Werewolf
Sold by my Alpha, bought by my Mate Chapter 67: River Ash
Asher
"I don't know if you are aware of this, but... when you came to my pack, our pack, you were with me all the time... preferably with no clothes on. And I got to places on your skin... that I hadn't tasted yet," I told my mate as I watched her shamefacedly dress in front of me. I wouldn't miss this show for the world.
She was getting more and more used to being around me with less clothes on and me touching her, but I found it charming how she blushed when I ran my eyes all over her beautiful body.
"I just hope you keep your promises, Alpha..." she suddenly said boldly, and all this playfulness made me smile.
"An Alpha always keeps his promises, my mate," I said, pulling her to me, half dressed, and kissing her, running my lips deep over her lips.
I heard her sigh as her small heart raced. My wolf was getting more and more desperate to have her, and I prayed that all went well at River Ash.
Unfortunately, we had to take Randall with us, but at least we would be on my territory with my rules. I had talked to my people to make sure my mate had the best stay in the world. I had prepared almost every day in detail to make it glorious.
"Mate's going to love her new home... once she's there she won't want to leave," Cormac said very confidently.
"I hope so buddy, I want this to be the last step to seal our acceptance, we will be chosen," I replied.
I was extremely optimistic from the moment we left the castle. Millie marveled at everything she saw along the way and seemed extremely excited.
Randall seemed nervous, and I thought it was because he was finally going to see what a pack was like, a real one that treated everyone with respect, human or not.
"It's really beautiful," was the first thing she said when we entered my territory, and I don't think I'll ever forget it.
Her eyes sparkled at the sight of the mountains, and when the first warriors appeared, they knelt before her.
"Welcome home, Luna," they said, looking at her with real affection and respect. She looked nervous.
"Looks like someone's been manipulating his pack, putting on a theater of lies, doesn't it, Asher?" said Randall mischievously, while I shrugged.
"I just warned that our future Luna was coming, and that's how you greet the leader and heart of the pack," I said.
“At least in real packs," Duncan added, and I heard Randall snarl.
I had been away from my pack for a long time, and I missed it. The snow-capped mountains, the perfectly arranged houses with flowers outside, the cool breeze and yet the warm sun on my face.
I saw the children running around and the festive atmosphere in general. This used to happen when I came home from an important battle or Alpha meeting. But today was more important than any other day.
"Oh, Luna, come this way," said Angelica, the pack housekeeper, as we all came downstairs.
"Millie... I have no family left. My parents died a long time ago, and I was an only child... but these wonderful ladies here are my family... Angelica is my second mom," I said, greeting them as they looked at me adoringly.
"Luna... how lovely... our Alpha was so lucky," they said with teary eyes, and I knew they had loved my mate immediately, and I believed my beautiful mate had felt the same way about them.
My ladies were excited to show her around; they were even nice to Randall, showing him their rooms even though he was rude to them.
"Keep an eye on that Alpha," I said to my people, and they were all very attentive but cordial.
When we came to a courtyard, we saw a big sign that said "Welcome dear Luna," and even children appeared with flowers that they had brought especially for her.
"Ohhh... how wonderful, was this really all for me?" asked Millie, seeing all the welcome.
"Of course, there was and would be no other Luna in River Ash but you," I told her as I took the children and carried them as was my custom.
"Look at you! Soon you'll be taller than me," I said laughing, and Millie looked at us in fascination.
"Is it true you brought our Luna?" a little boy asked.
"That's right... this is Miss Mildred, my destined mate, and Luna," I saw the amazed look on all the puppies' faces.
"Destined mate? Wow!"
"She's a beautiful Luna," said a small, shy girl as my mate held her lovingly.
I thought I couldn't be more in love with her.... but with every gesture since she arrived in the pack, she proved me wrong.
"Well, for tonight we had prepared a feast and a special reception for our Luna and His Majesty's delegates. Please come this way. Make yourselves comfortable," Angelica said.
"If I may, I would like to take my mate to see some of the grounds before dinner," I said.
"Very well, Alpha, but come back soon…" Angelica said, patting me on the arm, and I took my mate, almost carrying her in my arms.
"Where are we going?" she asked me amused.
"To a very special place... although I must admit that I just wanted to have you by my side for a moment, just for me," I would confess to her, and she would sigh.
"Come here," I said, and we went to the stables.
"Are we going on horseback? Is it safe?" she asked worriedly.
"Of course it is, mate... I'd never put you in danger," I'd say, climbing on my horse with her.
"A wolf on a horse... who knew," she said as I hugged her from behind and led the animal.
"My family raised horses for people for many years, we both have our animal side, and we get along very well," I explained as we continued up the mountain. I explained to her about the pack, the landscape, the things I loved about River Ash.
The trees, the nearby animals, the place where I first heard my wolf, where Duncan and I used to play when we were kids, the rock where I used to sit and prayed for her, to find my Luna.
And for the first time, I heard her breathing calm... my mate was at peace until we came to this special place.
"Asher... I can't believe it," she said in amazement.
