I had never been beaten like that in my life, my whole body ached.

"It is confirmed that something strange is happening here... " Duncan said.

"Did you manage to talk to any of the rogues?" I asked, and my Beta looked at me strangely.

"None survived..."

"None?" I shook my head.

"With the power Randall proved to have... he wiped them all out."

"That's right, those damn rogues were after us..."

"Too much focus on us and Randall showing all his power," he said. I swear there was no explanation, and believe me... I had seen strange things.

"Our future Luna wanted to see you... but he wouldn't let her," he said, and that thought alone made me feel better. I tried to get up from my bed as he looked at me in horror.

"What are you doing?"

"I have to get up... "

"But..." Duncan said.

"My mate is in the hands of this bastard... I have to find out what the hell is going on here before she gets hurt," I said.

And together we made our way into the woods, right to where the rogues must have come out.

I looked at the tracks and footprints.

"They're too scattered.... "

"Some of them seem to have come from the other end of the area, as if they suddenly attacked, as if they were called to attack," my Beta explained.

"That's impossible... " I said.

"It could be, we've seen strangely organized rogues before," he said, and it was true.

"There's a strange smell... and a feeling..." I said, wrinkling my face.

"Yes, I've been feeling it too since the pack house, but I have no idea what to do about it," he said.

We returned to the pack house with more questions than answers. Suddenly, we came across a familiar face.

"The Beta... Ivan..." I growled.

"The killer Alpha," he said angrily, his hands dirty and his eyes darting around. It looked to me like he was searching for something too.

"Did you miss something? A fight maybe? You were pretty lazy in front of the rogues," Duncan asked, growling.

"None of your business..."

"Oh no? Don't you wonder where those rogues came from, after all a Beta has to protect... a possible Luna," I said, and he gave me a strange look.

"There is no Luna to protect, at least not yet," he said. Weird.

"Oh right, I understand... I mean, your Alpha is going to lose," Duncan said.

"What do you mean?" he asked in surprise. Duncan and I looked at each other... this could be interesting.

"Don't you know what your Alpha is up to?" I asked.

"He's looking for a chosen mate, he must have a suitable one by now," the poor fool said, and I sneaked up to him.

"Well, it looks like your Alpha is keeping secrets from you..." I said, and he looked surprised but hid it and quickly changed the subject.

"I don't have to talk to you let alone believe you, besides I was actually following the trail of a dirty human we took out of the pack," he said matter-of-factly and Duncan and I both tensed up.

"What are you talking about?"

"A while back, there was a filthy human... she was hiding near here. It was a pest... I took it upon myself to chase it away, I even thought she had fled into the woods and died... but I smelled its disgusting stench again," he said, and I roared.

"Damn cockroach..." I said angrily. He was talking about my mate.

"Well, Alpha... we are not like the weaklings of your kind, beast who fuck with humans..." he said, and I lost my mind. I hit him until I saw blood, I hit him in the ribs and in the stomach, and finally, I grabbed him by the neck.

"This pack is a disgrace and if it were up to me I would burn them to the ground..." I muttered and dropped him.

"Watch your back, Alpha... because one day Red Moon will have his revenge..." he said, coughing on the ground.

"Crap wolf..." said Duncan. When we got back to the pack, I saw that my wounds had opened, damn it!

"Rest, Asher... I'll find out more. It's obvious that Randall hasn't told his pack about what's going on. They are not supposed to know about this," my Beta said, but when I got to my room, I knew I wouldn't have peace.

"And who the hell are you?" I asked annoyed as I found a she-wolf sitting on my bed, wearing a tiny dress that covered practically nothing, and it seemed that I was her target.

"Alpha... I came to check on you," she said. She was certainly beautiful and must be the type of wolf bred to catch the strongest wolf.

"I know who you are... you were in Randall's room... half naked," I said and she contoured herself so I could see her curves, she opened her cleavage to show me part of her breasts.

"I'm just a she-wolf..." she put on an innocent face.

"And I am an enemy of your pack."

"True, but all in all I can see that you are a magnificent Alpha... strong... and hot," she said, and I watched as she looked me up and down.

"You're really strong, I can see why Randall is jealous of you," she said matter-of-factly. The little dress she was wearing showed me a see-through panty.

"Oh yeah?" I asked curiously.

"That's right... he hates you, but it's envy he has for you. I can tell you're a full-fledged Alpha," she said, biting her lip.

She leaned over the table, her breasts almost spilling out of her cleavage, and I noticed that her panties were pretty small.

"I have a mate, a fated mate," I said and she looked astonished.

"Waiting for me... " I said.

"If you had her, you would be with her right now... and yet you stay here... with me," she said, taking off her dress as I couldn't believe this was happening.

I walked up to her, and she looked victorious, like she was finally going to get what she wanted, and I said very firmly, looking her in the eyes.

"Tell your Alpha to forget these twisted games... ohhh and that he should also respect the women in his pack... not prostitute them," I grunted.

"I want you out of my room..." I yelled and she stormed out in terror.

I couldn't believe this was happening to me.

"Asher! Looks like there's a meeting, and we weren't invited," Duncan said and I went over.

My mate... she looked beautiful, she looked like a queen to me, and I watched with a mixture of joy and regret as he removed her metal necklace.

She was overwhelmed and happy... and I was happy for her. My only sadness was that I couldn't help her.

When suddenly Ivan appeared, bleeding and screaming.

"I've been attacked!" he cried and everyone was distraught, my mate was pulled out of there.

"What happened?" asked Constantine.

"That Alpha bastard! That savage brute! He tried to kill me for no reason!"
