Randall

The renegades and demons were supposed to handle the fire, or so it seemed when I saw those pale wolves blocking our path. But then a deafening shriek made my skin crawl, and I thought maybe things were not going as we had planned.

"What's wrong with those demons?" one of the Alphas beside me said as we tried to understand what was happening.

"We need to move forward," I said, and the others followed my command.

Imagine my surprise when I saw Alpha Asher on the other side. There are many pleasures in life, but revenge and vengeance hold a special place in my heart. I have hated many people, but none as much as the Alpha of River Ash.

"They're killing the demon!" the other Alphas shouted, unsure of what to do.

Two demons had fallen, and Asher's men were beating and throwing them to the ground as the infernal creature shrieked. Suddenly, the demons stopped moving. Although I knew they weren't completely dead, I understood that this was my moment to act.

Who would have thought that my enemy would help me with my plans, since weakening the demons was, ironically, something we had in common?

"Don't worry, their brothers will come to help them. There's nothing we can do for them, let's stick to the plan! We have to attack the Alphas!" I told my comrades.

I felt that fortune was finally smiling on me.

"Let's attack the enemy alphas!" they yell as we went on the offensive.

I could see that my enemy was thinking the same thing, Asher seemed to want this confrontation even more than I did, which was saying a lot.

"Do not let them into the castle, no matter what!" shouted Asher, followed by a group of useless followers. While each Alpha faced a warrior, I went straight to him.

"Have you come to greet me?" I asked and heard him roar. It was always so easy to get inside his head, and I was determined to do so with everything I had.

"I have come to put an end to you, as I should have done a long time ago. You're surrounded, Randall. I don't know what the demons have told you, but this is all you have. Our allies have reached the castle, and I've taken out the rogues of the forest that were on your side," he said, and now I understood why we hadn't heard from them. That bastard! Useless rogues!

" You have nothing, Asher. It's all lies..." I said, denying his words.

"In the forest you escaped, but here there's no one to defend you," he said.

"Oh yes... the demoness defended me. Wait... wasn't she supposed to be on your side? To be your friend? How quickly she changed! Surely she realized which side was winning, and that to survive meant to be with me," I said very confidently, and Asher roared even more angrily.

I moved closer, listening to the screams and death around me. I just wanted to take the time to make him suffer before I incapacitated him. My goal was to beat him enough to keep him captive. He would suffer much more later.

"And just as Ava changed her mind, so will Mildred. She'll realize there's a better and stronger Alpha for her. A winning Alpha," I said, and he threw the first punch.

But it wasn't strong or decisive; it was completely desperate. He had no control or strategy, just the strength of an Alpha unbalanced by rage.

"I marked her, and she's mine, she chose me!" he growled.

"She had no choice after you turned her against me," I replied, and he snarled even more as I dodged his blows.

"You managed to lose her quickly. You were incredibly successful and didn't need my help," he said shamelessly and I lunged at him, scratching his face and trying to get to his neck. But he kicked me with a blow and I rolled to the ground.

"Focus!" my wolf Balo yelled.

All around me, the Alphas were winning against Asher's men and the other Alpha. It was only a matter of time before they lost, for we had the advantage. I just had to control this fool a little longer, distract him and keep him off balance.

"I saw her naked, did you know that? I saw her little sexy body, her round ass wiggling, her breasts and her sweet pussy. I even touched her," I said as I stood up. Even though it was a lie, it got the job done. He was breathing like a bull, and I smiled.

"You bastard!"

"And I will have her back. Mildred will be free of you, murderer. She'll be mine when I kill you," I said, and he came at me so fast that when I pushed him, he flew through the air like a fool.

"All you did was watch like a poor peeper," he said, getting up from the ground and wiping the blood from his mouth.

"Oh, but I already know what awaits me when she's mine, I'll kill you and erase your filthy mark from her neck. I'll fuck her every day, I'll get her pregnant every chance I get, and I'll make her forget she ever had another mate besides me. By the goddess, I don't think she can even handle the size of my..." I said, and he turned into a wolf and came at me.

I dodged his blows and bites and watched all his movements. As he got more and more out of control, I used the weapon the demons had given me and shot him in a leg. Asher whimpered and I approached to finish him off.

Maybe I'll cut off his limbs, I thought, considering what would be the most painful action, but suddenly I heard a crash in front of me and the fire seemed to get out of control. I felt a blow to the back of my head and fell. I realize Asher had hit me.

He was injured, and yet he seemed angrier than ever, he had lost all control.

Then I saw Asher's men get up and chase after the Alphas who had come with me. The Renegades were running like human torches, on fire, desperately trying to escape and extinguish the flames. I heard the king's warriors arrive amidst the chaos.

Now all I could think about was escaping, especially getting to the castle, but the fire blocked the path to the door that was now so close.

What the hell happened?

"Running away Randall? Never again!" shouted Asher, limping after me with a terrible wound on his leg. I saw the spreading fire and the castle on the other side.

My mate is waiting for me, I thought.

And without thinking, I plunged through the fire.
