Werewolf
Sold by my Alpha, bought by my Mate Chapter 68: A magical place
Mildred
I was ecstatic, amazed by every detail I saw around me, but most of all by the warm welcome and affection with which I was greeted. Asher went out of his way to make me feel welcome and appreciated, and I simply couldn't find the words to describe it.
The ladies of the packhouse, the children, the warriors, and all the members of River Ash treated me with such respect and enthusiasm that I could not believe it. Not only that, but the pack was organized and thriving.
Although I knew that nothing was perfect, it was obvious that there was an atmosphere of peace and happiness that I had never experienced before.
Asher, of course, wanted me all to himself. We rode through such beautiful places that I felt my eyes had never seen such beauty. He told me beautiful memories of his life in this wonderful place.
"We are here!" he told me, and I could not believe my eyes. Asher had shown me surprises and beauties of his pack, but this was beyond description.
"Asher...I can't believe how I got to dream about this?" I asked him. It was the exact same landscape, that I never knew really existed... I had only seen it in my dreams.
In front of me was what had inspired my painting, the one I had painted in my little hut: a stone mountain in the shape of a wolf howling at the moon, its nose and eyes raised to the sky as if it wanted to reach the bright satellite.
But my painting did not do it justice. The mountain was imposing, almost magical, as if it had been created by ancient beings in the past. It conveyed power and strength, everything that reminded me of Asher.
"I don't know, mate... but it seems to me more and more that you are not just a human girl. I felt it ever since I saw the drawing in your hut. Maybe there are more secrets in our world that we don't know about," he explained.
I was dazzled and frankly surprised. My dreams were getting stranger and stranger... Could they mean something?
"When my ancestors found this place, they knew it would be our territory, this wolf... it represented us. These lands have belonged to my family for centuries, and if the Moon Goddess wills it, a son of mine will rule this place in the future," he told me, sniffing at my neck.
His words filled me with love and fear. It was clear that he meant a son of his and mine. Could I really give him a powerful son? A true Alpha? Could I be the Luna he needed?
"This place is magical," I told him, we walked together for a while near the mountain, I wanted to see so many things I didn't want to leave!
"I promise we will come back as often as you want. After all, we have plenty of time here," he explained, and I thought the idea was fantastic. In the evening he took me to his rooms, which were really cozy, and I felt very comfortable.
Angelica came eagerly to prepare my clothes and arrange my hair, and when I looked in the mirror... I never thought I could look like this. When I came out in a beautiful silver dress... Asher practically devoured me with his eyes.
"If you keep tempting me like this, mate... I don't know what I'll do. I'm just a simple wolf who's crazy about his Luna. You have to help me...otherwise I'll break all agreements and mark you tonight," he said and kissed my neck. The thought made me shiver and excited.
The dinner was wonderful, with lots of food and everyone dancing and celebrating. Many came up to me to meet me or just to see me, and if I thought I would disappoint them, I was completely wrong. They all looked at me with awe, and enthusiasm.
"There's nothing like a destined mate. Our Alpha has been most fortunate."
"River Ash is blessed."
"We couldn't ask for anything more for our wonderful Alpha," some said.
Others even introduced me to their mates, and I was surprised to discover that there were several humans.
"Are there human mates too?" I asked in surprise.
"Of course, I told you that in the last war we discovered that it was possible. And since then, several members of the pack have been blessed with their true mates," Asher told me as if it were the most natural thing in the world.
I was overwhelmed by everything I saw, much more than I could have imagined, and when he called me aside, I thought we were going to retire, and I was excited to meet more people.
"I've got a surprise for you, mate. There's someone here to see you," he said, whispering, and introduced me to someone I never thought I'd see again.
"Eileen?" I asked in shock.
"Oh, Mildred!" she exclaimed, throwing herself into my arms and crying.
"My friend!" the only one I had in Red Moon, the only one who made my life bearable, the one who bought me art supplies.
"How is it possible that you are here?" I asked her in amazement.
"I apologize, my friend. I've been trying to contact you, but there have been so many problems," she told me.
She explained that the old Alpha Franco had taken her because she turned out to be the true mate of an Alpha, but he was a terrible man, an enemy of all wolves and of the King.
He had rejected her and imprisoned her. Her life had become a living hell.
"But luckily the war came, and I was freed, and I met my second chance mate... and yet it was forbidden to contact Red Moon in any way," she said, proudly introducing me to a very handsome warrior who looked at her adoringly.
"There is nothing to forgive... now we are together," I said, taking her hands while Asher looked very pleased.
The night had been fantastic, and I arrived exhausted in the bedroom as he carried me and put on one of his long t-shirts.
"Tomorrow, I want to take you somewhere special," he said, kissing and stroking my feet as I fell into a deep sleep.
"Another special place?"
"Everything is special with you, Millie... but I've dreamed all my life of taking my mate to this place..." he said.
I wished every day could be like this.... I had forgotten all my problems, including Randall, and all my suffering. I didn't even have nightmares, nor did I remember what those creatures that haunted me in my dreams looked like.
I didn't feel my body was weak, nor did I care about my scars. I could finally say, for the first time in my life, that I was truly well.
