Werewolf
Sold by my Alpha, bought by my Mate Chapter 93: Ceremony Plans
Asher
"Duncan…"
This had become an ordeal. My Beta was more bound to the demoness than I thought, this made no sense.
"Well, I wouldn't put my hands in the fire for anyone if I were you, least of all that woman," the king replies sarcastically, and they wave him away.
"Please, you must listen to me!" he shouts, and I see him being held by warriors, preventing him from approaching the king.
"Your Majesty... I beg you," I say.
"Your Majesty, I agree with Duncan. I have not seen her in my dreams, but I know her character," my mate says, interrupting.
"I thought I knew her too, miss, but unfortunately she is considered an enemy of my kingdom," says the king, who doesn't look happy about it at all, but doesn't do anything to make it better. Suddenly, Jeremiah intervenes.
"I promise to help find answers and bring proof that she is not working against us, that she's actually trying to help us," he says, and I feel a sense of relief. They take Duncan away, and we want to follow him, but the king calls us back.
"Luna and Alpha of River Ash, it is necessary that the mating ceremony be performed as soon as possible, before our enemy come up with new ideas on how to have the human," the king says.
"Yes, Your Majesty. I will arrange a trip to my pack for the ceremony as soon as possible," I reply, but he interrupts me.
"No, the ceremony will take place here in the castle. Constantine will arrange everything, and you will have all the luxury and accommodations at your disposal, as well as any Alphas who wish to stay and be present for your union. They will be welcome," he says, and there seems to be no right of reply.
"Your Majesty, but the ceremony has always been done in my pack," I try to say, but the king suddenly stands up, not looking so weak, but like someone capable of serious harm.
"Don't contradict me! Alpha, do you want something else to happen and our enemy to have a chance to take her away from you?" he says, looking at us angrily.
"No, Your Majesty," I finish. I don't like this at all, but he's right. After all, I need to mark her.
"In a few days, I want her, marked and mated, so there will be no arguments about the legitimacy of her choice. After that, what you do is absolutely none of my business," he says in a venomous tone, and we nod.
"I'll make sure everything is done quickly. And I'm sure you'll have a wonderful ceremony later at River Ash," the vampire says.
Finally, we are asked to leave, which we do gladly. This is getting unbearable, and it looked like Jeremiah was going to stay there to endure more scolding.
"By the goddess..." I say exhausted as I hug my mate on the way out.
"The king is... " she asks.
"I'm sorry my love...we didn't get a chance to talk before, we don't want the king to know too much about your gifts..." I say, looking at her worriedly.
"I understand...you don't want him to use me... and the ceremony..." she says, and I kiss her.
"No one and no one will take you away from me...even if we do the ceremony in the middle of nowhere, in a well, in the desert," I say, hugging her tightly.
"I'm sorry it's not at River Ash...I know it was important to you."
"The only thing that matters is that you will be my Luna," I say caressing her beautiful face and she smiles. Then I take her hand and go to find my Beta.
"Duncan...what happened to him?"
"My beta seems to be extremely enchanted with Ava... and the king has declared her a traitor. My friend won't listen to reason, not even from me,"
He was not imprisoned, he had done no harm, but they had caught him because he had become too insistent. They had already tied him up, but he escaped. My stubborn Beta.
"Duncan!" she says when she sees him, and he peers through a small window between the bars.
"You've got to help me, Alpha, and you too, Luna," he says, looking at me desperately and taking my mate's hands.
"Duncan, of course we're going to help. We're not going to let our friend get set up," she says.
"That's right buddy, besides Jeremiah is gathering information about the attack. Ava didn't hurt any of the warriors. They're all a little weak and exhausted, but there was no real damage on her part. I think she even attacked some of the hybrids," I say.
"I'm sure she did nothing wrong, I promise to keep an eye out for her in my dreams," Millie says, and Duncan looks at her as if she were his savior.
"But you have to promise me that you will behave, otherwise the king will put you on the enemies list, and you won't help anyone," I say and the dejected Beta nods.
If it was true that he had developed a special fondness for her, but that it was so deep, I think it surprised us all.
"Can a wolf have a demon mate?" asks Millie as we walk to my room.
"I don't know, my love, but strange things have been happening in these lands for some time now. And maybe it wouldn't be strange at all, no more than a human mating with an Alpha and a beautiful woman being able to see the future in dreams."
"I wish there was something that could help everyone."
"Well, whatever it is, you need to prepare for what is to come. The ceremony will take place as soon as possible. You heard the king, and I need you so much, Millie. My wolf is going crazy every hour I haven't marked you, and now there's nothing to keep us apart," I say, pulling her close to me and laying her down in one of the corridors near our room.
"But first, tomorrow, we will spend a day together, just you and me, before the ceremony. Where you will be mine, all mine."
