, I saw a small smile on her face as she played with a small bracelet on her wrist.
There was a throne, and on it sat a werewolf with an aura so powerful it made my knees weaken. Next to him was a dark-haired man with an impassive gaze. On the other side was the vampire, Jeremiah.
I also caught the scent of Asher; he was so familiar to me now... and beyond.
Randall? What was he doing there?
I felt my heart flutter. They seemed to be having a big discussion... about me.
"Are you sure the woman in question is human? It was all very unlikely," said the man standing near the king, who seemed to be some kind of advisor.
"That's right, Counselor Constantine... I examined the girl myself..." another voice said, the doctor.
"One of you must have been lying..." said a sonorous voice that must have been the king.
"I clearly felt that she was my mate... my wolf was crazy about her!" roared Asher.
"She was mine!" yelled Randall.
What?
"Alpha Randall, what happened after you met your mate? I remind you that you swore an oath of truth under penalty of death," the vampire said... he seemed nervous.
"I explained to her what was going on because she had no wolf. And then I... I rejected her."
"So... I was her second chance," Asher said.
"No! She was still mine."
Then there was an argument where Asher and Randall screamed and almost fought again and had to be separated by warriors.
"It's possible the bond wasn't completely broken because she was human and didn't accept the rejection," Constantine said, the answer pleasing absolutely no one.
"She was from my pack! I wanted her back, and that was my right!" cried Randall in despair.
"You forfeited that right! Especially if you mistreated her! She was in a deplorable state because of you!" said Asher angrily.
"What do you mean?" asked the king suddenly, and the doctor explained in detail about my health, my scars, and injuries... years of torture. The rest seemed upset.
"It wasn't my fault... I wasn't Alpha then; I can't be responsible for what happened to her," Randall said.
"It is the responsibility of the entire Alpha family to take care of all members..." Constantine said.
"I will take care of her... she was from my pack, she must stay with me," Randall replied. By the goddess... that's exactly where I didn't want to be.
"Over my dead body! I saved her from a horrible fate!" said Asher, seemingly unwilling to let me go.
"You bought her to use her!" yelled Randall.
"And I'd buy her a thousand times over!" said Asher angrily, they seemed to want to kill each other.
"You just wanted to sleep with her, you just wanted to mate with her, use her as you pleased, sleep with her like a whore... you knew she was probably a virgin, and you wanted to be the first one inside her..." said Randall, and I felt the effect of the spell wear off, and I started to panic again.
Asher grabbed him by the collar and lifted him off the ground.
"This is all that matters to you! Using her and seeing her as an object! You damned Alpha, I should have killed you when I had the chance!" he mumbled, and the king interjected.
"Enough! There will be no violence or bloodshed in my hall, or I will strip you of the title of Alpha!" he said firmly.
Asher let go of Randall, who fell to the ground, and they both knelt.
"We have to look for a solution," the king said thoughtfully.
"One option is for the two of them to share the young girl... though a human would not endure that," Constantine explained, and they all protested, roared, and screamed.
Two alphas... goddess.
"The other option is for the two of them to compete for her... and for her to choose who will be her mate. It might help break the bond; werewolves can actually accept rejection from a human," the king said.
"That is not possible! She's my mate! I won't share her! ..." Asher said, and Randall argued.
"I won't let Asher lay a finger on her!"
"You have no shame! Why did you reject her then, asshole?"
"Because she's a weak human..." said Randall.
"Then why do you want her now?" said Asher, and I covered my mouth. I remembered the rejection again and it still hurt.
"She will not belong to another man!" Randall replied.
"And what is your alternative, that I cut the human into pieces? A piece for each of you?" said the king, and they both fell silent.
"You will both be with her until she decides. It could be until the next eclipse; this can't go on forever; your wolves would go crazy," Constantine said.
"It's in a few weeks, seems like a good solution..." Jeremiah added.
"For the time being, both will approach the human, but won't be able to mark her or mate with her," said the king.
And before any more comments could be heard, he flicked his wrist, and Ava grabbed my arm and led me into the room.
Both Alphas didn't take their eyes off me. Ava bowed to the king and kissed a ring on his hand as she took her hand.
"My dear. I hear you've done a fine job," he exclaimed.
"Thank you, Your Majesty..." she said with a bow.
"So this is the human? Are you sure?" The king looked at me as if I were a cockroach, his green eyes on me.
"Well... you will all stay here. Asher, you will spend time with her first... we will discuss the terms of this process," the king said, and Asher looked pleased.
"I hope Your Majesty is fair... I know Alpha Asher has your blessing and support," Randall said. The king rose from his throne.
"Beware of the justice I may have, Alpha. And I would recommend that you do your best to have my blessing as well. There is still the matter of the bar and the irregularities of Red Moon to deal with. Now, all of you, get out of my sight!"
