Werewolf
Sold by my Alpha, bought by my Mate Chapter 53: The weak point
Asher
"They're everywhere!" my mate yelled, scared, as I grabbed one of the jackets from the dead guards on the floor and put it on her. I hated that these vampires were staring at her and ogling her.
"I don't know how they got into the castle. There are so many of them, it seems like an unstoppable force. But what's the point?" I asked aloud.
At that moment, I saw my friend Jeremiah in the distance, fighting several vampires and killing them in a matter of seconds.
He looked exhausted, his suit torn and burned, as he ordered the royal warriors not to lower their remaining protection.
"Steady, do not let them advance! Another group is coming!" he shouted.
"Jeremiah!" I shouted, and he approached us as he placed my mate in front of me and hugged her tightly. I had already lost her twice during the attack. I wasn't about to lose her again.
"Asher... thank the goddess..."
"How the hell did this happen?" I asked.
"The attack came from afar. We've been fooled about the location. We've all been tracking in the wrong direction. I stopped a whole horde coming from the other end, and several rogues as well. This is an invasion tlike we have never seen before."
"For goodness’s sake! There were more?" my mate asked, frightened.
"Yes, Miss... and more are on the way... I couldn't stop them. We are facing a situation that is completely beyond our expectations and plans. I ventured against what His Majesty asked me to do...I did what I could, but this is beyond me...everyone...where is he? They must have come for him," Jeremiah said worriedly. He looked really exhausted and desperate, not his usual self.
The vampires were closing in on us, Millie was trembling, but I didn't want to separate her from me, Jeremiah was still fighting while the King's warriors were preventing any more enemies from entering the castle.
"Ava and Duncan should be with him right now... but what is the purpose of all this? There are hundreds of them, and they are violent and strong... but honestly, they don't have the ability to overthrow him. The king should already be calling all the alphas who have sworn allegiance... to start a war here, right now... is not a wise movement. There are no alphas, not high ranked people..." I commented as Jeremiah fended off more vampires and I kicked and slashed his heads into the distance.
"That's a good point...maybe...," he said.
"Maybe that's not their purpose..." I added.
"But to end it all here and now...the king..." my mate said, and we ran off in that direction. I grabbed a rifle from one of the warriors and started shooting at whoever came my way.
We saw that some areas were completely destroyed, and the whole castle was upside down. I killed all the vampires in my path and carried my mate while Jeremiah made his way through.
Suddenly, we were hit by a blast of fire that instantly incinerated a horde of vampires.
"What the hell?" I yell as I saw Duncan appear with a flamethrower.
"This'll fry them like bacon...well, pretty dead and rotten bacon," he said in delight.
"Have you seen the king, is he all right?" asked Jeremiah.
"Jer! It's good to see you! We needed you! Yes. Ava is with him. He's unharmed and has already been moved to one of the secure chambers...".
"Are you sure? Nothing is missing?"
"Ava is with him. She hasn't been separated for a moment," he said, still in his boxers and barefoot.
"We need to get to him..."
"Come on then... that's where the highest concentration of vampires is, it's like he's attracting them," Duncan said and we followed.
When we reached the upper chambers, Ava was already there with a silver chain, catching vampires and hanging them, while the king's guardians and Constantine protected the entrance.
"Ava!"
"Little vampire! We've been waiting for you..." she said, she seems desperate and furious.
"Your room... is secured?" asked Jeremiah.
"It's been sealed. It's safe for now. His Majesty has been moved and protected anyway. They tried to attack him, but they did not approach him," she explained. It was all very unusual.
Suddenly, rogues appeared, jumping out of windows, knocking down walls and everything in between, coming towards us.
"Brace yourselves," Constantine said as I placed my mate between me and Ava, preparing for the worst. It was almost dawn, and I felt we had failed to diminish them; more were appearing.
"Come on, you bastards! Come on, I want to boil you straight to hell!" yelled Duncan, using the flamethrower again.
"Attack!" yelled Jeremiah, and I shot at the rogues, who jumped up and fell down, dead.
As more vampires appeared, they seemed to enjoy the violence and were increasingly willing to risk their lives, as if they couldn't control it.
"Damn!" I yelled as Ava moved the chains, working perfectly with Duncan, who complemented her by attacking the vampires that fell off her radar.
Jeremiah went after the rogues while I tried to protect my mate, for some reason the vampires seemed strangely attracted to her.
Constantine also rushed forward with a silver sword, slicing the vampires in two with each blow until he had so many on him that we couldn't see him anymore.
"Asher!" I heard Millie's voice in horror as I saw a vampire grab her ankle as she screamed.
I heard Jeremiah's commands, Duncan screaming for Ava, and I thought it was the end of us as I protected her with everything I had, the vampire bit my hands and I ripped its head off with my hands.
Suddenly, out of the corner of my eye, I saw the King standing in front of the stairs, and the rogues were practically obliterated by his aura, and the vampires were blinded by his power.
His aura continued to spread, and now I could hear the screams of the warriors who seemed to be winning the battle at last.
"Master!" cried Ava as the king collapsed after doing his work.
"Inside! Now!" yelled Jeremiah.
"Are you okay?" I asked my mate as I checked her from head to toe.
"I think so..." she said in a shaky voice, and I see blood on her leg.
"You're hurt, come on..." I said to her and approached the king's quarters where several wounded were already lying.
"I need to know how they got in, and I need to know now!" I heard the king yell. You could feel his anger in every stone and pillar.
The losses were terrible, and we had paid dearly for our carelessness.
The enemy knew that we were vulnerable, that we had our weak point, and had forced the king to act.
But to me, there was only one explanation, and only one possible culprit.
