Werewolf
Sold by my Alpha, bought by my Mate Chapter 142: Impending separation
Asher
I stayed there, staring at her, completely naked and gorgeous. We had wild sex, and if it was up to me, I would never stop.
I wanted to mark her body, to trace it with my hands and mouth until I knew every inch of her skin. I was completely obsessed, and no matter what happened, she would always be the most important person to me.
"Don't go..." she said pleading, as I was already at the foot of the bed.
I had tried to leave the room a few times, but it was impossible. I couldn't take my eyes off her, sleeping exhausted, her skin glowing with the light coming through the window, the curve of her back, the little bites I'd left all over her skin.
I just couldn't seem to get away from her, and now that she was awake, I knew it would be even harder.
"Mate..." I say to her.
She moves, her scent becoming more intoxicating. Everything about her was driving me crazy and at the same time giving me strength, as if she knew I had to do everything to protect her.
"Please don't go yet. I'm afraid the battle will start, and I won't know anything about you. I'll be scared to death," she says. I move closer, caressing her legs, holding back the urge to get on top of her and have her again.
"We have to control ourselves, Cormac. We are doing this for her, to keep her safe," I tell my wolf, who is already whimpering in pain at the impending separation.
"I have to do this, Randall is coming for you. Our enemies want you in their hands and I will never let that happen"
I tell her what I saw on my way back and all the misfortunes that have befallen us and the ones that are yet to come. But now she gets up seductively and approaches me, standing on the bed and taking my lips with madness.
I caress her back and squeeze her ass in my hands, kissing her breasts and belly. I stay there, lying down, sighing, listening to her heartbeat.
"I promise I will come back for you, but you have to promise me you will stay here and go through the tunnels if everything is lost" I explain.
"Promise me, mate," I say again.
"I promise..." she kneels down on the bed. I take her face and after a long and tender kiss I step back without stopping to look at her.
"Don't move... I want this to be the image that accompanies me into battle," I tell her. I see her thighs, her chest rising and falling rapidly, her lips swollen and red, her eyes crying.
"I love you, and for you, I would come back even from the world of the dead," I tell her.
"Come back to me, my Alpha... I will wait for you," she says.
When I am outside the room, I realize that this was the hardest thing I have done in my entire life: to walk away from the most precious thing and the most desired dream in my existence.
Before I regret it, I run towards the dungeons to find my Beta. On the way, I see Constantine organizing the warriors and preparing barricades.
What Luna Simone had told me about the fire frightened me, because it was not something that wolves could easily fight, and besides, the king's forest was nearby, and that was not a good sign.
"His Majesty is informed of everything, and we will look for fire extinguishers," the advisor told me, looking tense and worried.
When I finally reached the dungeons, my friend was indeed there, interrogating the demon, who seemed agitated, as if he knew what was coming.
"Tell me what they are preparing," Duncan asked, and the demon smiled, if he could with his disfigured face.
"You're scared now, aren't you? After locking up a demon, now you're afraid of what the Whisperers can do to you. I'm telling you right now, it won't be pretty," the demon says, and Duncan punches him.
"Do you think you are invincible and will get away with this? Well, you still have to face us. The war is won by fighting, not by words, demon."
He certainly looked weak and tired, but we knew that part of their power was their proximity to each other. When the others were weak, they knew they could strengthen themselves by being close to their brother.
"I don't like this, Beta," I say to him, and Duncan growls.
"Strange things are going on outside. Jeremiah went to investigate, but we don't even know exactly what we're dealing with," he says.
"Then let's make sure nothing catches us by surprise," I say.
"We can't leave Mate unprotected," my wolf says.
"Beta, I have to ask you something and I know you won't like it," I say and he looks at me very seriously.
"You want me to stay with our Luna?" he asks me and I nod.
"You know I would love to be in the fight, but I also know what we are risking," he replies.
"She can't leave for any reason. You will stay with the king and her. Make sure they are together, and at the slightest movement or strange thing you see, you must take them through these secret tunnels. The enemy has no idea about them, and it's our best option. If the castle falls or something happens, you must take Millie and flee without looking back. May the king and the others forgive me, but she is our priority," I tell him. As always, my Beta is in complete harmony.
"She must not fall into the hands of the enemy. I'll make sure she's safe, and I'll take her with me even if she doesn't want to," he adds.
"I am proud to call you my friend and my Beta," I tell him and see him swallow hard. I have never been much for goodbyes in a battle, but everything seemed grim.
"We will see each other, big Alpha, we will bore in our pack with our people, and you will have your mate,"
"Hope you are right. Ava helped me, and I will never forget that. If I have the chance to bring her back with you, and she wishes it... I will, my friend," I tell him, and he smiles.
Sometimes we don't have to say much when we know each another person so well, when we know what's in their heart almost as if it were our own.
"Don't leave the demon unprotected," I tell some of the guards when I hear a sound that echoes through the walls and makes us all jump.
"What the hell was that?" Constantine says as I suddenly see some familiar faces.
"Alpha Nate!" I call to my friend who comes up with his Beta, Roger.
"Big Alpha, the attack has begun... but we don't know exactly what it is" he says.
"We need to split up," I say.
"I will stay inside and hold the top floor where His Majesty is," Constantine says, and he takes some warriors with him as I see more Alpha friends appear: Dimitri and also Alpha Shum.
"An explosion collapsed the west wing," Dimitri says anxiously.
"We entered the castle not long ago, by chance. It looked like some warriors were going to attack us, and we finally managed to get inside," Alpha Shum says, and I remember Luna Simone's promise of help.
"They want to distract us and attack us from all sides. They must not get into the castle," I say, and so we organize ourselves.
"Where the hell is Jeremiah?" I yell.
