Mildred

"Mildred, are you all right, my mate?" he asked me as I lay in his arms, completely wrapped in his warmth and body.

"A little sore," I replied as he ran his hands down my back.

"It was too intense, my love. I felt like your body was burning me... I almost passed out seeing you in that dress, that lingerie... you had me trapped in your hands," he said as I moaned under his caresses, his fingertips trailing over my breasts, following their shape.

"Well, I don't regret it," I confessed, and he laughed.

"I loved the makeup sex, though I hate fighting with you. I need you close," he says smiling.

"Tough times are coming, and we need to be in this together," I said, and he nodded.

"Of course. I promise that whatever comes, we'll talk about it," he said as he began to kiss me.

I welcomed his fingers and caresses, completely satisfied. My whole body ached, but I swore I would endure more just to be with him again, just to feel that sensation from last night again.

"Your skin is so soft..." he said with a sigh as his hands moved down my hips to my stomach and his fingers slowly moved to my center.

"You have no idea how much I love having you inside me..." I told him, and he growled; I could almost hear Cormac.

Just when I felt that this morning was going to be wonderful, we were interrupted by a commotion.

"What's going on?" he stood up, annoyed.

I watched with sadness as he quickly got dressed. I loved to see him naked, especially his magnificent and strong ass. The bed felt cold, and I immediately missed him when he went out the door. He returned a short time later, looking worried.

"We have visitors," he said.

I dressed as well, and we went out to meet Alpha Dimitri, who seemed very concerned. I had met him at the council in the castle, and my mate always said he was a very loyal and wise man.

"We saw movement near my pack and all the way here," the man said, very worried.

"What kind of movement?" Jeremiah asked.

"That is what surprises me most, my friend. It's not an attack, nor are they watching us...it just seems to be just moving back and forth, without any purpose, as if the real purpose was to confuse us," he said, and we all seemed lost by what he was saying.

"It makes no sense. Has our enemy lost his mind?" the king asked as the Alpha of this pack began to give instructions on what to do.

"Maybe that's what they want..." said my mate, and none of us liked it.

"What do you think we should do?" I asked.

"Go back to the castle. We'll make our base there and keep digging. We need to find out from the other packs if something similar is happening to them," the vampire said.

"That doesn't sound good," the king said worriedly. Not long ago, we faced a fierce attack there, and we barely survived. What does the future hold for us?

"Duncan said there was some activity outside the castle as well, but nothing to indicate a confrontation" Asher said. At least that should be good news. We meet all that day, and the Alphas prepare the next steps.

"Tell me the truth, Jeremiah... what do you think this means?" my mate asked as he held me in his arms. Everyone had taken action, and I feared that our happy moment was over.

"I think... they want to create chaos. But besides that, I think something else is going on. I didn't want to say this in front of everyone, but maybe… the enemy truly found a way to spy on us. Maybe that's why you felt that someone was watching you, especially you, Luna. So they want to throw us off our game" the vampire said, looking at me.

"But how is that possible?" we already discuss it. It can't be.

"I don't know, but they are demons and have surprising powers, just like Ava. We don't know what they're capable of, and there are a lot more of them. I think we need to be prepared for whatever comes," he said.

"Maybe I can help... try to see something," I told them, my mate didn't seem very happy about it, but the vampire indicated that it might be a good option.

"Rest here, my mate, okay? If you need anything, just ask. We'll be close by, we won't bother you. Just stay here and don't push yourself," Asher said, cupping my face tenderly and giving me a kiss on the forehead.

They left me in one of the rooms and had set up the canvases and left my paints. I was left alone and sighed, I had to get to work, the only way I could help.

I closed my eyes and tried to concentrate using some of the techniques the King had taught me: clearing my mind, letting thoughts flow without a specific goal, letting the visions come to me.

But I had no idea how much time had passed, and nothing came to me. I felt nervous, doubtful and had an overwhelming feeling that something bad was going to happen.

There is a sofa nearby, and I lay down with a pad of paper and some paints. I started scribbling, but nothing important came out. And I didn't know when I fell asleep.

Sometimes my dreams were just about being with Asher, and I would have welcomed a dream like that, or even one in the castle or in River Ash. But I had none of that.

Instead, it was like a succession of images, one after the other, of things I didn't understand. All so fast and at the same time, confusing me and I ended with a terrible headache.

But when I woke up and sat up, the papers fell, and I realized that I had painted, but it wasn't what I thought it would be: just scribbles and stains, no representations, nothing to tell me what was coming or what was happening.

It was chaos, just chaos.

I got up and looked out the window, seeing our team getting ready to leave the pack and return to the castle, when I heard my mate talking to some soldiers outside.

"How come someone was out here?"

"We don't know, Alpha. There's a strange smell. We wanted to know if you recognize it," the men said, and suddenly there was silence.

"We have to get out of here as soon as possible," he said nervously. When he entered the room, he didn't let me talk or show anything I had painted, even though it wasn't worth it.

"Millie, you must promise me that no matter what happens, you will return to the castle. You must promise me," he said desperately, hugging me.

I wondered if he had a bad feeling or had sensed something strange. He didn't want to tell me, but neither option was good.

I just prayed that we would reach the castle safely, too much had happened in my life to suffer another tragedy.
