"Beta, calm down, calm down, breathe. We will take care of you," I say, trying to stay calm, but in reality my wolf is on edge. We can't find my mate and my Beta is in this situation? It couldn't be worse.

"Luna... he took her... I tried to stop him, but he attacked me. I couldn't stop it, I'm sorry," Duncan says, looking completely distraught, holding his wound, his hands covered in blood.

I understand he means Millie, but who took her? It's almost certain that the demons are already defeated.

"Over there..." he says, pointing and babbling.

"Duncan!" He seems to pass out as Jeremiah holds his face and gives him some of his blood.

"Take it, Beta... stay alive, please, we need you," he says, and I run in the direction he indicates.

I can smell her in this sea of blood and death. I can feel her so close that I can almost imagine her, almost see her. And when I'm at one of the castle's exits, I find someone.

"I was wondering when you were going to meet me... it took you long enough to wake up, lazy Alpha," a familiar voice says. But the man in front of me is barely recognizable.

"Randall?" I ask in astonishment.

Part of his body is burned beyond recovery, his hair is scorched, and half of his face is disfigured, as if melted by the fire he fled.

This was certainly no ordinary fire; something tells me it's hellfire, and my enemy is paying a heavy price. But my senses awaken again as I see him step aside and leave my mate tied up.

She is crying, injured, and has a gag in her mouth.

"Mate!" I scream in fear, and he smiles with what is left of his mouth.

"I can't watch this anymore. I have to finish this man!" Cormac screams in my head.

She and I will be together as it should have always been," he says as if he were completely insane. I run towards her, but he holds a knife to her throat.

"Stay away from her, Randall, if you know what's good for you," I say.

Millie looks particularly weak, and I know that whatever she did to end up in hell has taken its toll on her, not to mention the collapse in the dungeons.

"Can you be so despicable? You are the most evil of the alphas. Does it really surprise you that she didn't pick you?" I ask him. He runs the knife over my mark on my mate's neck, and she screams in pain.

I feel pain in my chest as well, is excruciating.

"Be very careful, Alpha... you know what I can do. So let's negotiate."

"You won't get out of here alive, Randall! You are surrounded!" Jeremiah shouts.
